Give me ONE good reason to give a shit about Ala Mhigans or their plight. Eorzeans have less reason to give a shit about them than Ishgardians pre-HW.
FFXIV
If you get their city back, they'll stop shitting up the rest of Eorzea.
They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crimes. Somebody's doing the raping.
Or attack again
I mean they don't? The Eorzean Alliance doesn't give a fuck and the Scions don't give a fuck. It seems like it's just you who finds interest in what's going on there along with Yda and Papalymo.
If I had to guess the other scions will show up though even though they decided to seek out their own adventures because why the fuck not why make new NPCs
This! THINK OF THE KHLOES!
I want to be the one raping the Khloes though
You can't rape the willing.
They got their shit pushed in last time they tried that. They should know better than to try again.
Because Ala Mhigo stands between Garlemald and Eorzea and because it was one of the most advanced and strongest city-states militarily wise before it fell, thus potentially becoming a strong ally against the Garleans once the city is reclaimed?
you don't want to help your bro Raubahn and your other bro Widargelt?
Has Yoshi or anyone from the dev team commented on how they're changing the combat system? I want to know already if I will actually want to come back to this game.
I'm still trying to one one reason to give a shit about the story in this game. The only semi-interesting shit in 2.0 was retconned. 3.0 was some shit about elves I didn't care about.
Never feels like there are any dangerous characters doing shit that matters in this game, or that there's anything actually at stake that could be bad. Also doesn't help that the WoL is a fucking retard.
So far all they've said is that they're losing the crossclass system and replacing it with a pool of skills that each of the roles shares. So all tanks will naturally have access to Provoke, all healers will have access to Protect, etc.
>Raubahn
Does he give a shit? He's the Sultana's personal bodyguard, he's doing really well off.
One of the reasons the story sucks big dick is because "LOL CHOSEN ONE IS THE PLAYER GUISE". Like that shit actually kills any danger in the story.
Raubahn cares, but he didn't even have power over an army until 5 years ago. Ul'dah didn't have a state military and depended on Lolorito's Brass Blades and Fyrgeiss' Stone Torches for defense. The Immortal Flames are also mostly made up of adventurers and refugees, and depends on the Brass Blades for a lot of manpower. He can't really make a move without the approval of the rest of the Syndicate, but even so he still has some forces in Gyr Abania.
We have to get a shit about their plights because the Ala Mhigans and their MNK army ain't nothing to fuck with.
It also means a unified Eorzea on all fronts so we can finally go war and push back the Garlean Empire
WoL is like Superman. The focus isn't on the danger to him but rather to the people around him.
That's kind of a good thing, and I hope that they take this opportunity to make the classes more unique, but I really hope they do more than just further phase out the crossclass system that they obviously hate having to work with.
I don't know why modern day MMOs do this when it doesn't make any sense. Even moreso in XIV. You're this overpower character who get sidelined in most important parts of the story, you have no say in anything, and you're around to do bitch work.
If I'm doing to be everyone's bitch work I'd rather be treated as some random grunt working to help the important people on the sidelines. In order for that to work well though, there needs to be actual interesting shit going on.
You reclaim Ala Mhigo, and Garlemald won't have such an easy time attacking Eorzea. Not like they've actually done anything worthwhile in the past 5 years.
>I hope that they take this opportunity to make the classes more unique
Fat chance. Most i'm hoping for is a bit of an ability prune.
I'm hoping it will be somewhat major. At least drop TP; it's pretty damn useless in terms of balancing out any content.
I'd love for a spec styling a la "one of the few things WoW did right" so all the DPS Warriors and Dark Knights could go do that instead of taking up a tank slot.
>implying that viewing the political and social consequences of the JRPG trope of exposing the evil church and killing the pope isn't interesting
The leveling main story is typical JRPG, but the post-game storylines are more like Matsuno.
You can spruce it up all you want but we already knew we were going to win. What did we actually lose in the process of killing robot pope?
I dunno, they do a decent enough job of making the WoL the main character who does the important shit for most of the story. No one's like stealing your kills and taking the credit for shit you do.
there's just also a lot of bitchwork in between
Haurchefaunt ;_;
What's a DPS class that isn't a boring piece of ass? So far I've tried BLM, SMN and BRD.
>drop TP
I bet you're a damn dirty Monk player. Although it would be kind of nice, it would also be unfair to let non-magic classes have unlimited resources unless they add similar attacks for magic users. Also, do you really want to overwork the poor dev team even more by making them actually provide class/job customization? How dare you!
Of course we were going to win, but actually going into the social fallout isn't something most games even bother with. There are still potential consequences down the line, because the entire church didn't suddenly see Aymeric's side of things after Nidhogg died. There's even potential for a Halone Primal there.
>rape
>mooncats
One look at your penis and they become willing
How do you tell them apart?
I just want more fucking Postmoogle quests, goddammit.
I loved delivering letters and seeing shit happen.
WAR and SCH are the most fun DPS jobs any of them but LNC though DRG is fun after 34ish.
>So far I've tried BLM, SMN and BRD
I think I found your problem
Suncats have slit pupils, mooncats have fangs.
We do important shit in the form of game mechanics where there is no chance of actually not progressing or getting what you want.
It's a nice touch. I just haven't been able to really sink my teeth into the game's story and get interested in it. Maybe it's just not for me.
By not being retarded.
I play Tank with a little lolgoon on the side. The only time as a tank I really have to care about TP is if I decided to just span Overpower on mobs.
But god, it wouldn't be that tough to give a DPS spec to DRK/WAR, a healing spec to PLD, DPS specs to the mages, a Tank for MNK, and tell the rest of the classes to fuck off.
Yeah, I just can't find myself able to give a shit about the story. Probably because it's funnily enough not just given in cutscenes but rather making you constantly play errand boy to get it.
Sounds like you don't like casters. Don't bother with Machinist either.
Try the melee DPS classes.
well no, but that's most fiction focusing on a single heroic protagonist
I prefer "we're always going to win eventually but I actually get credit for win" to "we might not always win but when we do, someone else gets the credit"
>I just haven't been able to really sink my teeth into the game's story and get interested in it.
Don't worry, it just means you're not a plebeian.
Final Fantasy stories have ranged from okay to downright terrible, so it's somewhat to be expected, but XIV's is especially bad.
I have a WAR at 60 and that's been my main for the whole time. It's just so much fun. I wish I could have a DPS class that's like the WAR but has a raid DPS slot instead. A DPS class that uses a heavy 2h weapon is all anyone sane asks for.
The fact that Ilberd hates Raubahn for not doing anything sooner just makes him look like the huge retard he is. Most Ala Mhigans are shit and don't deserve help.
Is there a guide for WAR? Mainly maximizing DPS while tanking/off-tanking.
I would prefer "we might not always win, but when we do, I get the credit for the win."
Even if that were the case, even if we're still the the strongest warriors in Eorzea, we'll always be the interns.
Heavensward is easily one of the best Final Fantasy stories though
>Reclaim Ala Mhigo
>Eorzea Alliance gets a new nation under its banner
>Less refugees taking up Ul'dah resources
>Fist of Rhalgr returns
>Less Garlean Presence in Eorzea
There's literally no downside
Suncats are tanned, taller, muscular and have cats-eyes (basically Mithra but without the noses). Mooncats have normal eyes, fangs, shorter, pale and giant sluts.
What kind of loot can I expect on floor 51-60?
>are tanned, taller, muscular
>shorter, pale and giant sluts
Non of this is true.
Suncats are the major sluts.
ALA MHIGANS WERE KAINGS N SHIET
MONK PRIDE EORZEA WIDE
ALA MHIIIIIGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I feel like 1.0 had a much more intriguing story, and I get excited when I see elements of it coming back. If you don't know, you weren't a chosen one in 1.0. You were a random adventurer who had Echo, one of many that ended up working for Minfilia in her guild. Because your Echo allowed you to speak all languages, she began to send you on missions to act as an intermediary between beast tribes. Your first meeting with Ifrit, you don't even fight him. You have a conversation about the same things Gaius spoke about. About how the Eorzean leaders were too weak and complacent, and that the Amalj'aa and all people needed stronger, proper leaders to defend against Garlemald and that's why the Primals were being summoned.
The roegadyn from the MCH questline, Rostnsthal, was a major player in the 1.0 story for Limsa. He was once the Commodore to a corrupt Admiral (before Merlwyb). An Ascian came to him and warned him that Primals were coming, as they hadn't been summoned in Eorzea yet, but that he could have the power to fight back and save his country if he helped them. He sent the Knights of the Barracuda to raid Seal Rock only for them to all die getting a tablet and a horn like the ones on Louisoix's staff. Of course the Ascian backstabbed him, and he lost his station as Commodore. He changed his name, became a drunk, tried to start a pirate crew so he could make Limsa great again, and then ended up with the MCH guild. The Ascian ended up giving the horn to Mide to summon Alexander. You don't get interesting character stories like that with ARR because the focus is all on how amazing the WoL is.
>want to play Bard for this one Bard exclusive glamour
>But don't actually want to play Bard
The job looks absolutely miserable.
>suncats are taller
I don't think this is true. I play male suncat and my height is set to maximum, but I recall seeing another mancat who was taller and I recall him being mooncat, so I thought mooncats were taller.
None of those things will happen by the time we go to Garlemald or Doma in 5.0, so it's just going to turn into the current city states babysitting Ala Mhigo. And then I bet they'll try to take over the Black Shroud again like retards instead of fighting the garleans.
I only played it for that hat you get in the Crystal Tower, but I quit playing it after I heard it was just going to be MCH but worse.
That sounds more interesting to me, assuming you're not fluffing it all up.
We have all these primals who could be interesting godlike characters that should feel like a big deal. Instead, at best, we go "grr they're all evil" and slaughter them for weapons every couple patches.
>go into a 8 man
>other healer doesnt dps
>good, i'll be able to switch without worrying about fixing mistakes (people standing in aoes, etc), make the most out of my dps
>suddenly everyone is dying
>the tank gets hit by tankbuster
>healer is just standing there, popping off a heal with no urgency
>i end up healing more than the non-dpsing healer
THIS HAPPENS 9/10 TIMES.
The fuck is wrong with healers, I sware 2 god
Doma is kill
They're all huge, degenerate slutbags. Nice try.
i felt this way, especially when i first got wanderer's minuet which made our ws have casting times...but then i got empyreal arrow and the rest of the skills up to 60 and now i'm in love with it.
i often get sad when i'm synced down now in roulette
>implying the city states are going to do anything but cry about the beastmen until the WoL comes to rescue them again
Whatever you say, sunmanlet.
Today I cleared A9S for the first time.
That shit was fun even though our "main" healer was underperforming and made me work my ass off keeping everyone alive.
Uh all the Highlanders or ALA MHIGGERS AS I LIKE TO CALL THEM NEED TO GET OUT OF UL'DAH. Ul'dah is a Lalafell community and if you do not get out I will make all of the Highlanders slaves again!!!!!!!!!
Actually, I'm retarded. Machinist could wear it too. Although I'm not sure how much fun Machinist would be either.
I'm just not terribly fond if being so focused on DoTs. It's the same reason I didn't enjoy Summoner.
why do so many memesters play as lalafells?
>whenever the other healer starts getting flaky during the later add phases
SYNASTRY LIGHTSPEED GOGOGO
Also I just noticed that the Enhanced Benefic II buff's flavor text says "Your next Benefic II will deal critical damage."
>drop TP
It's needed for balancing. What they should do, is have attack speed increase TP regen so it is always full unless you use AoE moves. It shouldn't be possible to run out of TP if you're only using single target attacks.
at level 56 you get an ability that refreshes your DoTs and then your final skill is suped up in potency if you have both your DoTs on a foe, it's honestly great
Its the shitpost race
But then you still have to do multi-dotting and shit. I already disliked that even when I had bane.
lalafaggotry are the literal meme race, only attracting the biggest of in real life memefaggotry in kind.
>dude XD short annoying race weed lmao
ah i get ya, that can be annoying to keep up.
It's just two DOTs and not that hard to keep up.
On top of that, I don't want to watch TP/Mana because I'm a lazy piece of shit.
I'll think about it though.
DoTs are just zzz to me.
I'm trying to figure out what the hardest DPS is, is this list true? From easiest to hardest:
BRD>SMN>MNK>MCH>NIN>DRG>BLM
Idk about BLM, to me its extremely boring and I usually end up falling asleep playing it.
regarding TP/Mana i highly recommend you play around with your UI layout. i made mine so that parameter bar is close to my character/where i look during all the action.
This helped me tons playing as BRD and BLM
Literally reverse that list
I'd say NIN is easier than MCH but thats just me
What race were the Allag? Hyur?
MNK is the easiest.
>it's another 3 dumbasses rush to open the same chest and die to it being a trap in potd episode
That would still be wrong. BLM is one of the hardest jobs to play well in raids.
They were allag.
What kind of main character doesn't drop everything to go do quests with the slightest reason.
You're not main character material.
Nigga BRD is piss easy.
MSQ can get pretty good at times.
They were their own race.
The royalty was Hyuran, but they encompassed the world so it was a multiracial society. They hated Miqo'te and exiled them, though. And Lalafell may or may not have been created by them so we don't know if they were a part of it or not.
>BRD is the hardest dps class
>SMN
Oh, nevermind, the retard poster used > sign to denote which one's easier when talking about difficulty. Fucking retard.
seeing both of them during that scene was so god damn good.
loved the ending to Dragonsong War.
This is so wrong it hurts.
BRD is easily the most difficult class to maximize DPS with.
SMN is a close second.
Your list might be correct if you're judging how hard they are to play at an absolute minimum skill level in DF roulettes.
>SMN easier than BRD
>MCH so high
>BLM not hardest
Trash list
