I know you can skip them and I don't want to use summons but I am having trouble on focusing on two enemies at once.
I have no problem with Yahim but once there's two of them I am absolutely fucked.
Any good tips?
obligatory git gud
Ryder Nelson
They're very weak to the mace
Austin Walker
I am using mace.
Lincoln Nguyen
I tried beating DS2 with a keyboard and mouse; this is where I quit. There should be invisible walls within the boss room. I was never able to find them.
Connor Gutierrez
Try and take out a big chunk of health from the one that jumps up on your starting platform, so it's either dead or can be quickly finished when you're on the ground floor. Then just strafe around and wait for one of them to jump at you and leave itself open for a longish time. It's been a while but I think that's what I did.
Mason Sanders
Dodge. Seriouslly. They are downright weak to magic and even without it you should be learning by now to time your dodges so you can avoid each attack.
In other words: git gut
Mason Johnson
Don't use the lock on.
Kayden Taylor
Kill the first one on the ledge where you start out before engaging the other two. Try and keep both of them on the screen at the same time while circling around the room. Bait or wait for the closest one to attack and then take one or two hits on him. Don't get greedy. Keep circling and repeat. Eventually, you'll kill one and it will be a ton easier with a single target.
Andrew Peterson
Just be very careful. Don't be afraid to take like 20 minutes on the fight. Don't swing at one if you can't see the other. Don't swing at one if the other looks like it might attack. Their attacks are fairly easy to dodge, even as 2. Just wait until there are good openings. Don't try and make openings, because they exploit the shit out of not having your shield up
Levi Garcia
If you're fast enough killing the first one and don't jump down you can kill the 2nd or get it low as shit before the third one jumps up too. When the third jumps it's obviously better to jump down so you have more room. If you have to fight both at once just focus on the one that's low and remember that not being hit is more important than hitting them, so just be really patient.
Michael Myers
Lightning rapier with 20 endurance rapes them. I was able to kill all of them on the ledge.
Tyler Harris
Come back later I guess. If you haven't done the no mans wharf loop go do that to get some better levels/gear and it'll swing you back around.
These guys still fuck me up occasionally, one of the more difficult bosses in the game.
Bentley Watson
FYI OP, mace is fun to use, but its slow as shit. Get ourself a sword that attacks faster. Alot of Danksouls 2 bosses and enemys arent staggered at all by heavy weapons.
You need to be able to run in, attack quickly, and jump/roll away. Mace/hammer/axes swing way too slow.
STR builds get shit on in PVE in Darksouls 2. DS2 is all about DEX.
Colton King
They're terrific stunlockers so don't bog yourself down with heavy armour. Don't rely on locking on to follow them, free aim and whittle them down with potshots.
You want as much stamina up time as possible so never get greedy, take your time. Most of their attacks are big windup blows that lose tracking in motion. Just let their spin2win attack wear itself out, and use it to keep a bead on both sentinels.
Logan Rivera
I've already cleared No Man's Wharf entirely.
I usually kill Yahim on the platform and then another Sentinel jumps on, I take some of his / her health and then jump down but I take shitload of damage from fall.
Another guy in another thread told me that mace is really good in DaS2 and I've been trying it ever since.
I am tired of Broadsword, any other good weapon I can get in early game?
Nicholas Barnes
2 hand the mace for more damage vs them Upgrade it to +5. Mace shits on them. Kill the first one on the ledge, drop down and observe, their attacks are very telegraphed, use magic if you want, there no rush to kill them, poke and control the fight with your movements, moving counter clockwise from their own movements
Cameron Harris
Pretty much anything the blacksmith sells. Can't go wrong with the longsword or estoc.
Andrew Harris
I used a Battle Ax for the entire game and it never let me down.
Jordan Hughes
If you like the Mace, theres a Morning Star right at the beginning of the game in Majula. Theres a corpse on a ledge over the cliff, right near the entrance into the forest where that cyclops/ogre hangs out that leads to huntsmans copse.
Morningstar does slightly less damage than the Mac, but it has alot of bleed damage. It also just looks brutal with all the spikes. I took out probably the first half of the game with just my upgraded morning star.
Jackson Harris
For me I stayed on that upper platform and after a while one of them would jump up there on its own.
I think that if you stay up there and don't come down the other one will jump up as well.
Logan Bennett
Get a greatsword and cleave them dead. I used to do it in 3 swipes.
Henry Bennett
I have morning star but I noticed it's not that effective as mace.
It almost feels like year ago when I made thread that I have trouble with Taurus Demon...
Brandon Gomez
This is it
Logan Davis
Well you're getting better at least, Taurus demon is a joke fight and this one is legitimately difficult.
Henry Hall
Your problem is that you're jumping down too early. Kill the first guy on the ledge (you should be able to with your mace) and the second guy will jump up and you wail on him for a bit. The third guy will join you and THAT'S when you jump down. The third one won't follow you right away but the second one will and you need to use that time to finish it off. Now it'll be 1v1.
That's how I remember doing it.
Anthony Brown
If there wasn't for Sup Forums I probably wouldn't even get past Ornstein and Smough
When I jump down I need to heal from fall damage so there's not much time to finish the second one
Andrew Evans
Prepare your ass to get fucked OP.
Alot of bosses in DS2 are stupidly easy to beat, so they throw multiple enemies into the boss area, or have multiple bosses at once.
I think they made it with multiplayer in mind, so that 2 or 3 players would have their own boss to attack, but it just fucks up singleplayer runs, turning boss fights into extremely annoying and drawn out fights where you just chip away for 30minutes at 2-3 boss enemies because you hardly ever get a chance to attack.
Jack Thompson
I think the most exhilarating fight of DaS2 for me was the Belfry Gargoyles.
I died like a bitch to them 5 times, decided to go do the rest of the game then came in and had the most thrilling fight where I dodged the fuck out of everything they threw at me and dominated the fuck out of them.
Nicholas Thomas
Can you buy the ring from the cat that reduces/eliminates fall damage?
Gabriel Anderson
You can use one of thouse soul gems and then fall afterwards.
Since the soul gem fills up your health bar slowly by the time you fall, recover from the fall and start to run around your health will be filled up already.
Easton Thompson
Do the drop attack on those fucks, it prevents the damage iirc. Wield a greatsword for maximum style points.
Colton Rogers
Good idea
Wish me luck Sup Forums I am going in... I will report the results.
Liam Rogers
This is also some good tech. I fucking hate the lifegem system but it's necessary to plan those health regen moments.
Oliver Turner
Make sure you have decent adp and roll allot.
I was having trouble at first but then I realized the trick was to not leave the platform until the first 2 are dead. Once you defeat the first the other two will jump on the platform. Don't jump down, keep rolling while concentrating your attack on one. After a little bit one of them will jump off and you'll have another 1 vs 1 fight keep trying to dispatch him Don't jump down till the 2nd is defeated even if the other jumps on again. Keep some throwing items on hand for when the last gets down to a sliver of health .
I beat them with that technique using a scimitar.
Ayden Hall
If it hasn't been changed then most blunt weapons are going to be the most effective But really pick what moveset you like the most, saving yourself two or three hits isn't worth using a weapon you don't like
Ryan Nelson
Now I want to replay DS2 way more than DS1 or DS3. What went wrong?
John Rogers
DS2 is a good boss gallery game. It's especially good for a quick blunt weapon run. Shit's fun.
Levi Torres
I actually enjoy the entirety of the game except harvest valley/earthen peak
those areas are annoying and have garbage tier bosses too
Connor Allen
Damn I was having fine rolls in No Man's Wharf and now I am doing fatrolls? Tell me at what stat did I fucked up.
Jason Campbell
>9 vitality >big phat shield and elite knight armor There ya go. I don't want to tell you how to play but you might be better off with a normal shield if you even need one
Alexander Williams
You didn't dump anything in vitality.
Carson Bailey
>84.3%
Stay at or less than 70% m8
Jordan Sullivan
Not to mention that there's tons of quick ways to make all sorts of builds broken early on by grabbing +1/+2 drops.
Hell, it's so simple but I love grabbing two chariots lance early on and making a bleed build.
Charles Diaz
Too much weight, keep it at/near 30% for maximum roll speed.
Christopher Phillips
Now I equipped Greatsword two handed and was slow as fuck.
Ethan Wilson
Greatsword requires 50str or something, you need to up your equip load. With that you can use heavier shit with less of a penalty.
Luke Richardson
Make sure to wear the ruin helm
Asher Rivera
>9 vit >knight armor and big ass shield ???
Isaac Rivera
How did you even get to that point in the game by while being so inept.
Grayson Robinson
Do you just not check weight %'s and just assume anything under 99.9% is the same?
Logan Brooks
Let's do this
Carter Flores
I am sticking back to mace
Also the reason I am not using regular shield is because enemies don't get staggered.
Ayden Thompson
rip
Angel Cook
pop an effigy and get the NPC helper to tank some hits while you shove that greatsword in their asses.
Thomas Sanchez
I want to beat the game without summons.
Easton Howard
You're blocking too much probably You should be focusing on dodging in every souls game
Alexander Hughes
Then git gut, try again later because dying 100 times over will only affect your performance negatively.
Dylan Harris
Try to damage the first one that jumps up to you as much as possible before the second arrives. After the second one gets up, jump down yourself. After that focus on killing the one you already started on down below.
If you're still having a lot of trouble you might be overdue to level up some/upgrade your weapon.
Josiah Richardson
Get the Black Smith's Hammer. Stay on the top platform. DODGE
Zachary Torres
Get the best weapon you have available right now, make sure you can hit FAST with it.
As soon as you get through the fog gate STAY on the platform, do NOT jump down.
When the first guy jumps up make sure you're NEAR him at all times. Literally all of their attacks have a huge range but you can avoid them completely by hugging them and circling around them to their right side. Just smack, circle, smack, circle and so on.
One the first guy is killed, STAY on the platform and wait until the next guy jumps up and repeat the whole thing.
The third guy you can defeat by jumping down and again STAY on his ass and do not step away since they have huge range and will stunlock your ass if their hit connects.
That's about it.
Oliver Fisher
HAPPENING
Luke Perez
they are easy if you're using drangleic shield. Just keep your distance and make sure there's a window between their attacks. Make them attack at the same time or so and attack them back. Forcus most damage on jsut one of them so you can 1vs1
the key to win this battle is to manage your stamina to use your shield. when they are not attacking keep your shield down to regenerate it.
I don't think there any other easier way than this, you can parry but it's not an easy task
John Ross
Sidestrafing while hugging bosses in DS2 works pretty much all the time.
Zachary Phillips
2h the mace, enchant it before dropping in using the enchant item that makes it glow blue
immediately rush the one that is at the same level as you and roll to dodge its hit and strike immediately, repeat and he should be down in a few hits
then you gotta take on two. Pretty much the same thing applies, you need to be aggressive and kill the 2nd one you pick quickly before the other one compensates.
Adam Moore
GJ OP. You better not come back to ask for help with the ten other bullshit bosses the game has.
