>It really was a fucking Shining game all along.
People have been saying this for quite a while now, it's just been reskinned as a Valkyria game.
Yeah I know. I've said it ever since it got announced. But now it's not just giant melee weapons and song magic, but also dragons? Sega, please.

Also can someone tell me whether or not the new shining games are any good gameplay-wise? I've only heard complaints from the old shining fans who are upset about the lack of centaur and other subhuman pussy.

>Tony Taka
>can only draw one face
>but draws it damn well
Bless him.
Looks like the lovechild of Steam Knight from Brave Fencer Musashi and Tower Knight from Demon's Souls.
So huh, the tactical gameplay are completely out of the window?
Rather have a MG42, personally.
...
I do not mind Tony Taka
Mostly because I very much doubt TOny Taka had any imput on how the game turned out gameplay and setting wise, reading the interviews, its very clear that retards up in management are infinitely more guilty than whatever minor guilt he may accidentally bear.

A Magic Arts industry engineer talented enough to have once had her own workshop. She is a taciturn and serious worker who was very popular due to her legitimate skills. She is the oldest woman in the unit, who appears cool, but is actually quite emotional. Although she doesn’t say much, she always worries about her comrades. She is best friends with Brigitta. Surprisingly, she enjoys puns and mutters them out of nowhere with a straight face.
Fucking terrible. Goddamnit, sega.

A former machinery and jewelry craftswoman and designer. She is a reputable designer and one of the rare people within Magic Arts industry goods that stresses the importance of often neglected “Ragnite Designs.” She is a simple and naive girl who is well attuned to fashion and loves to talk. She is friendly and gets along well with others regardless of their gender, and is a natural swindler. She doesn’t concern herself with social positions and is good friends with Ophelia. She has a side to her that can’t read the room, but is a capricious genius. If she likes something, she improves at it, but if not…
>Have to resort to stealing from western anime to make characters
>Implying Yang wasnt a knock-off of another character
>the main heroine is the most boring of all the chicks in the game
>take away the one thing that set her apart from the others that made her good Her spats.
I will never stop being mad.
I honestly forgot if Akame ga kills anime adaptation or RWBY came first. Either way both are shit though
They are indeed shit, but Akame ga Kiru's manga came 'way' before RWBY
Tony and his lewd goddamn elves.
I played the first VC and enjoyed it a lot and, while this looks pretty different, I think it looks good.
>Azure Revolution takes place in 1853

Aren't the games in separate universes or something?
Yes.
Not really surprised, a lot of people were already calling it a Shining Resonance 2. I would've said that they are just trying to ride on the successful Steam release of the first Valkyria by releasing that game instead of ShiningRes2 but we have yet to get any news on a western release, I'm still surprised they didn't try with the first Shining Resonance since it had almost no competition in the JRPG genre in the west when it was released.
Old Raita >= Tony > Current Raita
And why would the VC2/3 director be involved in anything Shining?
Retards. Videogame projects don't work that way.
Ophelia a cute.

Miranda Vilfort

Princess Ophelia’s Imperial Guard. She was born a lower-class noble and is Godot’s younger sister. She is a girl of the same age as Ophelia, and while her playmate, also serves her. She is cheerful and lively, and speaks her mind clearly and without hesitation. She is overprotective when it comes to Ophelia. However, Miranda herself has no restraint towards Ophelia. She hoped to be taken along upon Ophelia’s participation in the Vanargand, but remains at Jutland Castle as domestic defense by the express wishes of Princess Ophelia.
>tfw not playable
I hoped you're not making the implication that Raita isn't drawing sameface, but then I checked those repeating zeroes.
Why is reskinning a game from an engine a bad thing all of a sudden? Capcom made 99% of their games reskinned from Mega Man back in NES days.
...
No one's complaining about them using engines. Hell I bet the game would look better on CANVAS because it doesn't look like it's on it.
This is the worst case scenario. Game wears another series's skin. If it sells, this is all we're going to see from here on. If it doesn't, Valkyria Chronicles gets dragged down with the Shining game's death throes.
>Ragnite was a kinda neat method to have technology develop differently but was magical enough to sate the fears of not drawing in the JRPG crowd
>Throw that out for outright magic and magitek because that's the same thing as Ragnite, right?!
Well on the plus side this game is a guaranteed bomb in America. So either way, regardless of how well it sells in Japan they won't bother wasting our time with this dreck beyond the first one.
Also I got to say, doesn't magic being prevalent also make Valkyrur less impressive? Why care about supernaturally strong and empowered women when everyone's throwing magic around anyways?
