Picking a processor

I'm building a laptop and I have the choice between a i7-6820hk and a i7-6700hq.

Anyone have any experience with either of these CPU's? Which one will be unable to play games in the future first?

I heard the 6820 is better for overclocking.

Should I have said configure a laptop? I'm doing a tour in Afghanistan, and my current laptop is kill. So i'm gonna buy an alienware cuz I can.

Go with a laptop that gives you either a full GPU or the full CPU. Don't buy alienware because they are just meme machines overpriced to hell. As much as Razer makes shit they also make some decent laptops, also look at Eurocom, ASUS and Gigabyte.

The reason I picked Alienware is because those are the most reliable laptops I've encountered during my various deployments. Apples are shit unless you baby them, Everyone I knew with a MSI always had MOBO problems, and shoddy craftsmanship.

But the people who had alienware laptops never had problems with them, and true to the meme the people that had them were borderline retards, and treated their laptops as such and those things held together through the worst of it.

I'm not building shit in this shit hole I have to live in. When you have to live in a dusty tent the last thing you want is have parts exposed.

Get a laptop with good cooling instead. You're going to be thermal throttled. Also look for a laptop with fine mesh removable fan filters. There's dust everywhere over there, and it kills hardware.

Won't matter high end processors go to fucking waste in laptops. In the very distant future where they could be considered completely obsolete, they would have burned out 10 years prior from being in a fucking laptop.

you'll get a alright laptop for gayming and it's not a piece of shit that breaks in a year

get the best I5 you can afford
games dont use the extra stuff the I7 has
