I'm about to play DaS for the first time. I played DeS but spoiled myself with wiki, but will try to not to with DaS. Yet, there is one question: are STR and Dex weapons still only big and slow for str and fast for dex, or is there more variety in a single playthrough?

Who was in the wrong here?

What games actually encourage one, or both, as viable, other than Souls?

STR all the way.

You can have quite fast club weapons that scale with STR and some spears/halberds that scale decent with DEX and are slow/big., though in general the tendency for slow STR and fast DEX is of course there.
STR is a lot better this time around though because you have poise and don't stagger every hit.

Also just in general there are more weapon animations/attack types that are useful. I really couldn't get myself to use halberds or spears in Demon's since their animations are dogshit, while in DaS Halberds certainly belong in top tier.

The original anime has a great soundtrack and atmosphere and did a great job at adapting it imo. Any adaptation is going to lose some of the essence of the original and it's almost impossible for an adaptation to be as good or better, but I thought the Berserk anime series was great.

1. Bows are Str weapons. To draw a full English/Welsh longbow you have to do the equivalent of lifting 100 pounds with one arm.

2. The type arrowhead used makes a difference in how the arrow penetrates a hard surface.

What bothers me is that the biggest factor of the arrow doing fuck all is the angle of the armor. It's been proven that the angle matters a fuck ton, but nobody mentions that usually.

most likely why they shot it at an arc so that the angle also had gravity going for it as well as a favorable angle
