Come up with 8 unique worlds for a platformer that haven't been used before or have been used very rarely. No grass world - fire world - ice world - desert world etc. etc.
Come up with 8 unique worlds for a platformer that haven't been used before or have been used very rarely...
a molecule
Cyberspace
Musical world
Already been done. Mix between cyber and reality as well and even just physically inside a computer too.
Rayman
A world made entirely out of giant undulating worms that oscillate eguarly, so the world changes shape depending on time of day
You could have enormous tectonic worms that move incredibly slowly, all the way down to like ~6 ft diameter worms that might shift if you whack them but you can still run along them
he didn't play gears of war 2
An office building world
Vales
you're absolutely right, those games fucking suck
What the fuck did i just type?
Meant to say Favelas
Inside a David Attenborough documentary
Siberian world
Lisbon world
Ethopian world
Santiago world
Dublin world
Mongolian world
British Colombian world
Swedish world
Game Show Land
Railyard Land
Earthquake Land
Plastic Land
Balloon Land
Seabase Land
Oilfield Land
Lumbermill Land
>Savannah (Grassland with asian flare)
>Sewer (Underground + Water levels)
>Deep Sea (Deep dark ocean. Water + horror levels. Angler fish boos)
>Asian ruins (pagodas n shit)
>Junkyard (haunted boo level with a mixture of factory level)
>Ice Age (Dinosaur level mixed with snow level)
>Super Small World (every level is actually a single enemy. Like platforming across one big goomba, or koopa. Koopa germs serve as enemies)
>Bowser's City (a dystopian urban city level, complete with police koopas, sky scrapers, construction goombas etc. Fight Bowser in his snazzy penthouse)
What about a world with a playing band in the background and the whole ground is one big soundwave and as you move around the floor forms differently around you and the game music also changes to reflect the shape of the floor
an upside down coast with roads made of rusty wires that electrocute things randomly off the coast of argentina during an alien invasion
a space station made entirely of gelatin that shuffles about due to reduced gravity and is basically a giant bounce house
a huge house with a giant living in it but the giant is a disgruntled step-mother and her house is full of old knick-knacks that she hoards, you know, like those weird felix the cat clocks and resin dolls and shit
a rodeo arena thats entirely populated by insect related puns. cow ants. bull ants. horse flies. etc. throw in an alaskan bull worm for good measure.
a vintage gas station with gimmicks and stupid shit relating to oil and vending machines.
a baptist church that acts as the breather level. the only thing you do is press up when its time to stand, then press down to make them sit again, and press down again when its time to pray. it's also a very boring rhythm game
a DMV that is now an evil super fortress and all of the cars are trying to kill you, liscence plate pressers try to kill you, cops ambush you, etc.
and finally, you arrive at your destination. a fast food joint and the entire stage is those weird playgrounds but now theyre full of killer death traps and twice the "chocolate logs" in the ball pit. the final boss is your annoying schoolyard bully who has fused with ronald mcdonald, the burger king, and the wendys chick into an abominable amalgamation and if you beat him you get a free happy meal. good luck
rate/hate
A world that is on the body of a giant but the giant is dressed like a businessman and huge miniscule cities have been established inside his pockets and briefcase
>unique
OP just play old games. No such thing as 'unique'
>Favelas
Call of duty
sm64
World 1: "Eaijeoa", a world made of trees of magma.
World 2: "AHLEI", a world where it rains gold all the time.
World 3: "Hnilhaland", a world themed around weapons that shoot candy.
etc etc etc
Your proposed exercize is an imbecile exercise because anything based on our world has been used already in one form or another as world themes in video games.
>Inside of a Whale
>A giant's house
>The Moon
>A giant tree
>A haunted graveyard
>Inside of a giant robotic version of yourself
Post-apocalypse world
Alternative-universe world
Rule 63 world
1-dimension world
Edgy 90's Advertisement world
Goo world
Black hole world
Rollercoaster world
Literally all already done in mario games
>the joke
>your head
>I was merely pretending
>Edgy 90's Advertisement world
I need this in my life
>Histrionic world
every power up/save point/item must be interacted with before you can complete the level
>Narcissistic world
>level is in black and white and does not move unless the player interacts with it
nothing moves unless the player is interacting with it
>Avoidant world
>inverse of narcissistic world, everything near the player sits still or moves away when he comes near
everything moves until the player touches it
>Paranoid world
>random bits of movement in the corners of the screen, music is eerily calm with the occasional 'creepy' noise
enemies look like background elements and save-spots, power-ups etc.
>Obsessive-Compulsive world
each level has a 'rule' that must be followed (no jumping, cannot touch the same platform an even number of times, end with only X coins collected)
>Dependent world
player cannot interact with the world at all
you must coerce enemies into walking over buttons/switches to complete levels
>Masochistic world
most jumps cannot be completed without taking damage from some source (i.e. knockback from an enemy, walking over damaging platforms)
health sources are scarce, so you must plan your route well in advance
>Depressive world
only 1 level that requires you to walk in a straight line to the right
the further right you move, the slower you go until you stop completely and the game ends
this sounds like the most pretentious game of all time
School World
>Math level
>Science Level
>Library Level
>P.E level
>Lunch level
>Bus level
>inside a whale
Play Super Monkey Ball 2, not a traditional platformer in any way but I'd still call it one
A refrigerator.
A dry cleaners.
A bottling factory where you play as an escaping liquid.
A black hole.
The interior of a giant version of yourself that moves as you do.
A film set.
A barbershop.
A car engine.
Fart World
haha
Just make your expression original. You'll probably be hard pressed to create an original world rather than creating something actually interesting and fun.
Make an Ice World, but its next to the Volcano land, so because you beat the boss of the volcano, the lava is now melting the Ice world.
>Sewer
