When it comes to FF9, I think they let the concept art doodle up whatever wacky chibi shit he wanted and they took it verbatim.

Quina serves the purpose of contrasting with the game's themes, in a game where everyone is clueless with what to do with their lives and trying to find out what their purpose in life is, Quina is a breath of fresh hair because she KNOWS what the wants, she wants to eat and travel around the world and have fun, she's pretty much ''ignorance is bliss'' given form, she is indulgence and she contrasts with everyone else.

Its supposed to make you understand that she already won against Necron at the very beginning, she has a child like view of things that makes her be an happy go round Qu that gives no fucks about the rest and lives for what he/she cares about.

If you honestly dont bother to analyze shit its only understandable that you wont understand the game and narrative.

I playd the game like 5 times, 100% at least twice and that's the stupidest, most stilted explanation you could scrap about the character, please, choke on dicks and die you pretentious little shit

I remember being seriously annoyed that at endgame Steiner was hitting like 3k harder than zidane and zidane wasn't even fast enough to have a 2:1 turn advantage to balance it. I'd have to go back and check, but i think i remember seeing that even after min-maxing his growth (which is an absolute bitch to do in 9) zidane can't hit 9999 with his attack command.
