Saw this at Toys R Us when I was there earlier, but I also see this kinda stuff in every single toy aisle in almost every store I go to. (Target, Walmart, etc.)
I've also seen kids, like maybe 10 years old, wearing FN@F shirts.
How the fuck did this turn into a thing for kids?
Saw this at Toys R Us when I was there earlier...
Because you don't have to play the games anymore, you just watch other people play it or talk about it on reddit or other forums.
If kids had to play the game they would have nightmares.
there's this real cool site called
youtube dot com
funny ass vids check it out
yourtubes and minecraft generation mang
...
There was a lot of merchandising for horror movies back in the 80's but not like this. The whole YouTube facecam is attributable to the cause.
The new game was actually good though.
Imagine the fuckin' bank Scott's rolling in.
Jesus.
I remember having toys of Swamp Thing, Terminator, Alien, and Predator.
None of those things were for kids.
Jesus Christ, when did this happen?
...
Hey, remember Robo Cop, Starship Troopers, Predator and Aliens had toys and merchandise aimed at kids?
God has left us.
underage b&
They make mini-figs out of YouTubers now?
How about "Dinosaurs Attack!" cards by fucking Topps.
Aimed directly at kids, and just as gory as any torture porn flick.
>How the fuck did this turn into a thing for kids?
Because a game based around screamers will only ever be entertaining to children.
because only kids play this stupid game desu senpai
its some garbage indie video game, it began as a thing for kids
For some reason kids love this shit. My niece and her friends have trading cards, figures, masks, etc. I highly doubt any of them has played the game, they only like to watch some youtuber playing and getting scared.
tl;dr: For some reason kids like people being scared. Fucking kids, sometimes they scare me too.
It actually began as Scott's last attempt to make a successful game after years of badly received games (Chipper and sons) and well received but not popular games (Desolate Hope).
The only reason he made FNAF is because everyone's reviews of Chipper and sons said that they dead eyed wood land animals was "too creepy".
Who?
Why are you going to toys r us? And why do you go down toy aisles?
Here's an example.
Why do you hang out in so many kids toy sections?
It was always for kids.
Speaking of Desolate hope, now that Scott has this wider fan base, I hope that he makes Desolate Abandon. I just want to see my machine bros again and intensify intensity.

Then
>what are some of you're favourite series?
>Ah well there's Ninja Turtles, Pokemon, Transformers
Now
>what are some of your favourite series?
>Yogscast: Shadow of Israphel, Game Theory: FNAF legacy, Roblox School Shooting Survival
>Work at K-Mart
>tfw that shit into the clearance aisle
>Mfw seeing kids in public wearing this shit
damn, K-Mart is essentially one big clearance aisle, that's gotta hurt
>At K-Mart
>Had to run in really quick and get something, and K-Mart was the closest thing
>Checking out
>Lady at the register asks if I want to sign up for K-Mart's card club shit whatever
>Say not tonight and say thank you
>"You and everyone else."
He's joking/being sarcastic you dumb fuck
Thanks user. I forgot that existed for a solid week.
Do all the kids come here because they aren't old enough for a reddit account?
Or are you all a child stuck in a man's body?
Maybe paedophiles that hang out in toy sections?
It has to be one of these.
ITT
>go into Toys R Us
>see Doom posters
>Week from Black Friday
>Month from Christmas
>lol y r u shopping 4 toys
Only toys really get into clearance territory, along with seasonal stuff once their season starts to end.
Wow, kids, especially young boys, love dark and spooky things! What is this witchcraft?
It's almost like you don't remember how Freddy Krueger, a fucking child killer and molester, became a beloved childhood icon with his own toys, games, dolls, etc. in the 80s. Same with Robocop, Jason, Rambo, the Terminator, and all the other R-rated characters of the day.
I've worked at department stores with tpy departments, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Sometimes you're stocking toys, and you see something that you know shouldn't be aimed at kids.
Also, some people here have kids of their own.
Stop whining you fucks. "Hurr I'm so old XD" No you're not you Buzzfeed special snowflake. You're in your 20s, the prime of your life.
>"Why do kids like these spooky things? It's so creepy, crazy kids. When did things get so weird? Why, when I was young..."
Jesus, if your childhood selves could see you now they'd be so disappointed.
>Be 32
>Guy on 4chins says you're in your 20s
I guess I should go to a board with user IDs like leddit
...
Stop getting so mad that these people are paying the shit out of your kiddie toys
This, holy shit. I don't like FNAF myself but this thread is filled with people talking and acting like old stereotypes who've forgotten what it's like to be a kid.
What if Resident Evil had never come out in the 90s and was just released today and ended up getting a huge fanbase of kids who thought Jill was hot, Nemesis was a badass and the part in RE2 with the zombie hands in the walls I the RPD was the scariest thing ever? Would you fucks just whine and complain that it was YouTube LP bait?
Grimes is my waifu :3 BACK OFF!
dude
not many kids were into horror when i was younger
yeah, we had our shit, but most kids were scared of it. we also didn't have the advent of the internet for about 10-15 years, so that is a huge game changer and even then another 5-10 years for fucking youtube to be created and then ANOTHER 5-7 years for fucking PDP to fucking exist to meme shit.
god dammit i hate kids today
Everyone knew who Freddy, Jason, Pinhead, and Chucky were when they were still going strong.
We all loved horror. We'd just cover our eyes if it got to scary.
Any super popular game that all the big name youtubers play will be the game that their 6-25 year old viewers will love. It just so happens that Scott went full merch mode that we have stuff like this. It's the same with Minecraft.
The ridiculous thing about FNAF merch is not how much of it there is but how much of it actually sells. That whole inventories of the stuff gets sold out on a regular basis
I don't give a shit about kids liking spooky stuff
I give a shit about kids liking mentally caustic trash like FNAF and eating whatever these meme LPer autists vomit
If you grew up in the 80s, you were around to see the explosion of slasher movie villains who were extremely popular with kids. If you lived in the 90s, you were around for Goosebumps which was literally the largest selling children's series before Hary Potter, not to mention Are You Afraid of the Dark and other spooky shows marketed for kids. You and your friends were either very sheltered or had over protective parents.
Kids like being scared. This is a culturally proven fact. They also latch onto mascot types with distinct designs, personalities are a bonus. FNAF has both of those, hence it being popular.
You literally sound like a grandpa and I bet you don't even have kids and probably aren't even in your 30s.
did you live with or around evangelists or mormons user? serious question.
How is FNAF trash?
For five dollar games, they aren't that bad and you can tell Scott has some decency and talent as a game designer (If it wasn't clear enough in Desolate Hope and Pilgrim's Progress)
Even FNAF world which was a shitshow, was taken of steam, refunded and put back on steam fixed and for free.
Now, the LPers abusing the game is another issue entirely.
Video games are for children, user.
Why are you so surprised?
>user circa early 90s
>"I don't give a shit about kids liking gross stuff. I give a shit about kids liking mentally caustic trash like Ren and Stimpy and eating whatever these meme Nickelodeon autists vomit."
Or you could just admit that you only hate FNAF because it's popular and Markiplier and furries like it, even though just about everything with a fanbase has some degree of annoying degenerates fucking it up. That would save you a lot of dignity.
Are you a foreigner or did you live with pokemon card burning tier parents? Cause I'm an europoor and shit like Tales from the Crpyt were popular here.
It has to be the epick maymay Youtuber community. That's the reason you can also find """action figures""" of """famous""" Youtubers' Minecraft avatars. Only Youtube could transform a game obviously geared towards autists and furries and make it for young kids.
