What is the best Star Wars game of all time and why is it Rogue Squadron 2?

What is the best Star Wars game of all time and why is it Rogue Squadron 2?

This game still looks really good

The Incom T-65 X-Wing is the fighter that killed the Death Star.

Is this the one that launched with the gamecube? This game was fucking great.

Nope. Shadows of the Empire is my personal favorite, but that's mostly from nostalgia. Rogue Squadron II is objectively the best.

>play RS2 on launch as a kid
>my fucking face when experiencing 2016 graphix in 2001

Shadows of the Empire has not aged well to be honest.

rogue squadron 1 is the best star wars game. the sequels are waaay too easy.

What an awesome fucking game. I liked playing in first person and moving my head around with the c stick

Rebel Strike had its moments.

Those on foot missions fucking sucked.

Knights of the Old Republic II is still my favorite Star Wars game, followed by TIE Fighter and Jedi Academy.

This is the first game that ever made me rage
Razor Rendezvous can suck my ass

Also I didn't know the word "rendezvous" when I was a kid and pronounced that level "ren-dez-vuss"

>Factor Five was fucked over by Sony
>Buried in some Disney Vault is a nearly complete ROM of the Rogue Squadron collection for Wii.

X-Wing master race
>Killed the Death Star
>Still used 30 years after Endor while the Y-Wing, A-Wing and B-Wing were phased out
>The Fighter of choice for the elite squadrons of the Alliance.

why would the a-wing be phased out? that thing was fucking nuts.

Fuck this Medical Frigate. Shouldn't even be on the front lines in the first place.

Because JJ Abrams is a hack.

Jedi Academy and Outcast are the fucking shit
So many hours spent on MP jesus christ

...

>You will never save Sev.

A new version was "accidentally" teased during a visit to the studio by prince harry.

I remember some dude made a mod of him pinned on a cross on the swoop vehicle and called it roshhole
Mods deleted it immediately
Wish I saved it

...

Anyone got that webm of the retarded cartoon with lightsaber helicopters?

The only reason I played rs 3 was to play 2 Co-op

What's the best way to play the RS series. I don't have a gamecube.

Thats a weird way to spell 'TIE Fighter'

>no hyperdrive
>no torpedoes
>no shields
>paper thin armor
>can't land without dedicated docking station
it's utter shit but It becomes awesome when you realize they made it so intentionally.

Emulator or just play the last two games with the Wii's backwards compatibility

Life is cheap to the Empire.

TIE Fighter is still the best.

I think it's the British spelling. It adds superfluous (you)s

Rebel Assault 2 was my fucking jam, I don't know how it holds up today but this was awesome when I played it regularly

>tfw you see the video about the trainwreck that was rouge squadron at the end and how it died...

STOP

>Jedi Academy
>That evil route where you tell everyone to go fuck themselves and seize power for yourself
Why the fuck don't more games let you do that sort of shit, that was awesome.

It doesn't, sadly. It's still great for nostalgia

Honestly I was playing Rise of The Tomb Raider and I felt kinda bored with it.

Decided to look up my steam games and noticed I still haven't fired up Republic Commando, BF2, Jedi Outcast and Rogue Squadron on my PC. Download them all, end up playing Republic Commando for hours. And had to remind myself Rogue Squadron was there too. This thread just reminded me I have other games.

Fuck I miss the time games were this good. I'm glad I'm still able to play them without nostalgia eyes and this shit still holds up.

what did he mean by this?

dark forces 2

>not Star Wars Galaxies

It was too arcadish

My pick would be Republic Commando

>X-wing Vs tie fighter with modern graphics, multiplayer and not a nintendo exclusive

Games really went to shit after, I'd say 2012.

>tfw beginner still kicked my ass back then

Playing the battle of Endor was mindblowing back in the day. And the game still holds up like a champ. In fact, I'm gonna go replay it right now.

I must have replayed the stormtrooper spy part a million times but I can't remember anything past it

>That mission where Wedge takes out a Star Destroyer with a fucking B-Wing
Wedge needs his own fucking movie.

have you tried playing it again?

It aged like fucking milk and wasn't any good in the first place

Playing it recently just made me respect Halo for not being so shit

Had to check something. 2012 was when those meme let's player games were born. After that AAA developers stopped trying.

Now we just get a few great ones and the rest are shit.

That's not KotOR II, TIE Fighter, or Jedi Outcast

Only the great survive in a TIE

>no one has mentioned Lego Star Wars
I'm disappointed.
