I want to visit the world again, I want to see Teldrassil and it's beauty, it was like my home. Please convince me to not buy another subscription.
Seriously tempted to play WoW again
private server
That sounds like the gayest fucking shit ever. It's an RPG, only numbers matter.
Haven't played since TBC but from what I understand most of the old places were burned away in Cataclysm.
Wait a month for nost 2.0.
Retail WoW butchered most of the vanilla zones/music.
The game is better than what it has been, i'm just afraid you're in for a long and boring ride if you're starting from scratch
>the game is better than what it has been
no. Stop spreading lies.
It won't feel like your home anymore. Nobody talks. Nobody hangs out in Darn. Wait for Nost 2.0 if you want to feel at home again friend.
>nost 2.0
Vanilla WoW is never happening. Give it up.
this
except straight
nice bait
the old zones are ruined these days with all the XP boosts and instant hp/mana regen. You'll out level them before finishing a couple of quests and find it all too easy and boring. Also the Cataclysm expansion destroyed lots of zones both literally and figuratively.
Wait for Nostalrius, then you'll be able to play the game as it was intended before they fucked it all up.
>nostalgia fags
>probably has never ever played back in 05'
or worse
>wotlk babies
fuck off
just play ffxiv :^)
why does no one talk in MMOs anymore
wow is actually cool in this new xpac, I was a non believer till I got sucked back in
Pretty fun. Dalaran is nice, never hurts to see a sexy little night elf running by in little plate panties.
people say that every expansion
...
It's not bait. It's not happening. There has been zero talk about an actual server and not just lip service.
...
...
>blizzard is my daddy
whatever loser
the game isn't what it was because you can never relive the first time playing it. chasing after nostalgia is pointless.
if you want to see it again that badly you don't need to even resub, you can just play until level 20 for free. log back in, roll a new nelf, save money.
Nigga I don't know you and I don't wanna know you. What if you're a noob but I don't find out until you already think you're my friend and whisper me all the time? Fuck
spoken like someone who never tried playing on Nost
>Hammerfall
>Uses a sword
Stop it hurts.
>level 60
>no helm or cloak
Devs have never been renown for being good at their own games.
Holy shit this is fucking hilarious! Vanilla was such fucking garbage.
He's right. You'll never get the feeling of playing for the first time back. To be honest it's sad watching all of you faggots try to hold on to the past. It's really sad and really pathetic.
>thinly veiled Nostalrius thread
but it's still chasing the feeling of the first time playing the game, which is what OP is after. old models and lack of expansion aren't a time machine, user
I don't know how many times just hearing the Tedrassil music made me resub. It must be at least 5.
Just remember, after you finish Tedrassil and Dark Shore, the game kinda takes a sharp dip in nostalgia feel.
You're better off just playing the free mode up to level 20 in order to scratch that itch and then move on.
Trust me bro, I know those feels.
It's better to hold on to good past than to eat what shit blizzard serves you today.
>You'll never get the feeling of playing for the first time back.
Yeah, but I got good enough feeling to play it, unlike retail.
I dont know.
I was playing new WoW and you can really see it now. I was starting to see it in Wrath when LFG was implemented, but like wow is it a whole different atmosphere.
I maybe find one or two groups that talk and those guys seem to be vets. But like nowdays in LFG it's like everyone has autism and they're afraid to talk. You beat dungeon as a healer or tank and go "Anyone want to tag along for another dungeon?" and you'll get this awkward extended silence and it doesnt matter if you were a train, or a good healer, or a shitter- just autistic silence.
It's weird, you basically have to force people to communicate. It's like Sup Forums in real life.
it's weird going through stormwind and no one is saying shit
I found Legion to be more engaging and enjoyable than WoD, at least. But that's not really saying much. That being said, Legion in its current state has more expansion-specific content in its current state than WoD did in its entire lifespan. The LFD mindset has taken root strongly, though, and the community as a whole isn't very welcoming. The communication breakdown is very obvious.
I can suggest giving Elysium a shot once that comes out. They're bringing the two Nost servers and characters back in addition to launching their own fresh server.
From what I understand, the Nost folks just caved immediately when they received the C&D notice in stead of ignoring it and pulling a trash man on it like other private servers. Not immediately caving would work wonders and keep it around longer, but Elysium may end up going the same way.
Join moonguard or WRA and I promise you the problem you will have is getting people to shut the fuck up. Stop playing on shit servers.
>Nost folks just caved immediately when they received the C&D notice in stead of ignoring it and pulling a trash man on it like other private servers
The fucking Idea was, holy shit they noticed us, lets for once do something that no one else did, pitch our legacy idea to Blizzard, to which Blizzard responded with Yeah, thanks for coming guys, we are going to call you lol
Don't bother OP. wait untill next expansion.
You are already too far behind in Artifact power
There is no reason to. LFG and single player content is all you need.
I got bored and quit a while ago, but I noticed my bf was playing it the other day so I wanna resub to play with him. Have things gotten better since legion launch?
You can go to Teldrassil because the game is f2p for the first 20 levels now.
Don't even have to resub
you act as if it's that simple, did you forget that you now see people x-server in the open world and not just in dungeons anymore?
There is no sense of community anymore. You'll never randomly see the same people ever again.
>you'll never randomly see the same people again
This makes me sad, I miss hanging out with the same people at falconwing square all the time and running into them and grouping up in the open world. I don't know if I've seen the same person twice on the broken isles
If you can't easily draw upon hundreds of bitter memories to convince you not to play then you haven't played enough.
Legion is a good expansion so far; not great, but good.
You could always pay your subscription with ingame gold, its easy as fuck to farm if you have a gathering profession.
It is that simple. I've been on moonguard for 2 years and it's one of the most active and social servers I have ever been on. People are always RPing or trolling RP's. You've got your regular shit posters in trade and your shitty Moonguard meme's "I paw ur thigh, u moan~" It's a nice place if you want to replicate Sup Forums in wow.
It's boring as hell. The game revolves around doing braindead easy content until heroic raiding and mythic+. After that it's all about doing the same content over, and over, and over...
It's ruined. Wait for the nostradamus reboot.
>all quests are single player oriented
>linear nature of the quests means it's extremely difficult to actually get someone on the same quest to party with you
>on the off chance someone is on the same quest as you, they're likely to ignore you because the quest is so fucking easy there's no incentive to actually group
>focus on a big narrative in which you are the all powerful chosen one who will save the world
>phasing, heavy instancing
>nearly all group content is found through an automatic matchmaker you can access from anywhere
>this party content is made extremely simple to accommodate the fact that you're partying with auto matchmade braindead retards; nobody needs to talk or plan, just go forward and spam your rotation
"IT'S YOUR FAULT THAT MMOS SEEM SO LONELY! THE GAMES HAVEN'T CHANGED, YOU HAVE!"
why do you think so many people still play it? you cannot escape nostalgia user; WoW is one of the shittier MMOs now that more have come out, and yet people still cling to it simply because it was their first world that had thousands of hours dedicated to it.
you can't just walk away from thousands of hours of effort no matter how shitty your game is
It's funny because people say the same thing about LoL even though it's a 'free' game.
They invest so much time into unlocking LoL champions (and probably buying skins), why play another game of the same genre and put all that time to waste?
