It's already apparent from the trailer that Mario has slow, floaty controls, and the level shown in the trailer is absurdly easy. The platforms are too large, so enemies and pitfalls will not be challenging enough. Nintendo's developers have started constructing the worlds in their 3D platformers out of big prefabricated rectangular blocks. The levels look like they will be basically flat with little verticality.
