This quit being much of a problem years ago. Almost every game has dedicated servers with some kind of anti-cheat and banning measures in place.

I'm a M/Keyboard user but I can understand the appeal of having a nice weighty, comfortable controller in your hand. I used to play console FPS' all the time before quitting for a few years. Now that I used M/Keyboard using controller sticks for aiming feels really sluggish.

I would make the argument for Awesome and Poor controller users having a smaller skill difference but then I remembered that Polygon DOOM video and that some people can't figure out how to use both sticks at once.

So I guess it evens out. Competitively though Mouse and Keyboard 100%.

How can people even say mouse and keyboard is better than a controller? You see the enemy, you click the enemy, they die. It takes no skill. It's like playing virtual whack-a-mole. Notice how old people and little kids can use a mouse and keyboard but they're clueless when it comes to dual stick. It's because a mouse and keyboard takes no skill. If high speed clicking is your thing, then go for it, but I'd rather do something more fun, like my taxes.

controllers are ergonomically designed for comfort. there's significantly less tension in your hands when using a controller compared to wasd'ing in pc fps

This I agree with. I play most games that support controller with a controller. However, the ridiculously slow and or spastic aiming on console fps makes them the exact opposite of comfy.

i woudln't say fps with a controller is spastic, but i completely agree that it's ridiculously slower. console shooter skill ceiling goes up to the ankles. i have nothing against console fps players if they enjoy it, but it grinds my gears if they think it takes any skill at all compared to pc

its just a different skillset

yes controller players when playing vs pc players will be slower, but if everyone has a controller then everyone is equal in terms of input. but that doesn't mean that they are all at the same skill level.

Because sometimes you're poor, a console is all you have, and playing on a console isn't torture or anything.

Some games do officially support it but most FPS do not because of the huge advantage mouse aiming has.
