Why do guns in this game feel so damn unreliable?

Why do guns in this game feel so damn unreliable?

>inb4 they're ww1 weapons.

I really don't think it has anything to do with that, it's just that the accuracy is shit. You're aiming at an immobile guy dead on and even see the bullet hitting him and its still a miss. Or a straight up faceshot that's not an instakill. Hitboxes seem fucked

I noticed that shit too but I havent played the MP yet. Maybe its gonr over there.

Its impossible to hit anything with the mp trench

Wait why the fuck isnt anyone paying attention to these thread? Its legitimate game discussion of a pretty active and big game. And yet Sup Forums prefers to shitpost somewhere else

they really do prefer to shitpost since TORtanic happened

I dunno about the guns feeling unreliable, but BF1 is kinda rough animation wise so hitbox issues wouldn't surprise me

Battlefield games are very fucking strange.

They have tons of marketing but nobody seems to actually play them

the atmosphere and music in this game are absolutely phenomenal but I really hate that it takes longer to quit than it does to close and re-open the game

What? Nigga theres a fuckload of people playing right now

Odds are you're probably used to previous battlefield games. If so, you're probably used to tap firing in small bursts.

The way the gun mechanics work in this game penalize this style of play. After a short period of time from firing, guns receive a HUGE penalty to spread. However, after the initial spread multiplier, it reduces quickly and becomes more predictable. Watch where your tracers are going, and proceed to readjust after the spread is applied.

So firing in fewer, longer bursts compared to many short bursts is going to keep your spread multiplier from getting too huge.

what's the best gun to use pre BAR for support?

Really? I don't find it too hard.

I am not really good at fps either.

I like the mg-15 storm

This.

I fucking hate any automatic weapons.

I just stick to my shotgun and make people salty

Are you stupid, its has over 1/5 of a million players on right now

Who?

Any normies I know just play overwatch or whatever

Never actually seen someone actually play these games

It's the fucked up tick rate and stuff

The atmosphere in the plane campaign was amazing. Shame that campaign was so short.

Gee so I need to use the auto guns which need to be reloaded like every 2 seconds?

Anyway, I wasn't talking about auto guns, rather bolt action ones.

>Over 1/5th of a million

That's not how numbers and fractions work

the plane campaign had the best music
>playing Operation
>successfully defend
>offense gets reinforced with an airship
>youtube.com/watch?v=ABF2Iq_dZsw

This isn't call of duty.
Bullets have travel time and require timing.

This.

It seems you faggos didn't play rifle based games before.

I played a shitload of CoD 1 and 2 and honestly BF1 isn't that hard to aim in.

came here to post this. it's not incorrect, it's just disingenuous.

>So I need to use auto guns
No, this affects semi-automatic weapons as well if you fire them fast enough for the spread penalty to accrue.

>I wasn't talking about auto guns, rather bolt action ones
How the fuck are you missing with bar none the easiest weapons in the game?

Point at the head or chest and in most ranges it will be a one shot kill. They have super fast bullet velocities and very little drop compared to any other BF game, so you really just need to aim right at them and don't need to lead.

Well I read it as "a fifth" in my mind but I guess you're right.

Thats the funny part. It advertises realism.

Yet bullets drop off at 100m like crazy.

youtube.com/watch?v=jX7dcl_ERNs

At 914 meters this guy fires his sniper and and it's like maybe 30 cm of drop.

Menwhile BF1 was this type of drop on 50 meters.

I dont know the names of the guns yet, I think one is the gewehr or something, but im hitting immobile targets dead on and its somehow missing.

dont forget the best track

youtube.com/watch?v=T2gOXaEe04c

they really exceeded my expectations with the soundtrack

when can i get thqt gun thats beautiful

>best track
>not youtube.com/watch?v=lY8uTaUM8Bg

Its the most played game on xbox right now

What guns are you talking about exactly? For example I use the Selbstlader m1916 and you just have to find the proper rhythm to keep the recoil under control.

Also a headshot isn't an instakill for every gun, which is a good thing.

>Getting hit square in the face with a pistol
>not an instant kill.

I could understand if it were the case with helmet hits but a faceshot should always be instant kill

It's a game mechanic, realism has nothing to do with it.

A game with maps this big would get really frustrating really quick without bullet drop or travel time.

A headshot is a headshot, they don't distinguish between the face or any other part of the body.

If any pea shooter killed you instantly via headshot, you'd be making a thread bitching about dying all the time instead.

I loved the plane campaign because it was so graphically undemanding. I could play it with almost all ultra settings with my 270x, shit was beautiful

BF1 isn't like 3/4/Hardline, bullet drop basically doesn't matter unless you're getting 300m+

the plane campaign makes me want an aerial combat-only map set over L O N D O N

So, Sup Forums, do you think he was lying?

why would he? clearly he was a hero and took down multiple zeppelins and saved London

>The heroism of his deeds is enough to say they were fake.

Dude literally every protag in the game "shifted the tide of the war"

Every weapon uses random deviation, instead of a predictable spread

Its a fucking garbage mechanic and one of the only bad things in the MP portion of the game

They were all stories being recounted either by the person you play as or someone nearby in Bishop and Foster's case, anyway

The fact that people claim the game is unrealistic because narrators were stretching the truth (you're invincible in Avanti Savoia, but you still get shredded by bullets as the Sentry in MP) is ridiculous

>oh cool a section about the italian army
>you play as robocop

Yes

His lies started when he saved his buddy in no mans land

In reality he killed him and went back alone

If people wanted to discuss videogames, they would do it on /vg/. Not the shitposting (about videogames 60% of the time) board.

>discuss video games
>on /vg/

>You see Tesoro, I had a bulletproof suit of armor. One time, I took an entire volley from a bomber airplane's machinegun crew, and nothing happened to me. 5 seconds later they used the same gun on the mountain and they brought it down!.

Hated that campaign so fucking much.

Then I guess there's no where to discuss videogames on Sup Forums, oh well. Maybe those retards at /qa/ could bitch about removing Sup Forums and /vg/ for shitposting now.

Anyone else laugh their ass off during the Ottoman campaign when you play as an Australian and he lays it on super hard?

I kept feeling an intense urge to yell STRAYA, PISS OFF CUNT! as I ran through town blasting turkroaches.
I remember I loafed around too long looking through the gun boxes and he said "I gotta hurry 'n piss off ta tell command!" and I audibly laughed.

Favorite campaign out of this game so far.

glad you aren't designing a fps

I love this game. I love speeding around like Sonic and one-shotting guys with the Gewehr 98
