Why aren't slice of life games a genre? I need more games like Persona, but with just the social parts. No, I don't have any friends in real life. Fucking bite me, normies.
Why aren't slice of life games a genre? I need more games like Persona, but with just the social parts. No...
because VNs exist. That is what the social part in persona is you fucking loner.
>I only know Persona with SoL gameplay
I'm pretty sure you are the normie here.
I like the dungeon parts too, but I want games with just the school life parts. Normies don't like slice of life.
Because pulling it off would require good writers and our current education system had them all shot.
photokano maybe, dunno.
But there's a fuckton of those games. They never get localized but it's not like SOL level Japanese is hard to learn.
They're called visual novels
There are literally hundreds of dating sims out there where you can do the social parts and ignore the "game" part, because it's just clicking through a few menus.
Maybe you should have learned Japanese.
I hear the new Sword Art Online game is like this? There's a game part there, and people say it's better than the previous games (but that's not saying much) but the entire thing is just fucking bogged down by so much SOL stuff. Literally hundreds of events you can experience, all clogging your quest list.
Apparently it drove people insane, to the point where only the most hardcore completionists would ever bother with trying to get through all the events. But if you really fucking want more SOL than gameplay, it might be the game for you.
...Assuming you give a damn about SAO anyway.
>normies
no you're just a fucking fag
Not OP but that was the one game I wanted throughout Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Sure enough, no discount anywhere.
Harvest moon
SAO's setting and waifus are fine, but what it calls a plot and main character are terrible. These things are less of an issue in a game where plot matters less (than in anime) and you're the main character.
I agree with OP, there should be more "slice of life" games and no VNs don't cut it. SOL games can still have exploration, interaction, and gameplay systems. VNs are just books with visuals.
The closest you'll get to SOL games are probably Animal Crossing and
If you want tacked on, meaningless gameplay, play a JRPG.
I know they have games just about visiting your grandparents during summer vacation.
There's tons of stuff out there, especially obscure steam games you've never heard of, it depends which slice you want to be part of.
Really? It's on sale on Mighty Ape, plus you get a lithograph or something. I was thinking about it, but it's not like I've ever watched a single episode of the damn show. Somehow I'm interested in the game though...
Try out Mana Khemia. Takes place in an alchemy school and is incredibly comfy. There are social aspects, but they're not as in-depth as Persona's. Battle system and focus on alchemy and grades are top notch though.
.. If they would change the cover of the game to be less creepy pedo bait they would definitely sell more..
Why even bother making a Slice of Life game?
If it was school based, it'd come to an end. Even if the game takes place throughout the whole high school years, the ending will be a cliche "We're all going separate ways" shit...
Everything good comes to an end.
Where in my post did I ever imply I wanted tacked on meaningless gameplay?
When you mentioned trash games like AC and HM.
Atelier games are usually slice of life games. They don't have a grand adventure story but rather follow a girl on her way to become an alchemist while making friends with other little faggot girls.
Where in my post did I ever imply that AC and HM are my ideal SOL games?
It's funny that the rip-off was so much better than actual animal crossing.
How the fuck is the box pedo in any way, normalfag?
>No, I don't have any friends in real life
So, how'd you manage that?
Never leave the house.
