AN OTHER WORLD AWAITS YOU
>boss fight
>latin chanting starts playing
> the level is litterally called Death Metal
>beat boss easily in a few hits, not even over-leveled
>cutscene shows you huffing and battle-damaged while the boss is fine
>Final Boss
>expect some big nonsensical battle
>sad piano/violin music instead
>Trailer for game set in WW1
>Wubstep remix starts playing
this has pretty much become a cliche in Souls games now
>Vietnam game
>hunting gooks
>Fortunate Son starts playing
Gehrman best final boss
>boss fight starts
>is over in seconds
>Five minute long song plays during a boss fight that even most inept people could beat in about half a minute.
heck yeah son
I liked his fight but after facing Orphan of Kos and Laurence he was too easy, so was Moon Presence
>things that never happened
____ _ (___) ____ ____ ____ ____
maybe if you actually played video games you'd notice that it happens a lot
I almost feel like Moon Presence was meant to easy for thematic reasons. Moon Presence wasn't actually that powerful in the first place and was just a manipulative little bitch and you've grown more powerful than it during your journey
I still don't know how to dodge Orphan's lightning attack on the ground, I just got lucky with a Bloodtinge build by shooting it to death
> Final boss begins
> There is no music
OK, I'll bite. Show me a boss theme that sounds anything like this: youtube.com
>boss fight
>rap music
>music changes depending on the stage of the boss, during its big attacks and if you've engage it or not
>boss fight starts
>your dog dies
here you go, retard
youtube.com
closest i know of
This music makes me want to kill myself because I live on a planet in which people make and enjoy this shit
It ain't you
Tamest Death Metal I have ever listened to.
>Final boss phase 1
>Generic rock or whatever
>Final boss phase 2
>Slower, ominous-sounding version of the previous theme
>Final boss phase 3
>Orchestrated remix of the game's main theme
>tranny level
>it ain't xe starts playing
lol how bout that
>trap level
>in ain't she starts playing
Generic slow heavy metal riffage with slightly dirtied up vocals doesn't make it death metal, although I admit I haven't played any jap games, so a thing like that might exist somewhere.
>trap level
>rattling high hats and banging synthesizers start playing
>Orchestrated remix of the game's main theme
Bonus if they've played the main theme several times before so you know it by heart
>donkey kong level
>it ain't HE level
>Music has vocals

Man I used to hate this but nowadays its done pretty good and I'm starting to love it more and more.
Then again there is also shit like this youtube.com
>gothic action opera set in the distant future
>mariachi music starts playing
>implying it doesn't fit the last stand "remember the Alamo" feel of surviving a space hulk.
youtube.com
>remember the alamo feel
>implying space hulk is a last stand
Really?? Who and what?
>boss fight
>WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
>die countless times
>eventually kill them
>barely survive
>they respawn
>WAAAAAR
>Boss fight in a kids game
>Music is too damn epic
this is war huh
HE AIN'T MY BOY BUT THE BROTHER IS HEAVY
>fight protagonist from last game
>his boss theme is the generic battle theme from the last game
>you are literally a random encounter to him
>liking Deicide
GAVE AWAY MY POSSESSIONS AND MOVED INTO A CHEVY
VAN
>Sup Forums level
>it ain't (You) post
Why couldn't they play the original Seven Nation War instead of Wubstep?
YEAH THAT'S THE MASTER PLAN
Jesus fucking Christ I knew Sup Forums was retarded when it came to music but this is a whole new level of plebian.
Saying the boss themes in fucking Final Fantasy is Death Metal is like saying Katy Perry is Hardcore Gangster Rap.
You people are shockingly retarded. I am in utter disbelief.
What would make it death metal then? What musical aspect causes rock music to specifically be part of the genre?
Blistering drum tempos, high gain guitar, and deep vocal growling. It's that fucking simple.
I don't even have a taste for the shit, and it's child's play to tell when it's edgy prog rock or some shit, or flat out death metal.
Here's some random death metal track after quickly looking up popular death metal bands:
youtube.com
It fits my criteria to a fucking T.
Someone posted another exact example as well and you fucking retards still couldn't post anything resembling it.
>all pokemon champion music
>I still don't know how to dodge Orphan's lightning attack on the ground
It always starts at Kos' corpse, and spreads out from there. when he starts screaming just get as far away from Kos as posible.
Cannibal Corpse is shit so it's good that vidya music hasn't gone in that direction
you're acting way too uppity over shitty bands in a stale genre famboi
Septic Flesh is probably one of few DM bands that are still relevant, and maybe Nile
No he isn't, he's just pointing out that Sup Forums is doing what Sup Forums does best: talking absolute shit and not reading things properly.
People were just pulling up the best examples they knew, its obvious there's not much metal influence in vidya aside from a few rare examples.
Biggest problem is the production. The guitars aren't down tuned and aren't distorted/layered enough. The composition itself is too consonant, it doesn't diverge from the major scale enough to sound evil. The vocalist can't even grow, it's just post production distortion.
Here listen to this since the theme is basically just a pale imitation of this song anyway
youtube.com
And then listen to this
youtube.com
That's why it's not death metal.
> boss fight
> baroque music starts playing
youtube.com
I'd love this to actually happen.
youtube.com
> not knowing the theme of the heir to the throne of the roaming Rhullo...
You made me chuckle for some reason
Persona 3, somewhat.
>metal is death metal
Fuck off reddit.
>green lex luthor.jpg
As a huge fan of death metal (Gorguts, Nile, Bloodbath, Death, actual death metal), I actually hate when games use just straight metal for soundtracks. I feel like it takes you out of the experience. I much prefer a more ambient soundtrack, like Doom 64's or something like that.
way to ruin a great reaction image with dumb frogshit
>I actually hate when games use just straight metal for soundtracks
You prefer gay metal, then?
Yes, gay faggoty, dick-sucking metal. Spewing with cum.
It's not a laughin matter.
