The Steam generation shocks me. How hard is it to open up the game dir and locate the game exe and config files?

Forgot my reaction.

I remember a game used to do this and the developers couldn't fix it, so they just changed the error message to "Thanks for playing!"

I had a similar problem. I bought a game on steam and it would crash every time I entered a specific area. I made a thread about it on a forum I visited at the time, some ultrafaggot with several hundred thousand posts and anime avatar went, "that is a known problem in pirated versions of the game".

While I was typing a reply to let him know I had legally bought it, a mod perma banned me from the forum for pirating.

at least it's single-player
