HOLY FUCK I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME, man do I want to like it but the "difficulty" is utter bullshit and unfair to no end.
nothing but my party missing and getting crit all fucking day, with a stupid waste of time stress system making them skip their own turns before they have a fucking heart attack. There's nothing to fucking do to get any progress its just failed mission after failed mission due to stress making them unable to continue, and then im bled dry financially trying to fucking fix the faggots who now all have negative traits, which conveniently all FUCKING ADD STRESS DMG, my fucking arbelist took 30 stress from a stressful incantation. I genuinely do not see a way of progressing in this shit game without blind fucking luck, and at that point is it even a fucking game?
HOLY FUCK I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME...
I see you don't like RNG based games.
It's a great example of MILLION/10 art direction but 5/10 gameplay.
git gud
makes it kinda dumb to play one desu
>implying there is any skill to this game
I mean within reason is fine, but this entire game is RNG and all of it is against you in a HUGE fucking way
for real it looks and sounds so fucking good I want to like this horseshit so bad
how when my party always misses and catches limitless crits to the face? please tell me I want to like this shit show
a good player would plan for bad RNG so they can act accordingly when it happens
HOW theres nothing but stress and crits in the dungeon how do I prepare for being able to do nothing and having to retreat while Im poor as shit..
it's a grinding game, send people on suicide runs for gold and don't waste gold trying to keep all your people healthy
Bring some one along to manage the stress, and keep your torch lit. The jester in particular can has a good de-stressing move
There is not a lot of planning to do. the game itself doesn't have much depth.
put a jester, houndmaster or crusader on your team to stress heal
don't put everyone in for stress healing, some you should cut loose
also wtf do I do about the bosses they do so much dmg and have so much health they seem impossible, especially because my level 3's are too fucking snobby to run the dungeons, do I just have to run double occultist and weakness them to oblivion? I dont see any otherway
I think the game is actually balanced in the earlier levels, but once you get to the last round of bosses, that is when it actually becomes bullshit. The enemies scale so much better in the end game than you do; a cultist sorceress gets a push, mark, and stress in one move. That was for a boss dungeon and in the very first fight my arbalest was already afflicted. My gripes with the game are too grindy, trinkets are cool, but trying to find decent ones all come down to luck and I read they were nerfed pretty hard. Also, Highwayman is the best class.
no you attack them until they die
stress heals are so abysmal tho, when you take anywhere from 10-30 stress a fucking turn (at least I fucking do..), whats the point of even trying to mitigate it when you can't
Trying to take down the Formless Flesh, but he just hits too hard, and leaves me on death's door with bleeds and blight. Any tips? I know AOE is king here, but the PROT on some of the forms are high as fuck.
when half my team is on deaths door, and the other half or all of them are full stressed from the whole dungeon before hand? That doesnt make sense user :(
I just got my 4 best men wiped out by the second Prophet fight. The falling rocks one hit my back line, and every hit was a successful deathblow. Fuck this game.
>lvl 1 boss
>deaths door, fully stressed
what the fuck are you even doing
GETTING NONSTOP CRIT THE WHOLE FUCKING DUNGEON WHILE HALF MY FUCKING MOVES MISS I CANT MAKE THIS SHIT UP user ITS INFURIATING
Why do people get so mad early on? Your guys are basically expendable units. Send them to places and if they die then so what.
Keep an eye out for new guys with good traits and work on investing in those instead.
Plague Doctor is fucking great against bosses. Just stack blight all day, and focus your other efforts on smacking nuisances down, and keeping everyone alive and stress-free if you brought suitable heroes for it. Bleed is also pretty good, but doesn't work on roughly half of the bosses. It also stacks slower than blight to my experience.
The game gets easier when you learn how to manage your shit efficiently and get a gist of how to avoid bad RNG juju whenever you can. I'm on my third playthrough and I haven't lost more than one guy getting up to the titular dungeon.
DAZED
You're playing it wrong.
You basically have to run it like walmart. Send in low level adventuring parties to go steal as much shit as possible, flip it or salvage it, and build up an uber team to slaughter everything. If a lowbie party is becoming too much of a liability, ditch their asses in the woods or whatever.
You basically have to be a figurative monster that kills the definitive ones.
REELING
All bosses have some strategy for an easy victory
Except for the hag, that's a straight up DPS race
You're trying to mitigate the stress while enemies that give stress are alive. Kill them first, waste a turn healing.
Houndmaster and Plague Doctor are godlike in that fight
Bring an Occultist and a Man at Arms, laugh for the whole fight.
You can turn enemy crits and corpses off if you want to, you little baby.
Sounds like you are making it up, its nowhere near as bad as you're trying to imply.
ABOUT
DESTROY
DARKNESS
Always see people complaining about this so I give it a shot. Got to veteran without much hassle at all. Veteran is giving me some shit though and the hag and necromancer had me stuck for a while, but that was easily fixed by bring a better party line-up.
long story short: plan better.
I'd like this game if it wasnt that bad user...
Curious Is The Trap Maker's Art
GLITTERING
this. it isn't difficult if you think for a few minutes before embarking.
I have no idea what to say to you
I usually scout out the boss first to figure out what works on the boss and make a party to deal with it specifically
I love that you can for example stack Poison/Bleed dmg on bosses and just stall the boss while dealing with their gimmick
Also don't get so fucking sad you people die and learn to retreat instead
There is alot of RNG in this game but there is also ways of dealing with bad RNG and it seems like you can't see any of it
WOOOOOOOW HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW I HAD TO THINK?
TIDE
I'm on week 202 of my first play through and I have not beaten it yet.
The game takes a long while to get a hold of. Especially if you're like me and don't "fully understand" the game until the third "round" of bosses.
Anyways, what took me a long while to learn is that certain classes synergize well. For instance when doing normal grinding quests the houndmaster and bounty hunter are the two best front liners cause of upper cut and black jack.
Bosses are cake if you have the right composition.
I beat the level 3 Siren without her ever stealing one of my characters with "Song of Desire."
My line up was:
Arbalest in the front line who constantly spammed rallying fire
Houndmaster in the second slot who constantly spammed black jack
Plague doctor in 3 who constantly spammed blight
Vestal in 4 who healed my party throughout the dungeon in order to get to the boss.
Just figure out a good party to take for your quest and the game's very manageable.
I agree. I'm particularly angry about this game because it's really cool in every aspect except for how it fails to provide good combat and instead resorts to bs to make it difficult and occasionally rewarding. I'm the person that went through all the soulsborne games without complaining about artificial difficulty.
Such a good game otherwise. I might play through it one day with a mod or cheats just to balance out the bullcrap.
HIS EFFICACY UNWITNESSED BY HIS OWN EYES.
Either you're a living mathematical anomaly or you're grossly exaggerating and need to git gud, my friend.
Fresh kegs, cards, and curtained rooms promise solace to the weary and the broken alike.
"Another one falls."
Have you tried getting good?
Requesting the picture with the charts and graphs
There is. Op and my friend are the same. Yet I never had this problem, all of my game problems were manageable.
You can edit the stats of monsters and stuff with notepad if you have the game. I did so, gave everything like 2 HP, and breezed through the game (you need to give the last bosses over 20 HP, though, or else they glitch out).
this guy gets it
finished two weeks ago with 3 heroes dead and 2 failed missions.
step it up sempai
also baertaffy
*game on Steam, I mean.
gud of git
What is the best skill set for Leper? I'm thinking Chop, Revenge, Withstand, and Solemnity.
The game does has far too much RNG and too little strategy/tactics thats for sure
Its somewhat enjoyable if you can ignore how mindless to play it is
I actually find this game less RNG and more skill/strategy based than similar games.
been playing XCOM 2 on legendary and the gameplay really gets basic. pop a pod, try to kill all of them in 1 go, if not, lose at least one squad member
my nigga
>Getting Three Hater Perks on Leper
>Equipping Berserker Mask and The Other Leper Trinket That Boosts Acc/Crit/Speed
>Getting consistent 25% chance to crit
Bringing classes that reliably crit definitely makes the game more manageable since Stress is easier to control now that you basically have a class that passively heals stress when they attack. Getting multiple crit perks on an Arbalest/Musketeer/Graverobber pretty much gives them a near 40% chance to crit (>50% with Mark) with the right trinkets.
Can't wait for the DLC, hopefully we get Steam Workshop sometime soon since the mods on Nexus are often pretty shit sans the few actually good ReSkin mods
How do you get those hater quirks? I heard of people grinding weeks for them, do you have to find a certain curio, or just luck out?
...
Chop, Hew, Revenge, Withstand.
That being said....
Leper is one of the worst classes in the game. He sucks against pretty much every boss. High chance to miss, etc.
Petals must fall user.
>it's a Sup Forums is full of casuals episode
This game is all about the prep. I generally use a throw away team first to scout areas and use my main sqiads after they die
Darkest Dungeon is about as hardcore as a mobile game though
10% knowing how the mechanics work, 90% grind
