This is the World of Darkness, everybody wants something - the number of significant characters who aren't trying to manipulate or use you can be counted on one hand (and consist of your ghoul, somebody else's ghoul, and a confirmed atheist in a world where half a dozen different versions of the supernatural exist).
But for a Toreador and a Vampire in general, she's remarkably nice - she's warm, she's polite, she's relatively straightforward about what she wants and as long as you're straight with her she'll continue to be nice to you. Can't expect much more than that, neon8

I don't really know why so many people find Jeanette annoying, either. She's just living like she thinks a true Anarch should. Anyway, it's up to you, Kindred - but I don't think you need to use Seduction when you first meet her if you don't want to (though it does garner you relationship points), as long as you're relatively polite you can get her straight to the point.
It's more important to be polite to Therese, and it's really helpful to give her the Ocean House Amulet instead of Jeanette - but you do have to be extra-polite to Jeanette when you refuse to give it to her, or she'll get too mad at you to let you convince them to ally.

Pretty sure you can save both with 5 in Persuasion, or at least that's how I did it. You also have to NOT give the necklace to Jeanette. It probably didn't hurt that I tried to butter both of them up during conversations, too.

amazing how this game looks so damn realistic despite all the high end graphics of today

Did I mess up my game? I've been playing the GOG version of the game that includes some version of the unofficial patch with it, but I started the game with the regular version of the game and then I might have played the second session with the modded version. I can tell this is probably what happened since starting the game with one .exe boots up to a separate list of save files than the other one, and there are red squares where blood would be in one but not the other. This would be fine, but the modded one that's supposed to "fix" stuff seems to have broken a lot of triggers, like elevators not working, getting stuck in scene transitions, not getting keys, etc. It's nice that I can use the console commands to fix these issues, it's breaking the immersion a lot.

Basically, did I screw up using a save from the unpatched version of the game with the patched version? Would a fresh save fix my issues?
