Gaming Laptop

Looking for advice on a gaming laptop.
So far MSI laptops seems to be the most interesting option considering (Specs/Price) but I'm uneducated on laptop brands.
Budget of aprox: 1500$

You should have posted this a week ago during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. You could have gotten a MSI GT62VR with a 1070 for just over $1500 or a MSI GT72VR with a 1060 for under $1500.

Here's the laptop I bought a week ago, it's on sale again for less than I paid for it then! If you can deal with a 15.6" screen and the lack of an optical drive I'd recommend this.

Unless you're a college fag who can't leave campus freely and needs a way to kill time between classes or something along those lines, gaming laptops are a waste of money.

I bought one for that exact reason 3 years ago and I'm gonna replace it with a real PC sooner or later.

Can't say much but I use an MSI gaming laptop that I purchased while I was in the army for traveling around and gaming. While their internal fans do the job they aren't anything to write home about. I do however find that one of those good laptop coolers will reduce the temperature a good 6-9 degrees. Highest temperature I've seen on my laptop minus the cooler for my gpu was 89 degrees.

I have msi g60 apache pro and its been great.
Witcher 3 and rainbow six siege are working prefectly well.

It was HP they used to make decent for the price gaming laptops about 8 years ago.

I have the Apache 15 in your OP.
It runs pretty much everything on high settings. You can pick it up for about $900 these days.

This, "gayming" laptots are shit, if you want to game on pc buy a pc, if you need a laptop for collegue buy a laptop but don´t ever mix the 2.

do you actually need it to be a laptop? if you don't transport it, get a desktop. if you need to transport it but infrequently, or if the places you're moving between have monitors available to hook up, consider a small form factor desktop, like micro atx. both of these are going to be way more powerful and cost-efficient than a laptop.

Buy a chromebook or something small for notes and classwork and build a desktop. Been there done that OP, gaming laptops are universally fucking awful.

Get a 144hz monitor. Everything else is up to you. Asus and Benq have good cheap ones, but have color problems.

Yea my buddy had a gaming laptop from dell a few years ago and the GPU literally melted into a pile of goo. It was pretty funny. Dells have had heating issues in the past not sure if they are still bad for that.

I had a GS70 from 2013 that worked really well for 3 years until the battery burst for some reason. Still works pretty good but haven't bothered replacing the battery so it's just perm tethered to its power cord.

Think MSI is pretty bad with bloat nowdays, pretty much gotta figure on doing a clean install once you get it.
