The soundtrack is awful, used incredibly poorly. Can't recall a single great track. The OST is bland as fuck with no personality.
The bros are boring for the most part, they repeat dialogue a lot.
Haven't played the game enough to comment on the villain or story yet. My biggest gripe is the combat is dull and the driving sections are boring as fuck.

I wish the empire and it's characters were more relevant even if they were never meant to be the big bads
I wish more of the main story made you visit different parts of the map instead of just sidequests
I wish we could actually see Noctis and Luna's relationship actually develop and that she'd travel with you at one point
I wish Cor showed up more often
I wish these things contributed to making the main story longer and more of an epic journey rather than having to pad the game time and exploration with side quests.

it was the only part other than the ending that made me well up and almost cry.
Regalia Type-F is pure sex though.
Kinda felt like the first 20 hours into the game was a road trip just hanging out and having fun and then all of a sudden it got sour really fast once you left for Altisia with no break from the emotional train

Nah, it has some really good tracks, but some are also more like background noise and some later ones are just rather generic EPIC chorus. I love Shimomura, but you could hear the KH and overall it's not as memorable and lacks it's own touch like other FF games OSTs

The soundtrack is something I'm salty as fuck about. I thought with Shinomura involved it was an absolute given that it was going to be great, then it turns out to be a mess of ideas and poorly used themes.

Yeah that's my main gripe. I liked my time with the game but it feels like so much wasted potential. Like I said in the other thread it could have been one of the top tier final fantasy games if it expanded on the story and other characters (and villains that aren't Ardyn) more.

if you have the game set to easy mode it comes out to help you and occasionally buffs your team
Also the entire side quest system where you can only have one at a time, nothing spawns outwith the quest you're on, and those side quests where you've got to find the tiny glowing thing in a huge part of the world. How that got past QA is baffling.

That's what happens when you change directors. I'm not even a Nomura fan, but at least Somnus and Omnis are still one of the best tracks. A few battle tracks are good, but the rest is just generic skyrim copies or guitar background noise or slow remixes of already existing themes
