I don't know about anyone else but the jumping physics annoy me. In the original crash, jumping on a floating platform caused the platform to dip down before springing back up, then plummeting offscreen again. When you jumped on an enemy, they would actually increase in size slightly, before disappearing into the floor. I actually liked this and it looks a lot less satisfying in the remaster.
>nostalgia babies upset Clancy Brown didn't reprise his role as Dr. Cortex >tfw you prefered Lex Lang's Cortex all this time
James Smith
It looks like shit. Thats my problem with it.
Matthew Smith
I think it looks fine
I'm looking forward to these remasters
Played the shit out of these games but never beat them 100%
Jackson Fisher
its just not the same
and it tries very hard to be the same but at the end of the day it just doesn't give me the same feeling as the original in any way
they should've just made an all new game in the series and it would've been better
Justin Smith
Tawna isn't busty enough.
Matthew Rodriguez
>nostalgia babies
Leo Clark
i dont like that sony is too much of a pussy bitch to make a new crash bandicoot game so instead they take the lazy route and remaster the old ones.
John Bailey
>He's asking for a new game >This makes him a nostalgia baby
So this means you must be retarded.
Levi Taylor
What I do like about the remaster is being able to play it on PC
Easton Green
>i dont like that sony is too much of a pussy bitch to make a new crash bandicoot game
Except the guy who leaked Crash Bandicoot remaster said Sony Japan has a new Crash Bandicoot game in development
Landon Rivera
i will believe it when i see it
Sebastian Kelly
Its not coming on PC though
Christopher Williams
>Activision >Not-Multiplatform Say what you want but it's coming
Caleb Peterson
Because believe it or not, I'M WALKING ON AIR.
Josiah Cox
A little too clean some places, a little too bright in others, a little too bloomy as well. Overall, looks great. People who want cel shading can go fuck themselves.
Also, Crash is adorable with his new look and animations, which is good. Fur could be trimmed a little bit on some parts of his body, but I strongly oppose those who want it completely removed.
Somewhat disappointed with the music.
Noah Brooks
Sony Japan? Fuck off. If that's true then Crash is in for another shit show.
Isaac Wood
you mean to say, she isnt thick enough. That ass is just disappointing.
Michael Mitchell
>No "Only on Playstation" logo on boxart
James Scott
At least there'll be more fanart of her now.
Christopher White
Can't say that. Thick means morbidly obese, now that the body positivity movement has gained popularity.
Isaac Jenkins
It also says RP. It's a mockup. And I hope it isn't thw final boxart either. Looks kinda bland and centered.
Alexander Reyes
nah, tawna was never about the ass
it's about BIG FAT BANDICOOT TITTIES
Joseph Taylor
If it weren't exclusive they would have said it from the start
Wyatt Morris
>PC version released >within the first few days there's already alternate Tawna models and texture packs >most of the major grievances with the footage thus far will just be modded away by the community
Aiden Myers
And yet, Pasadena Opossum will still have nothing.
Jaxson Lewis
It looks like a shitty homogenized Unreal Engine 3 game and lacks the charm of the original.
Elijah Morris
>Announced at Playstation Experience >The same fuckers who said Nier Automata is exclusive
They want to make it seem as exclusive as possible
Brody Phillips
God bless PC
It's from the official site fampai
Asher Morales
Cranking up the contrast and crushing the blacks a bit would do a lot.
Noah Davis
The model looks like they based it shot for shot off of the PS1 model (which itself was riddled with limitations) and removed all the interesting edges and defined lines.
So now you have a model that's both super low detail compared to concept art, and at the same time more detailed. His muzzle shade doesn't hook to his cheekbones (because he doesn't have them, it's too faithful to the PS1 model) and I know they were just trying to get into the spirit of things, but his mouth isn't supposed to just hang down like that when it opens. Crash's mouth isn't wider at the bottom than at the top. Nobody's is really, because it generally looks hellish. It especially looks bad considering his teeth are 2x smaller than usual.
Main complaint so far.
Andrew White
>>The same fuckers who said Nier Automata is exclusive It was until Square decided to put it on other platforms
When has Activision before have announced a game for only one platform that was actually multiplatform?
Joseph Howard
crash is gay
Luke Jenkins
Jungle looks a little plastascene-ey, it's not like the originals were Dark with no light penetrating the foilage or anything. Oh and N Gin looks kind of shitty but at least he's a ginger manlet again.
Heavy Machinery looks great...though that's due in part the original being one of the first levels made and basically being a flat concrete wall.
Henry Collins
Because she's literal garbage.
James Perry
It looks glorious
Samuel Perry
You want him to fill your ass with bandicum?
Connor Cox
No they just hadn't announced it, the Steam version's been planned since the beginning according to interviews.
Sure it hasn't happened before but just like how Activision lets timed content come out for Xbox/Playstation they must have done a timed exclusive deal for the remasters.
Cameron Fisher
...
Bentley Turner
But shes a cute tho, take that back.
Charles Rogers
I feel like this clip is a bad example. In some ways the first one looks better and the remaster seems like it's lacking something (this is subjective).
Luke Perez
Show me this interview you speak of
Charles Watson
Twinsanity Crash had the best crash design. Fact.
Samuel Sanchez
They need to redo the boulder. It looks to clean and not very threatening.
Alexander Ramirez
>should of made a new game in the series and it would've been better >crash wrath of cortex was garbage >crash twinsanity was garbage >crash mutant series was fucking garbage
gee i wonder how making a new game turned out?
Leo Sullivan
it's a giant boulder rolling to crush you
that's pretty threatening by itself
Jeremiah Bailey
>the remaster seems like it's lacking something It's lacking Aku Aku
Xavier Gutierrez
Holy shit you retarded sperg do you not know how to use Google?
>Yosuke Saito: Platinum Games are known in Japan as a great developer, but I think they might even be a little bit more popular in the West. I wanted this game to be more available for everyone worldwide. In Japan, not many people play video games on PC, but we've heard that there's many, many gamers who play on PC in the West. We always wanted to - we started planning for a PC version from the very start of the project.
I like how you can see the sky now. But it's way too bright.
Brody Hughes
Sony has the publishing rights to Crash 1-3, so how would it come to PC?
Benjamin Clark
Kys
Isaac Nguyen
I would actually agree with this if not for crash 2
Jonathan Campbell
The mouth is wrong
Jaxson Torres
Show me where it says the have the rights to the remaster? It's being published by Activision not Sony.
Brandon Cruz
none of those games were made by Naughty Dog
Isaiah Scott
I thought you were taking about Crash
Also see
Justin Jenkins
People need to realize it could have easily looked far worse then this.
Sometime you just got to be thankful for that.
>In before it's-better-than-nothing
Jack Price
What I meant by threatening was that is that it should look as scary as it did in the first game. when I was little, the boulder levels scared the crap out of me because of the noise and its texture. The new one looks like a marble.
Nathaniel Phillips
You can't just slap new textures on it and suddenly get all the rights, its still technically Crash Bandicoot 1
Tyler Barnes
this clip has the same problems though
Ayden Garcia
I'm guessing she's probably a better fit for Crash than Tawna, but I never liked her design that much.
Brayden Myers
>that level where you had to get through before your firefly thing runs out >it gets fucking dark when it runs out >the remake will be lighter so you can pretty much see without it.
I just hope they dont make the slippery climb level easier.
Jaxson Phillips
not him but that one looks a lot better imo, its still dark and gives the right atmosphere but has some nice modern touches
Luke Ortiz
It looks great. The real reason Sup Forums hates it is >sony I gurantee you if it came out to PC, this reddit outpost would love it.
Jackson Ramirez
>Temple level's gimmick is literally being really fucking dark
I don't know if this a liability thing for eyestrain or what. Maybe the engine just can;t into lighting.
Jose Johnson
I don't speak for the rest of the board (but you're probably smart enough to know that), I don't like it because of what this user has posted. Not up to snuff, might be too early to tell, but I can't see them making drastic changes to the updated visuals that move them closer to the originals and less away from a Unity/UE4 fangame. Which is a shame, because I'd love to have Crash 1 be playable nowadays.
Dominic Russell
crash fits tawna perfectly
and by fits i mean fits into the curve of her tits
Kayden Allen
>lacks the charm of the original I swear this is the go-to phrase people come up with when they can't properly articulate that their nostalgia is the basis for their criticisms. Like, by all means, have a preference, but calling a game's aesthetic "generic" just because it's been modernized is ridiculous. Crash's original art style was hardly anything unique at the time, and the only reason it feels different in retrospect is because the time period for that level of technology was extremely brief.
Matthew James
I agree, my problem is that the environment looks too clean. There needs to be more texture on the floor, pillars, etc. Make some moss, debris-- dirty it up a little bit.
Oliver Powell
i don't see it play the originals if you hate what they are doing, im gona love it for fixing the save system in 1
Christian Wilson
But they turned the dark stone into bright white stone, it doesn't give the same spooky menacing dungeon vibe at all.
Also the new UI looks like it's from a mobile game or something, it looks like a cheap knock-off.
Webm related, they took the dripping acid and the frozen pipes and turned them into a bloomy mess. It's almost like they have no idea what they're doing
Nolan Jones
call me whatever the fuck you want but I actually prefer the original version. I don't have anything against the remaster and would probably buy it, but the original temple looks better
Adrian Long
>But they turned the dark stone into bright white stone, it doesn't give the same spooky menacing dungeon vibe at all.
No, instead it gives the feeling of being in an ancient egyptian tomb.
James Harris
>It's almost like they have no idea what they're doing the castle machinery/heavy machinery levels actually look very good
Jace Smith
The machinery levels are probably the ugliest shit in the game. It's an improvement.
Logan Roberts
>tfw only ever played 2 + warped a lot and have no nostalgia for the first game
Caleb Reyes
>Webm related, they took the dripping acid and the frozen pipes and turned them into a bloomy mess
welcome to next gen
Colton Thompson
same, but playing 1 later as a kid really made things different.
Robert Allen
those fire/ice pipes look so lazily done, just red/blue, the old ice at least has icicles hanging off of it
Brandon James
You're not missing much besides some catchy music and the great fight against the mobster dude.
Wyatt Walker
2 is the best game anyway
Jayden Adams
The mouth looks so formless and hamfisted.
Zachary Bailey
intentionally ugly
you can pretty clearly see in the first part it's supposed to be a run-down shithole with peeling paint and rusted conveyor belts, which the new version misses entirely in favor of bloom and rivets
Joseph Wright
I can't judge until I have it in my hands. Honestly, I'm just glad they aren't try-harding to make it into a story-driven franchise with extended cutscenes and dialog for Crash. It may look a little cheap, but I feel like it can only do Crash 1 justice as far as control goes. Love that game, but it is STIFF, And if they remove some of that old bullshit that made it so hard to 100%, I'll be satisfied.
Daniel Evans
Looks like Disney took over development for the game where is the darker style of the 90s in this game it is not there and it is a laughing stock compared to the original
Nathan Brooks
>And if they remove some of that old bullshit that made it so hard to 100%
git gud
Carter Edwards
Good fix.
The level is more of a futuristic one than the PS version.
Juan Reyes
Naw man. I mean, it's kinda fun to get with a bro and try to 100% something that stupid hard, maybe make a drinking game of it or something, but on your own it's pretty unfun. Especially since the reward for doing it is so lackluster.
Adam Carter
Not that user but I see where he's coming from. I mean neither is this one and it's already looking way better than all those titles combined. I think this is the best thing for this series right now. A new game wouldn't solve anything wrong with the series right now. It'd just be another mediocre installment in a zombie franchise. This is the best play for crash at the moment.
Christopher Thomas
>that atrociously ugly motion blur
I couldn't even make it to 3 minutes in. Why the fuck would they do that.
Luis Collins
Can't you belly flop in the new game? This LPer is incompetent
Ethan Williams
This. Abe's Oddysee's remake had the same problems.
