What does Sup Forums think about EVE online? I'm looking for a game with an open world with space battles and stuff. Does EVE hit the mark? What are other good space games? Not looking for a MOBA type game

That is exactly what Eve is, yes. Its free to try it out, theres no reason not to.

And I'm planning on wasting my entire coming Sunday on attending the next big battle.

Although to be honest, I'm just going to be there in the name of stealing everything on the battlefield. Going to move in my hauler and once the battle is over, grab everything not bolted down.

Space garbagemen truely are the true heroes of this game.

EVE is not directly a 'space battles' kind of game.

EVE is an economic game, you grind and build capital more then you fight, as fighting usually costs more then it makes.

However its economic system is built around war, and people build fleets, roam in gangs, its really the only open world game where open world PVP is both encouraged and balanced, as most of the time you can just run away or avoid a fight if you know what you're doing.

its full of retards but there a lots of newbie friendly fleets being run by specter fleet for example. you will get into heaps of battles if thats what you want.

i think the game is free now as well, its worth giving it a go
