Extremely forgettable game.
You know something is wrong when the sidequests are superior to the main storyline.
It's just okay. The first game while not perfect was better.
Sup Forums just parroted that the game is bad and unfinished, and never bothered to actually play it. It's definitely GOTY
Do you have dementia?
>DLC beat this for RPG of the year
Shits worse than the previous games and very underhwhelming, I have no desire to play it again and it was a chore to complete.
Do you get to fuck any girls in this game?
Started it, played for a couple hours at launch..still havent touched it yet..not feelin the mood.
Very good game. Wasn't a finished package and quite frankly marketing was garbage. SE is treating this series with disrespect.
Because people wanted another Deus Ex game, not Human Revolution 2.
Deus Ex was good because it broke ground and made huge innovations. Human Revolution was good because it brought those innovations into a modern era which had mostly forgotten them.
Mankind Divided is just more of the same, and that's not something anyone wanted.
>Do you get to fuck any girls in this game?
There are tons of grills and robo-grills lusting after Adam but he seems to be asexual
Story and atmosphere of HR was better, but MD improved on gameplay completely.
Publisher really screwed game's reputation by unnecessary jewing.
Also cracked version works way better.
Maybe David didn't pay for a robo-dick.
I played it, I loved it. I have no wish to circle jerk with Sup Forums about it and arguing how it's good vs straight up lies about it. With it cracked it's less lies though, same thing happened with Dishonored2.
Sup Forums hates on denuvo games
No, and your ONLY potential gf turns out to be a crazy cat lady who murders augs at night
Why would people not want more of the best game of the last 10 years?
I have a feeling that performance will be better in cracked version of Dishonored 2 too. Denuvo taking up resources is not a meme
because they wanted more the best game in the last 20 years instead, which was far better than its (pre)sequel
and the cute girl from armory dates the "geek"
hey, Adam
That title still goes to stalker COP for the next 2 years.
The only things better in original Deus Ex compered to new one is story and atmosphere (last arguably).
why are there so many augmented people in DX? Dont they cost a fortune? And why are there so many cripples in the first place?
Forgetting superior 2d waifu Eliza.
Labor force. This was explained in the other games.
This game was so fucking forgettable, generic etc. bland. Short as all hell despite doing everything.
Fucking "cities" of the game are so empty and small it is a mockery.
People were getting augmented to perform better. Many were augmented by their employers (construction workers for example)
Wait what, Aria Argento dates who?
Stalker is garbage.
kys numale beta test low cuck faggot nigger lover
Yeah I remember now. Still looks silly that so many young men and women have robotic arms and legs. Cyber eyes or brain I could understand. Even more silly that they have aug parts purposely exposed. Nigga just wear pants and gloves
>Short as all hell despite doing everything.
My first playthrough was actually the longest first playthrough I've had in the series. People should remember to actually explore Prague.
Instead of buying construction equipment they rip off people's arms and give them cybernetic limbs because that's more cost effective or something.
Yeah, I didn't like the direction they went either.
Not a bad game, though. Some of the sidequests (like the harvester) were really good.
It's a pretty good game, looking forward for the DLC.
Because it's disappointing.
Every DX game so far has featured a clear story arc where your character starts off small and ends up unraveling a larger plot by the end.
It never happens with this, it just feels like an installment of something, but not really good enough to make me give a shit over a period of like 5 years
>start in the middle of the story
>all cast new yet you are supposed to know them fr a year
>no epilogue
>no prologue
>no ending
>pointless villain
>forgettable side missions
>buy dlc to see Pritchard again
>Sarif only makes a cameo
>AI waifu only gets one short side mission insetad of being main plot related
>Malik isnt there instead we get a flying black man
so why shoule anybody like it again?
>forgettable side missions
but the side missions were great
They were a waste of time for most part
But yeah, the detective one was good
The murder case an AI waifu should have been expanded.
Why not have Jensen solve more crime cases, and make the main plot naturally show up from them?
Alll in the family, the bank heist, that later you have to do again, golden ticket, cult of personality ... all of them should have been axed as they bring nothing and are too self contained and short to matter
They played it WAY too safe - MD basically comes off as HR 1.5.
>Because people wanted another Deus Ex game, not Human Revolution 2.
That's just modern sequels, though. Can you remember a modern series, particularly RPG, that did radical overhauls between games?
Being self-contained is part of what made them great though. If everything was related to the main story it would just get tiresome. I wouldn't call them short either, individually yes they are but most of the Prague sidequests keep going until the end of the game.
the parallax mapping on that sidewalk looks awful
>forgetting the best Deus Exfu
But you can't even touch her
I really fucking miss the vibes HR gave off.
First and foremost it was comfy as fuck, especially with flying back and forth from Sarif tower.
Something I sorely missed though was the feeling of being augmented. People were afraid of you, but it didn't matter because you were useful and could annihilate basically anything. MD really fucking pushed the "oppressed minority" aspect too far.
Mankind Divided's soundtrack is entirely forgettable.
Seriously, I can't remember any particular music from the game, whereas I can still clearly recall the LIMB clinic music, the ending and the main theme (Icarus) from Human Revolution.
The DLC should have been part of the main story, the game needed that extra content to make the city less devoid of worthwhile stuff to do. Another hub would have helped a ton.
Another central theme than "muh augs" would really have helped keep interest in the world, every story, every sidequest, every email all about how bad augs have it. Gets old.
Story should have been finished before shipping, duh. Some philosophical debate or at least some more insight into the villain would have been nice.
99% of items you find are fucking worthless and there are too many items in general to pick up.
Game was way too easy.
>MD really fucking pushed the "oppressed minority" aspect too far.
The writers seemed to be trying too hard with that. If ARC were some transhuman supremacist group instead of fighting for 'muh rights' then I could definitely believe normal people turning against augs on the level that they did in the game. Otherwise, no.
>tfw my 750ti can barely run it
Why does this game run so poorly?
>Being self-contained is part of what made them great though. If everything was related to the main story it would just get tiresome. I wouldn't call them short either, individually yes they are but most of the Prague sidequests keep going until the end of the game.
Maybe they could have worked in a different game, but not here,
Since one, the story is already barely there and it deludes what little of it is even more.
And two, you have to do them as they show up, you cant go back later since every main mission come with a time skip.
So ether yo ignore them entirely, or do them right away, no way to put them back till the end of the game or after it.
Also again, not every side mission had to tie in directly into the main plot, but it could have partially, so at the end of the game everything feels connected.
My idea of having all missions come directly form your Interpol boss, and starting the game off at your home base not with the bombing or the raid mission would really solve the plot pacing.
You wouldnt even have that feeling of being lost and working for people you dont know anymore since you would have time to talk to everybody before the bombing even happened.
This is what fucking happens when you hire a writer and game designer with no experience to write a sequel to a narrative based game/
What is the DLC even about?
Yeah, you need 4GB on your GPU and 16GB on your RAM memory.
It's not as memorable, but MD's soundtrack is still great.
I'm also puzzled because there can be over 8 hours of music depending on how it's layered ingame but apparently the official soundtrack released online isn't as long.
>true GOTY
Fuck no.
>What is the DLC even about?
In first you learn who planted and set off the bomb.
You get another tiny location that connects directly from the metro station to an private security office.
Second one is a self contained story with Pritchard and some hacker chick where you raid that long weird blade building in the background of Prague hub above the water, feel more coherent and rounded up than the main story. You also get another small Prague hub with it.
Second DLC is worth playing, first is worthless.
>This is what fucking happens when you hire a writer and game designer with no experience to write a sequel to a narrative based game/
Is that true? Did they really change the HR writers/designers?
That's because soundtracks rarely, if ever, include ambient tracks in the official soundtack, but fans still rip it from the game anyway. I think there's an OGG rip over on Rutracker.
>RAM memory
>game feels cut in half
>keeps reusing stock footage and CG from the previous game + commercials
>the new augs aren't even that creative or new
game felt cheap desu
And that's exactly what makes it better
Yeah the previous writer got fired, they got 2 people to be first time writers. Both veteran big shoots in Square.
Feel like a case of favoritism and cronyism, since nether of them were qualified for the position.
Still i really doubt they actually wrote the dialogue, they are credited with writing the story, but im 100% someone else had to come in and write the dialogue itself, especially the parts in czech. Which is even more insane they got the position in the first place.
>Both veteran big shoots in Square.
>Square
p-pls no
Do you have a source?
I very much preferred when it was just a background theme, and not the entire story. More luminaty please.
>Did they really change the HR writers/designers?
afaik the head writer is the same person as the HR one.
>More luminaty
This 100%. I hate how they tease it in the end of MD
>"Alex, we must go after the Illuminati, they can't keep getting away with this shit"
>"Sure Adam, see you in the sequel."
It was never meant to be a tease, it was supposed to be the story's climax. But the game was cut into pieces by Square Enix to make more money.
This is an extremely small gripe, but it wiped out an extremely large part of my enjoyment
ADAM NOT COCKING HIS WEAPONS AS HE PULLS THEM OUT
Mary DeMarle wrote HR
MD doesn't have her, and instead has Jason Dozois and Steven Gallagher
>Dem memories of repeatedly pulling out your pistol as you walked places
Wow, really? I thought they kept her. What a shame
Glad I'm not the only autist who did this
Prague is best hub in the series
No, i did my own digging after i finished the game to figure out what the fuck went so wrong.
I went on google, checked who was credited with writing the new game, who on the old.
I googled all the names involved, checked what they worked on and in what positions.
Rest isnt hard to figure out.
First big flag was the fact nether of the had any wikipedia page and were not involved with the series before. Then obvious problem the last games writer was instead credited with the original story for this game, which i assumed was adapted into this mess. But even then nobody out of them 3 speak czech, so there was a fourth writer involved.
Entire production seems like a fucking mess with more and more people being brought onto the project.
Am I the only one who hated having someone yell at you every 10 minutes for not advancing the main quest?
After the third time they remind you they stop doing it.
That was only in the beginning though.
Golem City should have been a proper hub.
Huh. I remembered it being much more often. Could be wrong.
>no option to join the Church of the Machine God
That behaviour perk was a load of shit.
Spend all that money in facial recognition technology only to have the player keep their eyes glued to the top left of their screen.
It also killed some of the gameplay as that section was littered with puzzles, mines, etc that never got activated if you talked her down.
Would have been a fun fight.
Same with the nerdy dude that wants to take the AI off you. In the basement of the clock shop, you have a fun timed bomb defusal puzzle if you see out his game or he dies in one shot if you use the behaviour perk and see through his bullshit.
Game was bollocks.
>Augmenting work force cheaper than replacing them with robots/automation
0/100 tier writing.
I'm glad someone can agree the social aug is complete bullshit.
It reduces character interactions to 'press these buttons in the correct order to win' instead of letting the player basing their responses on character inflection, tone, their previous actions, etc.I never got the social aug in Human Revolution but got it in Mankind Divided because it was the only way to save Daria
You can even tell they designed the game's dialogue challenges around the stupid aug because people like the chemist in the underground lab will refuse to help you no matter what you say, and can only be convinced using the aug.
I hope they skip on that bullshit in the sequel.
>DOKLADY DOKLADY
> true GOTY
It's good, better than HR but it's not Dishonored 2
>get to L O N D O N
>oh wow it's like I'm actually playing a deus ex game now!
>have fun with the boss
>credits roll
What the flying fuck is this
Why did she have that aug that covers her in spikes or whatever, isn't that a custom aug only Adam and gold masks had?
...
>isn't that a custom aug only Adam and gold masks had?
Tai Yong is in the illuminati's pocket, so the Tai Yong scientist who operated on Daria probably gave it to her (why? no idea).
Jensen probably has that aug because he was in the care of a Tai Yong doctor when he was in a 'coma'.
>>have fun with the boss
> Duck and cover as soon as fight starts
> Run to vent
> Sneak up into control room
> Hack security console
> Turn turret and robots against boss
> Hide behind desk
> Boss comes into room
> Zap once with stun gun
> Takedown
No uber games expert here but I did that on my second goat the boss and it made it all feel pretty meh.
If anyone actually went around and took out all those dodgy waiters then I would love to know how that worked out as I gave up.
Because Human Revolution was a fine reboot, but it was time for something new, that kind of "decide if you sneak or shoot" type of a game is the second most overbloated AAA game genre out there, next to "Open world with bases, choose your own approach" games.
All we got was a game where you sneak into apartments, read up a ton of mostly uninteresting lore and do some forgotable main quests on the side. The bank and the cyborg slum were nice, but most of the other shit were just pretty much normal apartments, why would I want to explore normal apartments and read about them being oppressed because they got a metal arm in a Deus Ex game, when I should be going deeper and deeper into the Illuminati rabbit hole
dishonored 2 is better in every aspect
ehh, dunno, i just looked at the answers and the tips
didnt pay attention to that glowing crap
they should have just had the tips, some kind of scale that measures the heartrate and thats all
teh idea is good, but the realiztaon is shit
I just shot tranqs into generic bald russian bad guy's head until he fell asleep. Took like 20 or 30.
Why does the subway have naturals and augs queues when everyone you speak to or see has robot legs or arms?
Why do cops have to constantly stop you for ID?
Why did they wait for you to get all the way to the Interpol base while the curfew was on to trigger either the speak with Sarif for the last time / deal with the murder cat lady - both were triggered when you climbed in the window of the place. Was it to artificially lengthen the game by having you now needing to sneak all the way back through the town to the train station?
Why when you get a distress call from murder cat lady, does Jensen just calmly stroll along the train tracks to get to her?
Why does he walk like the gimp in The Usual Suspects when it shows his feet when he is walking along the train tracks?
is that killer transplanted memory just a reference to how the Jensen clone was built?
>Why do cops have to constantly stop you for ID?
The do it only if you go into the human train, if you go into robot one they dont stop you
also figured it out after 3 or 4 stops
Probably cluing it in.
I finished HR multiple items but i got quickly bored of this, it also ran poorly for me and i have a pretty decent pc.
It's one of two times this year where I've had high hopes for a game, those hopes have been matched and yet I still felt underwhelmed at the end of it, same happened with Dishonored 2.
Both were great games that met everything I expected from them, yet neither managed to blow me away.
