Nothing angers me more than the fact that people buy david cage games unironically. I just dont understand it. I've listened to people talk about how amazing Heavy Rain was as an interactive narrative despite the best part about that game being that you could ignore your wife asking you to bring the groceries in.

Poorly written. Impossible to become emotionally invested in them. Indigo Prophecy starts off interesting and turns into retarded imaginary giant bugs invading the workplace bullshit and aliens. Any gameplay elements in the game are found better elsewhere. Same with story.

They arent good games. They arent good movies. Theyre just places for some french retard hack to dump his creative writing class rejections onto the world.

David Cage's problem is that he only thinks up to a certain point and then tries to make different things.

It'd be like if Silent Hill started out with the Cult and Harry Mason and finding Cheryl, but he only ever got up to the School in writing. Then decided that he wanted to write something else, so now he started writing about Aliens and UFOs, so he puts that in there (not even as a joke ending), then he only writes that up until the Amusement Park, and after that he decides he wants to write about how the Aliens and the Cult was actually SKYNET, who is actually an electronic demon from Hell, which Hell is actually also a country on Earth on a small island in the snow.

Its like a 12 year old with ADHD who can't focus on one thing at a time.

Which is a real shame because every single game has a strong initial premise and then just goes apeshit. Heavy Rain was probably the one kept under wraps the most in terms of story, and then Beyond Two Souls (which it got wonky as fuck after awhile with the whole Soul Machine thing). Indigo Prophecy and Omikron were just all over the place though.

Curious how Detroit is going to go, I'm going to imagine this.

I agree about Prophecy, it started good then the entire Aztec Matrix shit was plain retarded because it was out of nowhere and the bugs were retarded.

But what about Heavy Rain and Beyond? Heavy Rain had a good story, it could easily be translated to a movie.
Beyond followed the same thing as Heavy Rain. I found them both to be quite good games and there was really nothing as retarded as in Indigo Prophecy in them.

I genuinely enjoyed Omikron at the time. Don't want to play it again, though.

David Cage is legitimately good when he keeps his retarded supernatural and wacky ideas to a minimum. The second they take center-stage and become the focus is the second the quality goes to shit, and the whole thing becomes an exercise in which you try to decide if the good parts of the story are worth sitting through the bad and the abhorrent.

And how does he keep getting the money for these games, anyway? They're undoubtedly super expensive to make and I can't imagine a game like Beyond pulling Call of Duty numbers.
