How is this game even possible?

Its a AAA open world game that isn't generic like all other generic Ubisoft open world games or janky like Bethesda or Techland games.

Is it just Slav Magic?

Also they say Ubisoft is using the Witcher 3 as inspiration for Assasin's Creed Empires. I hope they can recapture some of that slav Magic.

>Witcher
>Not generic

It's medieval high fantasy, there's nothing very original about it.

It's also a clunky mess when it comes to actual combat.

Slav magic. I still keep revisiting this game over and over because I can't find anything to replicate how amazing it is. Feelsbadman.

>ubisoft capturing anything remotely decent
I wouldn't hold out hope.

Witcher 3 is pretty fucking generic, from the spammy combat (it even has QTEs) to the copy pasted quests

Oh I wonder what I will have to do now, I know! Use my godvision and click on the highlighted shit.

10/10 roleplaying game of the year

its the only open world game in the last 5 years with decent content GTAV is too online focused

Witcher 3 is a shit game, if you want real good RPG crafted with heart play Gothic 2 NoTR

You could give Ubisoft the Holy Grail to copy and they'd still produce a glass of tap water

Because CDProjekt is a passionate studio like EA and Ubisoft used to be before they got ruined by SJW's, politics and greedy cunts to make a quick buck.

You remember those parts of the game in the swamp, sacrificing kids to witches, having ritualistic orgy on the mountain and stuff?

It's all real.

>Slav magic
>cost like 80 million to make
>one of the most expensive games of last year

Why do people keep acting like the Witcher 3 wasn't a AAA title with a triple A style budget?

Witcher isn't high fantasy though, is it?

AC4 was inspired by Sid Meier's Pirates and that was decent.

Difference is they actually made an effort.

I know it was expensive but so was Watch Dogs and all the other generic open world games ubisoft and EA churn out.

>it even has QTEs
Do shitposters even play games?

It was the same bland bullshit of every AC since 2 with a fun gimmick that quickly became boring.

>not generic
>half the game is copypasted

no it's really not, that's why it is regarded as one of, if not the best open world games of all time.

Witcher 1 and 2 are literally better in every way besides graphics.

>Shitty UI
>Boring combat
>shitty magic and alchemy system
>Everything has to be gritty muhh mature tiddies

So is Skyrim ;^)

yeah because Skyrim was one of the first to do a great open world game. but the witcher did it better. had better story, better characters, arguably better combat, and more depth.

Posting in the official hourly contrarian thread.

Shit combat, couldn't play it for more than 8 hours.

i wish it had character creator
i'd play as cute little girl witcher
as it is this game is for fags

Nah, Fallout 1 and 2 were always much better open world games. Better story, believable and likeable characters, better combat, more depth, and organic quest design the likes of which have never been seen since.

i never got chance to play them. i'd probably buy them if they were to get remastered on to the PS4.

Witchers can only be male.

I wish a could have made a hot Witcher lady, though.

The Slav magic comes from what they actually accomplished with that investment. You know damn well every other shit tier triple A like Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Deux Ex, etc. etc. costed the same if not more and all were far technically inferior to TW3.

And the Slavs worked this magic making a game that doesn't even really try to cater to the mainstream, not trying to make a game with a net as wide as possible but instead making a quality game the target audience would enjoy immensely.

>costed the same if not more
Not really. Which is why it's one of the most expensive games ever made.

>doesnt even really try to cater to the mainstream
They did. Its bloated marketing budget, simple pickup and play jack of all trades comabt and skyrim-like open world proves it.

>Not really. Which is why it's one of the most expensive games ever made.

You are basing this statement off of what data?

the same data as you used: muh ass

You could have just googled it.

Remember that there's references at the bottom before you get butthurt about a wikipedia source.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop

Holy fucking shit. Slav fucking magic boys

>TORtanic = 200m

jesus fucking christ.

>directly proves that TW3 wasn't that expensive to make compared to other AAA giants like Toddlers game

wew lad

Witcher 3's Open World is EXTREMELY generic

It would have benefited way more from a smaller hub world system instead of massive stretches of nothing with villages that you can't do anything in

>destiny cost 500 fucking million dollars to make

90% of that HAD to be marketing, right? There's seriously not 25 million dollars of game in that piece of shit.

The Witcher 3 is the best open world game I've ever played.

Just started going through the expansions recently and it still has that magic.

I've tried to get through Skyrim 2 or 3 times now and I can't because it's just so dull and generic.

>140 million dev cost

Nevermind, that is still absurd though. I can't believe it cost that much to develop such a content-less game.

What village is that? Almost every village I think I've been through is linked to some quest in TW3..

Are you not doing any side quests or something? Not surprised. Most negative critics haven't even played through the game.

>proves that it's more expansive than Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Deus Ex
>b-but there are far more expensive games

wew lad. By the time Star Citizen is finished every game ever made will be demoted into indie status.

>Isn't generic
>Writing is literally the most generic drivel possible
>Combat is the most boring, dull tripe out of any action game in recent years, final boss is literally endless repetion of a three button combo
I want CDPR shills to fuck off already.

There's a lot of tiny villages where there's no taverns, shops, etc.

Going through them once for a side quest hardly justifies its existence. The only time that was ever done well is the side quest where the couple in the deserted village are cannibals

Those aren't even listed on that wikipedia page ( probably because they haven't told the budget) but skyrim cost more than TW3 even though Skyrim runs on the same engine as morrowind, has like 5 voice-actors and bethesda only has like 100 employees.

>Skyrim
>probably because they haven't told the budget
Baseless claim

>Skyrim
Again, that's just one AAA game. If you wantrd to throw jabs at Skyrim then you should have singled out Skyrim in your first posy. The point is that TW3 is an expensive, AAA game with a massive budget towering over the average AAAA budget.

>proves that it's more expansive than Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Deus Ex

Explain this then. Those budgets are unknown. What is your source for this? Your ass?

Passionate game development team outside of the grasp of Juden equals good games.

What is your source for:
>every other shit tier triple A like... costed more or the same

You made a claim, you never backed it up. So back it up. That list proves the outrageously high budget of the TW3. Other AAA games aren't averaging that high of a budget, so prove to me thst thry are, like you claimed.

I'm not the guy who said that but you know that just because someone doesn't back up their claim doesn't mean you can star making baseless claims right?

>Shitty asscreed combat system

No fucking thank you

No it eas a low-fantasy setting.
For example:
High Fantasy => Warcraft settings.
Low Fantasy => Conan the Barbarian settings.
In other words: "High fantasy takes place in a fantasy world that isn't analogous to our own. Low fantasy takes place in a fantasy world that can be compared to ours."

>inb4 reddit

My problem with The Witcher 3 are the fucking controls, it feels so clunky, like the character is sliding all the time, not to mention the combat, the biggest problem is that the light attack makes a different move every time you press it and there's no way to know what Geralt is going to do.

At least in Fallout 4 I feel in control of my character, with Witcher 3 it just feel so wrong, this didn't happen in Witcher 2.

They are maniacs of game design. Their decision to summon chort for grinding cows in a starting zone still gives me pleasant vibes. The only think that sucked is non-english va.

>It's also a clunky mess when it comes to actual combat
Felt fine to me, git gud, it's actually pretty easy.
