I have a pretty good idea
The existence of god.
The one where you dance around a carved pole of wood and then a bunch of white guys come along and kill you and your people and claim your lands just to bring in people from another continent and torture them a bit.
To restore proper puritan values to young men and women in America. But she'd need help.
m.youtube.com
you forgot the diseases they bring with them
Sup Forums used to love Okami and talked about it much more frequently. What happened?
Stop a toddler George Washington with an oversize axe from chopping down all the cherry trees in the orchard!
>Paul bunyon and his magnificent beard roaming the woods
>Abraham lincoln and the log cabin maze
>Using power slash on the old cherry tree
>Fighting in the civil war as a hound dog
>Painting in the american renissance
Good games in general don't have long lasting threads bc Sup Forums can't shit on it
>You will never play okami for the first time again
>You will never listen to youtube.com
>You will never be gladly surprised by her being playable on MvC3 and getting a remix, along with a sequel on okamiden
>Okami is a 10 years old game
Fuck bros, why can't we have nice things like this anymore?
Is this what the death of AAs brought us to?
Kamiya has expressed interest in making a proper okami sequel "If he ever gets the chance"
Turns out being a cult classic doesn't make a game a "true" classic.
Not many people have played that game, so without nostalgia and the games media constantly sugesting you should like this particular old thing, it fell into ostracism.
>American
>Folklore
I don't care about American folklore, I just what a proper Okami sequel!
I adore the soundtrack. Wep'keer's theme is also really beautiful.
But is that enough?
There is only so much to be had.
One of the reasons its discussed so much, is that it was ported enough to have people actually play it.
Unlike something like SOTC where you might have tried 1-2 bosses at a friends house, if he had a PS2 and the game
>so without nostalgia and the games media constantly sugesting you should like this particular old thing, it fell into ostracism.
I remember that Okami was considered a critical darling when it came out, with the Wii port and the DS game getting a lot of attention from journos, but yes nowadays journos don't bring up Okami anymore.
REAL AMERICAN HERE
it would be a psychedelic johnny appleseed simulator
Well, there was that article that mentioned capcom trying to revive old IPs, maybe they can get to make a deal with platinum so they can get kamyia to head development.
But i wouldn't count on capcom doing this, sounds too good and not profitable at all, considering capcom's current situation.
Kamyia could try making a similar game, but would it have the same atmosphere and aesthetics that made okami as good as it is,and without making it see as a carbon copy?
Stay mad Shitting Bear we took your land fair and square
But they already killed and tortured each other before the white man came.
I modestly budgeted Okami game could turn a profit. Half the reason why Okami failed in the first place was because nobody knew what the hell it was, but it has an audience now.
Though to be honest if Kamiya's going to put in charge of any capcom IP again it had better be Viewtiful Joe 3.
I was going to think of something cleverer to this but I spaghettied instead
>was because nobody knew what the hell it was
Okami failed in Japan for a lot of reasons. Mostly that Clover wassn't good at budget and time.
In The West, Okami failed because it wasn't advertized.
Okami is one of those games you read about in a magazine, and then don't buy.
That's because the game isn't marketable on the west, normies jokes aside, who is the target audience? Only people that are really into games that like japan and fans of the artstyle, how can you market a story you may not even understand, somethings don't even make sense to the average "gamer".
Regardless, it's a shame the game didn't sell well. It has a cult following, but I guess it's not enough to warrant a sequel to Okamiden or Okami.
If Pokemon is anything to go by, Okami is perfectly markedable.
The problem is that you need to do it.
And if you don't, its just another game.
I bet you could do a pretty great game based on the whole Romulus and Remus Roman brother thing
You say that like the Japanese didn't do that to the native people of Japan
Could you? It would require actual digging into Italian folk lore
It would be like Project S.T.E.A.M. except good

Except STEAM was good, nobody actually played it and memed on it. It easily beats FE by a longshot in terms of strategy and tactics
