You should fuck your xbox

Get Circus Maximus and play it with a friend or your mom

Gunvalkyrie, one of the most hardcore and skillful games in existence.

6th gen console games with progressive scan support.

Also one of the most annoying to control.

The controls give you a degree of freedom unrivaled by other games when you understand them, though.

Nothing if it isn't modded and you have no games. Plenty of good stuff if she got you games like Panzer Dragoon Orta and JSRF.

Doesn't change the fact that it makes the game a chore to play though.

what game OP

I bet you also think God Hand was a chore to play through.

Fact is, the standarized controls of today's market pretty much killed gameplay variety on their own, Gunvalkyrie is a game before that concept was internalized and shows the potential the medium could've aspired for if games had been more than disposable, easily accessible entertainment for the lowest common denominator.

No, God Hand is great, Gunvalkyrie is a game that was designed for a console with one analog stick, scrapped, and then ported over to Xbox with no regard for the new controller.

The fact that you think the controls in Gunvalkyrie are a result of anything but the fact that it was designed for the Dreamcast just shows that you need to step your fanboy game up.

The Hyperdimension Neptunia series

Ironically there are no neps on xbone

Now I doubt you even played the game. Gunvalkyrie uses all of the Xbox controller's buttons as well as it can, the Dreamcast didn't even have clickable analog sticks.

Educate yourself, child. It began as a Dreamcast game that was going to use a Lightgun and controller simultaneously. The Xbox controller was literally the furthest fucking thing from their minds when designing Gunvalkyrie.

You sound like someone whose first console was an Xbox.

>It began as a Dreamcast game that was going to use a Lightgun and controller simultaneously

Yes, and...? The core concept was the same, but when time came to actually push the project through on Xbox the team had different ideas in mind and the dual analog setup actually encouraged them to further polish the movement mechanics in a way they hadn't thought of before.

>You sound like someone whose first console was an Xbox.

It actually was a Dreamcast, my family was too poor to afford an actual console at the time so all I had was a Win95 PC my mom had gotten from her job and a GameBoy while growing up.

Mod that shit

If you already had the 360, there's only like 5 games you can play that you couldn't originally.

>Yes, and...?

And the controls are a result of trying to translate a very unique gameplay system to a controller that could not accommodate it, thus making it extremely awkward to play, obviously. People don't design games to be obtuse and annoying to play on purpose.

Unless you're Nintendo

How will you thank mommy? ;-)

I think you've watched too much of Game Maker's Toolkit. An unique control scheme can serve a purpose if the gameplay systems fit it accordingly, and if you get past the learning curve you wouldn't be able to play Gunvalkyrie the same way if you had a default twinstick setup. The controls were tailored for the experience and the advanced movement mechanics you need to pull off in it, but I guess it's far easier to just disregard the controls as a failure without giving it much thought.

big

>kassa

>buy PAL Xbox
>mod it for that sweet ass progressive scan
>running in some PAL games in progressive scan breaks some of them despite the content being identical on discs worldwide

There are plenty of unique, non-standard control schemes that work brilliantly and the game ends up better off for it. I just don't think Gunvalkyrie is one of them.

Get Blood Wake

I think I saw it being brought to you.

...

>Bought PAL Xbox.
>Softmodding always hit a dead end because the modded save files just would not appear on the USB when plugged into the Xbox, despite normal Xbox save files appearing just fine.
I just don't know what the issue is. Fuck it, most Xbox games are still cheap. I'll just build a physical collection.
If anything, it will help alleviate my guilt from when I was poor, had an Xbox and had to do the EB Games shuffle to play new games.
This time, I'm treating my games right.

Battlefront 2. Sadly, no private servers for 360 I believe.

You did transfer the saves from the USB to the internal HDD, right? What game were you using? Did you use the save files for the correct region?

The Xbox supports some USBs and some it doesn't. I tried another USB and behold it worked.
What I don't understand is the PAL progressive scan problem. All games break differently and it almost makes me wonder if the GPU revision has anything to do with it. For example Ninja Gaiden Black has a permanent screentear on the screen which is just mindboggling, I've never seen anything like it. Games like Digimon Rumble Arena and Freedom fighters seem stretched, as they overscan from the bottom essentially cropping the screen.

Use NTSC iso's my dude
