I really don't get the appeal of Monster Hunter. Seriously...

I really don't get the appeal of Monster Hunter. Seriously, I really don't and I always wonder why Sup Forums has a massive hard-on for this terrible game.

As a veteran of the Souls series starting with Demon's Souls and beaten Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 along with Bloodborne beating the DLC and NG+, (with Dark Souls widely known as the most difficult video game series), I consider myself an excellent gamer who can meet challenges head on and triumph over them

HOWEVER

Monster Hunter is terribly designed and over half of my deaths are from unavoidable bullshit from:

- flexing after healing (who's the fucking retard that made this)
- monsters stun you for 5 seconds after getting hit twice (absolute artifical difficulty don't deny it)
- Super slow weapons? (what the flying fuck?)

Seriously, how can anyone enjoy this clunky garbage?

What the fuck are these designs?

So Monster Hunter thread?

What are you guys' favourite monsters to hunt?

i really need to get a new 3ds so i can play monster hunter again. ever since the r shoulder button became unresponsive on my current 3ds, i havent been able to play, and each monster hunter thread kills me a little inside. also OP forgot the spoiler text

I fucking love Duramboros. I never get tired of that huge spinning motherfucker

This isn't even that bad. The new flagship is much worse, final fantasy tier.

Tiggy

I played through low rank 4g and loved it.
But fuck playing beyond the story, only masochists have time for that difficulty hike.

X really isn't gripping me whatsoever though.

So this is clearly the bait to start the thread but the game is genuinely bad. Just straight up poorly made.

>enemies have no health bars
Which is fine on it's own, but
>time limit
You can literally waste an hour of your life on absolutely nothing, since you have no way of knowing if you're actually doing anything to the monsters. You have to dedicate your entire life to just this one game. Awful.

Yeah since op has to be ironically shitposting to start a monhun bread.

Its been a thing for a while now to start uour monhun thread retardedly by flamewar-tier hateposting as if you actually mean it.

>if he's serious. Then he's the biggest fucking tool on Sup Forums for being the stupidest casualfag going around.

GORE
Hope that jet-dragon fights similarly to him

Is this your first MH?

It's alright guy, the OP was enough.

Threadly reminder that Gen is shit and GenX will be shit also!

>they're wasting time and resources on mh double fucking cross
Kill me

4 was shit and 4U was shit also, your point?

4U is the best MH game.

What the fuck, I hate monster hunter now

Lame meme.

Tigrex is very enjoyable to fight, I also like Khezu and Shagaru.

But my favorite is White Fatalis.

Nice, I see your irony.

People's only problem with shagaru is his random spouts of darkness right?

considering it's the only difference between it and gore and gore is an ok fight, yeah

But those are a really big deal of a problem.

what? why? I'm being sincere.

All the Tigrexes are fun as fuck to fight with my lance.

Khezu is fun and I also enjoy to see how shitters get punished by him.

Shagaru is just fucking great.

And Fatalis hits me right in the nostalgia.

Good one, user.

Akura Vashimu

>Seriously, how can anyone enjoy this clunky garbage?
Go play Bayonetta if you want fast. This is a methodical game, and you'll never appreciate it if you shit on it for not doing what it doesn't try to.

kek ´git gud

now you've gone and done it

I love the truth of this image so much.

Is Gen online still populated?
I played for a while in June after release. But haven't touched it since

>Monster hunter
>Methodical
>Not fast placed

Someone needs to start using SA, DB, SnS, Lance or LBG that way you will reach the fast.

So will Capcom hook it up with a worldwide release of XX?

You know, after playing the Souls games and BB, I really appreciate MH combat a lot more. It's a lot more polished and methodical and makes you really emphasize proper spacing as opposed to the shitty i-frame abuse in every Souls games or just hiding behind shields.

was playing gens after a break and while playing earlier games in the series and I noticed it's unresponsive as fuck

is it because I'm playing on an OG3DS or is it like that in general I was using GL so maybe it was that

I never touched online user

how far are you into the guild quests?

Going from MH to souls is easier.
Bloodborne feels like what Monster Hunter could have turned into if Capcom were not lazy fucks and kept using the PS2 base.

"A hunter is a hunter, even in a dream." made me smile

>dodge and R1 spam
>what Monster Hunter could have turned into

Nah

Could be the older 3DS. I've noticed that the new 3DS is a lot better in processing power.

particle effects and lighting were a mistake

Charging up a GS strike to smack the monster that was charging you in the face is probably one of the best feelings in all of video games.

A split second too slow and you don't ramp up enough damage to stagger it and a split second too fast and you miss the sweet spot damage.

That said, why would you play any weapon other than GS? All the other melee weapons are just spammy combo sorts and all of the ranged weapons feel really bland.

I was hoping the bow might give off a similar vibe with shooting a piercing shot through the entire body of a monster, but it doesn't feel nearly as impactful in comparison.

There's still a decent amount of people playing

its a fact though

that's because you haven't mastered the hammer uppercuts

>that little timeframe between charges where you become a godly stunning machine
>that slide
>that accuracy you get when you git gud and can predict slide uppercuts to the head of a moving monster
GS is cool but hammer is godtier to me

You're not being very funny anymore, my friend.

kind of agree, after playing DS3 for a couple hundred hours I was fucking shocked playing MH FU (first I've played) having to actually time attacks. More polished? I'd say no, hitboxes are fucked and projectiles are buggy (thrown ones anyway). Having said I plowed through FU, playing P3rd now and will then cry myself to sleep knowing there's nothing else I can emulate for a while.

GS is too slow for my tastes. I get super impatient when soling the hard stuff.
Hammer is love, hammer is life.
Any post that claims otherwise is b8

MonHun hitboxes are fucking incredible though. What exactly is your complaint?

>love using HH
>hate using hammer
Is something wrong with me?

>just hit g2 in 4u
>tfw game is still dead
Oh well
Still having fun

It's hard to target specific body parts

>trying to cut off tail
>hit registers on leg

>directly under the fucker, staring up his ass, fully charge my GS
>hits head and bounces

This is just based on FU and P3rd tho

Literally the only times I've come anywhere close to timing out was when I soloed dalamadur and ukanlos.
But it takes me like 20 minutes to do hr/g rank shit so I'm pretty bad anyway.

GS is pretty vanilla though. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love GS but there's not much movesets. Dual blades and other weapons can also be a lot of fun.

>Be GS user
>Have Hammer Bro
>Hit the tail and the cut stumble forward sends it right into the golfswing of Hammerbro KO'ing the monster

As a person who used to play GS, it just got really fucking boting to play it.
>charge lv3
>hit
>slap
>Super charge lv3
>hit
>lv3 super swing

>MonHun hitboxes are fucking incredible though
in what universe

The only shitty hitbox in MH is Plesioth.

HH and Hammer are very different weapons designed for different people.

Hammer is all out attack, head on combat (literally), and rewards being reckless, it don't need any specific armor skills, KO is pretty easy to do.

HH need to set up and time songs in order to work correctly, it can KO but is best used to drain energy out of the monsters, if used online it can be fucking brutal.

Sheer attack vs Attack/support.

IT's like a bad Skyrim.

Agreed

>monsters stun you for 5 seconds after getting hit twice

>Getting hit
>Ever
git gud

>Not spinning the stick/mashing buttons to cut the stun time by leaps and bounds

Probably doesn't even know that moving around constantly while in snowball'ed state makes you break out of it faster too.

Oh boy I remember saying that when I played Dark Souls, what is this clunky garbage?

4U players, how many hundreds of Rajangs did you kill total?

2800

Azurevolt Astalos
Godseye Mizutsune(or Tengan/Amame)
Silvermount Gammoth

like 3

my save got corrupted at G2 before any grindan could be done

>tfw no monster hunter port for pc
Why

Monster hunter was fun, I'm not exactly feeling the same way for some of the souls games. Different games appeal to different people I guess.

nice m8, I only got to 700 something

How do I deal with Najarala's Clanging Scales in G-Rank?

I hope this is bait lmao

about tree fiddy

Most of the 140s that I did were deviljhos, I ignored apex monkey dick by the most part

I know this is pasta but it made me sad to read the steam god eater forums and the amount of people complaining about flexing was depressing

nobody understood the purpose of balancing healing and adding risk reward to it but then again it was a GE forum
