Denuvo has no negative consequences for paying consumers

>Denuvo has no negative consequences for paying consumers
>2 recently cracked denuvo games have denuvo removed for people who bought the game, in an update
Why would they remove denuvo if it didn't affect customers? After the games were cracked?
Truly makes me ponder upon this situation...

...

The games in question, by the way, are Inside and Doom, both recently updated to remove denuvo, on steam.

>guiz look these old games that run on weaker hardware and have been on sale for less than $5 and been on humble bundles have more copies sold

Kys

I see your point, maybe it's right... but something to consider - a lot of the games on the left have regularly sold for less than $5 on sale

Bait image, but there's no doubt that since Denuvo, most sequels that use it are shit (Far Cry Primal, DE:MD, Dishonored 2)

It's because the company's contract with Denuvo is over since it didn't serve its purpose. Due to that, they can't keep the software in their game. If I'm not mistaken, Denuvo even gives their money back.

Did someone run benchmarks with and without denuvo?
Now that would be very interesting.

Doom was only updated today

>even gives their money back
Is that true? I can imagine eventually at some point most (if not all) denuvo games get cracked, how would they make any money then?

It's not a complicated process which requires days, or hours even.

This hopefully means we can now actually MOD the game. That is if they give us the tools however. Denuvo stops you from tampering with the .exe so there was no reason for them to even bother.

This is why Fallout 4 or any future TES game will not have Denuvo. The modding scene for these games is not something you want to fuck with as the paid mod fiasco showed them.

those fucking greentexts

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it possible to have Denuovo and allow modding?

You wouldn't be able to use stuff like Script extenders but if it's set up like say Stellaris where it just loads files from a folder and overrides content it would be fine.

You're right, skin texture mods, swapping models and other minor adjustments is still possible.

But things like external resources and script extenders like in Oblivion and Skyrim would be unusable. Official modding tools like Creation Kit would be unusable.

unless a solution that covers every game comes out to remove denuvo, it's not possible knowing the time it takes to get a single game working and how many groups can actually do this to begin with, especially considering the ever-so-increasing list of games using denuvo.

Limbo was given away for freeeee

What were the 2 games?

I didn't even notice it had Denuvo. DOOM I mean. I knew it had it, but I never really noticed it.

I don't mind it being gone either, fuck it.

Why would you? Denuvo affecting performance is a meme that has literally never been proven. DOOM ran great even with it.

anno 2070 already protect himself with uplay with it needs danuvo?

MAYBE DENUVO ISN'T PURCHASED WITH A FLAT FEE

MAYBE THE DEVELOPERS DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR DENUVO LICENSING NOW THAT IT'S WORTHLESS FOR THAT GAME IN PARTICULAR

MAYBE MY CAPS LOCK IS ON AND I DONT WANT TO RETYPE THIS

Will Denuvo just die because it's shit?
It's sad story
