Response times on decent brand panels are so good now these days that it doesn't even matter. And if these gamecube games are being emulated on the switch then they will most likely be upscaled to your display resolution.

Agreed, which is why Nintendo actually revisiting Melee would be a losing proposition.

They'd find some way to fuck it up, such as no/bad online or something equally silly. Any tourney players who'd otherwise have been interested will refuse to buy it. Nintendo will see the low sales numbers, be convinced that the competitive Melee scene was just a fluke, and then respond by casualizing Smash 5 even more.
