Aside from pic related what are some other games that are objectively perfect and have zero flaws?
Games that are literally perfect
You first.
Simpsons Hit & Run
Republic Commando
Kameo: Elements of Power
that's all I can think of
heh well done friend *tips*
>watching rurik die
>that entire white mantle arc
>killing glint for the first time
>killing your doppelganger
>killing undead rurik
I just wish I got to try the hall of heroes at least once, but it was almost impossible to get in without having experience
>hold HoH for so long that your party starts logging off
>tfw still holding and winning with mercs
Ya missed out, unranked scrub
My tears renew every time this game is brought up. For I remember how they raped Guild Wars when they created that abomination, Guild Wars 2.
>You will never sustain over a hundred bonefiends with just Verata's Sacrifice again.
The rape may have happened in GW2, but the tip was already on its way in by NF/EotN. Support for the actual PvP and guilds was on its way out in place of le epic generic story and PvE grind.
Would anyone be interested in doing a playthrough of Prophecies for nostalgia's sake? Seem like it would be kinda cool if we could get a full party of oldfags together.
Hnng, the collectable ability gameplay with pokeball-blank tiles. Endless build customizing and multiclasses. Delicious!
It hurts even more than I can't remember the account email I used for Guild Wars, so I can't even go back and play the story again.
All those Elite armours, gone forever in the aether of discontinued tech support.
only if we all go sin
obligated to post
also this song hits hard
youtube.com
What was the best campaign? Prophecies for me.
I wouldn't even know where to begin reclaiming my account since NCSoft came out with all that merging and master account bullshit.
If you know one of your character's name you could get Anet's support to send you which email it was.
Phantasy Star Online is flawwed as fuck, but the core gameplay loop is neat.
Each weapon has different swing arcs, laser blade has to connect to deal damage, all weapons can attack in combos of three - but you have to match the timing of your press to the moment each attack finishes animating.
You'd have co-op, and since hit stun was basically your only defence against getting smacked around you'd subtly time your melee attacks with your mate's ranged attacks in a way so your combos would weave together.
Then, end game slams you with % drop rare weapons that add gimmicks to your arsenal, each players name actually determining the selection of weapons they can find. Meant when we started new characters we got a different set of weapons.
Nostalgia vomit complete.
lol
If you played this game in 2005 and did a lot of Arena I probably pissed you off at least one time.
Best CoP monk the game has ever seen.
It's 1am on a wednesday night and now that I'm listening to this it's making me incredibly sad
tfw will never do voltaic spear running again
or UW runs
Just one more time...Take me back lads
Don't do it. If you have fond memories of it they will be ruined if you go back now. Trust me.
too late i am already there
...
Played Factions the most so, Factions for me.
Never did get around to finishing Prophecies, I really should.
Prophecies in the early days was magic.
>Guild Wars 1 was so fucking fantastic
>They fucked it up so badly in GW2
Good lord
They didn't know why GW1 was good. Almost everything they changed/added was a slide down.
I'll gladly believe you. I was a little late but I have very fond memories of all 4 campaigns. I'll do anything to go back just once
I don't know man. Its hard to believe that they were actually trying to make a good sequel. And i'm still bitter over it honestly. With all of the resources and budget they had they could have made something spectacular. But they made dog shit instead.
New campaigns were always something special, but at the start of Prophecies nobody even knew how to play well, so exploring the world map or doing missions felt like a huge intense quest in a way the later expansions didn't. The environments were also much more varied, so every new zone was amazing.
>tfw struggling out of the Shiverpeaks for the first time and Temple of Tolerance starts playing
>youtube.com
It also had the longest build-up to level 20, which gave it a different feel than the later games (not really ANet's fault, they had to have shorter lvlup zones since most players were already level 20).
>mfw GW2
Why did it have to happen, Sup Forums? Why couldn't they have just made more games like Factions and Nightfall?
EotN was kinda bad.
We're having fun.
You are not even in the team anymore. One of Anet's co founders took your place as director and is actually making the game better now, a little too late.
>EotN was kinda bad.
We forgave EotN. They were working on GW2. We understood it was phoned in.
But holy shit GW 2 was bad.
Diablo 2 Pre-LoD
Factions>Prophecies>=Nightfall>Dogshit>EotN>Cold Dogshit>Any of the mission packs
It was the harbinger of things to come.
If only you listened...
>release Ursa pve skill
Now that was some broken shit
A true 10/10.
...
>Factions first
Good lord Factions was fantastic. Short but fantastic.
youtu.be
I only played Prophecies and Nightfall. Never tried Factions. I was dumb back then.
I die inside when I realize I'll never go back to the majesty that was Guild Wars 1.
Guild Wars 2 is the biggest disappointment of my life.
Kill yourself.
>hear about gw2 in 2007
>hype was infinite
>saw years later how they designed skill bars
Gave up right then and there
RULES OF NATURE
>Instanced zones
>Single player MMORPG
>Invisible walls on hills
Guild Wars was awesome but far from perfect
>guys, we have a PvE and PvP system balanced around some of the same principles
>Our game focuses on designing multi-classed characters with a team focus
>Should we make more balanced fights, group enemies, and challenging content?
>NAH GRINDABLE PVE SKILLS LMAO
Beginning of the end my man
Oh also, Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Banjo-Tooie, but only the XBLA/Rare Replay version, since they don't have the framerate issues of the original.
truth hurts huh?
>one of your three complaints you could muster up was walls on hills
Makes it look like GW1 was the goat then huh
here you are
Fuck you
I keep trying to forget it to move on. The worst is that at least in the near future no new MMORPG will be able to get close to the magical experience because of the shift in demographic and userbase in general.
None of the games I've played are flawless.
I love The Evil Within, but it's flawed as fuck.
I love Lords of the Fallen, but it's flawed as fuck.
Original Diablo comes close.
StarCraft: Brood War plus patches is pretty fucking godly.
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction might be in contention for a perfect score.
Beyond Good & Evil is a game that has next to no flaws.
It's hard to find a game that can't be improved. Even the developers of """10/10""" games would change some shit if they had the time and budget.
...
It's not as difficult to pick a "flawless" game if you pick a simple game that has a simple goal it tries to do.
For example
>Critter Crunch
>A reckless disregard for gravity
>Dwarfs!?
>Everyday Genius
>Frozen Synapse
>Limbo
>Nidhogg
>Penguins Arena
>Portal
>Quake 3
>Super Meat Boy
>Terraria
>Worms armageddon
These games do exactly what they set out to do. Are they the best or most interesting games? Probably not, but they don't have bugs or glitches, visuals are not confusing, and the majority of "flaws" they may have are subjective.
Though terraria may have some flaws I'm forgetting about. Still pretty much gives you what it tells you it will.
>Prophecies
>Sin
Nigga what
All those coop ( without heroes ) moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
>do ranger spike for dem points
>Get rank 3 (the deer)
Probably the greatest feeling. Guild wars 1 was literally a 10.
guild wars 2 is torture
Literally perfect. Even has a complex and challenging combat thatn Dark Souls but Sup Forums is too casual and stupid to realise it.
GW1 was made primarily without the influence of WoW.
GW2 was and copies a lot of generic MMO mechanics because of it.
>Less grind with a level 20 cap
>Engaging stories right from the start
>Dual class fuckery gave you a bunch of combinations
>Taking skills from mobs was fun as fuck
>Everything being instanced made it impossible for people to steal mobs
>Fun PvP
>No PvE queues made it so you had to actually interact with people
GW1 was max comfy. Shame they ruined 2 so badly. Heroes were also a mistake, but I still loved Nightfall.
I honestly would have kept playing 2 if they didn't botch the class/skill system so fucking bad in comparison to 1. Thats my biggest gripe.
What was your favorite class combos guys?
I actually really liked EotN. Snow areas are the best settings in games.
>Why did it have to happen, Sup Forums?
It didn't.
>Diablo II: Lord of Destruction might be in contention for a perfect score.
but dupes are ruining ladder right now
>ranger underworld trapping runs
>ranger barrage underworld 2 with MMs
>ranger barrage runs of whatever the kurzick 12 people one was
>play trapper in the early days of faction for the luxon one
>paragon shared damage+absorption abuse
heroes which outplay 90+% of mmo players nowadays
If only arenanet hadn't grown bigger and lost its important members.
What was the best class and why was it ranger?
Kurzdick[/spoiler] or Suxon Sup Forums?
Which did you pick?
>getting to droknars forge for the first time
>crafting that armor from npcs
Reeee. I've never fucked up spoilers so badly before. Sorry friends for ruining it.
Which though?
Do you think they still keep the servers up out of pity, or remorse?
>Utopia NEVER
Goddamnit.
Anyone here have any run stories? I did it for a while but it got to be a pain as people didn't pay all the time.
>That feel when 8k hours in GW1
>That feel when i cannot even reach 2k hours on GW 2
I used to run LA to Ascalon, I forgot how much I charged but I remember I didnt like it but the only way I knew how to make plat.
Luxon all day
>tfw you'll never scrounge up all the money you can to get a run to LA only to realize you should have just played the story ever again
Feelsbadman
Conditions, interrupts, spirits, best master, traps, bunny jumper or whatever it was called, touchy touchy
Ranger was truly blessed since most armours for it looked amazing, too.
It was usually something like 2K for a run.
I'd do rushs from asca to LA and forge
I miss the game so much, but I'd rather keep those memories than ruining them by starting the game again
>GW 1 comes out
>The only thing people want necros is to be a blood batteries
>Sorrow Furnace came out
>People found out that prophecies minion masters were GOAT as fuck
>AOE skills nerfed, people found out that Spiteful Spirit and necro curses are actually GOAT, so they stopped stacking three elementalists on each teams
People learned so much about necros in these first six months.
Where are the guild wars clones, user? Why are there only WoW clones? Hell, it doesn't even have to be a clone as long as it's an improved GW.
SS necro, fucked shit up
>tfw none of my wow friends wanted to play gw1
>but I got my halo friends to play gw1
>it really made no sense
I played this again before gw2. I put about 100 hours in again because I never made the op bullshit team with 7 heroes. I didn't buy eotn before I quit either
So comfy adventuring and doing everything on hard mode with that op ai. Still difficult as long s you didn't pull too much or made sure to flag them out of aoe
Many WoW players pretended other MMOs were shit because they were already investing time and money into an MMO and felt the need to justify their decision. I saw GW players do it to, and it's really no different from the console wars that go on every day on Sup Forums.
Fuck I just want this exact game with redone graphics to bring in new players. All you'd need are artists to update it damnit.
I had a gf get me into it when it was already dead and dying sadly, this game was great.
>What was your favorite class combos guys?
I had a W/A warrior's endurance dagger build I used in pve.
Wasn't nearly the most effective, but was certainly fun to see a fuckhueg lumbering warrior in platemail spinning around and cutting mobs down.
Also had a fun W/P spear support build I used in dungeon groups, turned out to be surprisingly effective.
>MFW my GW 1 Guild Master was a 40 years old divorced milf that called out sluts when they tried get stuff from guild memebers
She was a total bro and she ended up marrying one of our guild member in real life. She was excited about GW2, bought it at release and only played it for 20 hours before going back to GW1. She's the only one still logging in our GW 1 guild, which have it's roster frozen in time forever.
>>Single player MMORPG
Except it was even stated by the devs NOT to be an MMO, but a CORPG, co-operative, not massively multiplayer.
>tfw pre-searing Ascalon
A/W
IAS + Death Blossom
Kurzicks were literally Linkin Park: The Faction. Luxon all day erry day.
With a necro casting Mark of Pain on your target.
>You'll never hit 20 in pre-searing
>Even if you do, nobody will be online to congratulate you for it
;_;
Agreed. Kurzicks always had control over fucking everything but the players were a bunch of fags. Had to go luxon
Mesmer/Elementalist with maxed fast casting and elementalist spells.
>Special Dunot steal lesbo mary sue character is called LAZARUS THE DIRE her floaty friend
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>flurry gives -25% damage penalty
>only applies to the 7-17 base damage of daggers
>-[2-4] damage
Kek. But really, critical agility is where it was at. That gave a retarded high IAS, had a crazy duration, and gave enough armor to compete with warriors.
>Kurzicks always had control over fucking everything
>mfw finally had the materials to get elite luxon armor, but kurzicks controlled the town
Fuck.
>all armors and weapons have the same max stats
Isn't that bad though? Shouldn't the material they're made from matter, a lot?
