You did let go, right?
You did let go, right?

I let go of the shitty game that was New Vegas.
Fuck these guns
Fuck this food
Fuck all these mini nukes I will never use
I CAN BUY MORE
yeah this
fallout 3 was better
When I first played I took a bar and let him get locked inside.
After than I usually just took it all and snuck out so I could fill my bathtub in vegas with it.
>People still think it was about giving up the gold
I really do love NV and it's theme, but that people can't grasp it baffles me. The game fucking beats you over the head with it, the DLCs especially so.
haha, no
watch hbomberguy's video on why fallout 3 was trash
God the DLCs for New Vegas were so shit.
Nothing like the Pitt or Point Lookout. Same goes for Fallout 4. Far Harbor is just boring.
Yes, I let go of New Vegas, which is terrible, and I bought Fallout 4 and the Season Pass for only $89.98
>take the corpse
>store all the loot in the corpse
>drag the corpse outside
>loot corpse once safe
I've literally never played a fallout game and I've seen enough of these threads to know this is the answer.
fucking this
I love linear stories where player choice is near nonexistent.
my opinions are my own, not some random youtubers
*waits patiently for a response from your BTFO*
not really it's hard to do between load zones
I slow walked to the exit
I took all the gold completely by accident because the game didn't activate the forcefield and I just strolled out because I didn't knew I was supposed to go the long way around.
Letting go is for chumps.
There's no point in taking it on PC.
If you're that desperate for caps, use console commands.
It's not about having enough caps. It's about storing the best loot in your lair, and knowing that you've plundered the game world to the best of your ability.
i took all of them by hiding behind the generator to the right on your way out of the vault hiding from elijah until he was right at the entrance. you should make it out the closest exit and lock him in there and gtfo
>watching Youtubers
Ironic given NV has no real quality lets plays
>likes PL and hates FH despite FH being superior to PL in everyway
no i turned on godmode and carried it all back
I didn't want it in the first fucking place and I was getting irritated at everyone telling me what a greedy sack of shit I was for getting clubbed over the head by a super mutant and dragged into some bullshit mess over some worthless old world gold.
If that you just shilling your own video may i suggest a video on fallout 4?
Sorry if this is just some random user
>TFW one gold bar is worth enough to buy just about everything in the game that you'd want/need
>Faggots wanted to try and take all of it even though you'd have nothing to spend it on.
You're all retarded
Dead Money was a fucking masterpiece of a DLC, loved every minute of it the first time I played it. I even enjoyed it more than the main story, I loved the setting and characters, plus getting to explore the Sierra Madre.
...
never played the new vegas dlc.
really want to considering i replay new vegas like twice a year.
youtube.com
I don't like lets plays but this is an exception
I always take the one on the desk next to the console and leave the rest alone
fuck that, I glitched those fuckers through
>letting go and taking nothing
>cheating to take everything
both wrong. the correct choice is to moderate yourself - take what you can carry and leave it at that.
thematically at least. what betters you as a person is what you choose to take with you out of stuggle and experience - taking everything (guilt, greed, hate, stress) weighs people down just as bad as all of the gold and ammo. but 'letting go' indicates you should simply start over
but the middle road is knowing that you can never start over. you're always the same person from when you were born no matter what you tell yourself - but you have different chapters of your life. a healthier thing to accept other than embracing the full burden of your trials or pretending to have completely abandoned your ghosts
>tfw New Vegas and especially Dead Money were subtle ways from Obsidian to tell us to let go of the franchise
I'm allowed to post *tips fedora* in response to this post right?
>the correct choice
The correct choice is to lock Elijah in the vault and listen to him die over the radio.
The gold is only there to further taunt him.
>you can only take a few at a time
>okay I'll just come back then
>"you know this is the last time you will visit the Sierra Madre because reasons"
In super RP runs I'd usually leave a police pistol in there with no ammo just to taunt him more
oh fuck
You might be on to something.
Nah, I grabbed all of it and crawled my out. Fuck that moral crap.
Deep/subtle social commentary is for pussies. I grabbed all the loot and left.
How did you miss the vault blowing up and the lift locking?
Not being able to come back to the sierra madre itself at all is dumb though
Australian book stores look fucked.
I grabbed all of it and snuck out. Get fucked cucks
I install certain mods when I play new vegas. I don't even play quests besides finding benny, I just like to explore and kill
What mods user?
I walked out of the Sierra Madre completely naked with nothing but gold filling my entire inventory because of that exact mindset
You're supposed to fill a bathtub with all that shit.
Yeah, this. Took a bunch of drugs first so I could carry it all too. No regrets.
As long as you have a reasonably good strength and get all of the carry weight perks, you can use buffout and dump the rest of your stuff and carry out a big chunk of the gold. Also, if you spend a point on the perk that lets you fast travel while over encumbered you can actually get back to home base. I might've missed out on the holorifle but at least I'm rich.
Pick up all 40 some bars. Drop them all so they end up as a single stack. Grab it, and walk to the exit while just holding it in front of you. Does this not work?
You can also blow Elijah's head off and cram them in there. I get the point the story is trying to make but FUCK THAT, I'm taking that gold.
How are you even capable of having fun with a mindset like that?
Be sure to check out Fallout 4; it might just fit you great taste.
>pick up gold bars
>drop them as a single stack
>pick them up using physics grab
Why would I let go?
Also shit-tier game regret being conned into it.
Someone tell me what I do wrong. No matter how many times I tried, I was unable to pick up the stack.
No problem using his head as a safe though.
enlighten me
The correct choice is taking the gold without cheating and locking elijah in the vault like the bitch he is
come on its not even hard, once you get out you just teleport to the sink and throw all the gold in your lovely room along with all the riches of the mojave
that was patched and doesn't work anymore, same thing with the corpse
you can still walk out with the gold without cheating nor weird abuses, like literally walk out while elijah gets trapped
Fallout 3 had no redeeming features
it brought fallout back.
The only good thing abou F3 is that it made NV possible. I hope the series dies with F4.
youre a silly goose if you want the series to end, especially with 4 as the anchor that the series will forever be judged on.
no, its oblivion/fallout mixed abomination.
What makes you think F5 won't be even worse?
The world was pretty fun to explore.
That one lever-action rifle was dank as fuck.
The way everything exploded into giblets was pretty entertaining too.
Quite a few of the quest-lines were pretty great as well.
Lots of great mods as a bonus, but that's more or less a given with Bethesda games.
Fallout 4 was a lot of fun
Best gameplay
Best companions
Best art direction
Best world map
Far Island is also the franchise's best expac by a LONG shot
it could be, but it also couldn't. Ill take those odds.
Who do you even give this to for you to have caps?
>go to any vendor
>gives you like 20% of the items value
>not having 100 barter
>playing stealth character
>get to this part
>pick it all fucking up
>drop nothing
>stealth waddle past boss and lock him in vault
It's just how Beth games are, they get worse by the installment.
>selling the gold
i bathe in it
Agree with you on companions and art, best they've ever been game play could be better but exploration is perfect
>thinks Skyrim was worse than Oblivion
well thats opinion based, in my opinion new vegas was better than 3. I loved 3 but NV was better for sure.
it was, the main problem with oblivion was the fucked up level scaling but every other aspect of the game was better
But that's a true fact
Buy everything from the Gun Gunners just outside newvages. That's the most money you can spend somewhere I'm pretty sure
Yes, I do, absolutely.
I agree, but NV was made by Obsidian.
yeah so it negated the original post of beth games getting worse.
Yeah I guess you are correct.
NO! Fuck you! TGM it is
You can finish every single questline in Oblivion on your first playthrough without getting bored; and be willing to play it again as a different character/playstyle or come back to it for a replay later provided you enjoy it
no matter how fresh the game is you cant do that in Skyrim; you will be bored after 2-3 questlines if you make it that far
I had 50 hours on release in Skyrim before I got bored
Everything about Oblivion was utter garbage except the Theives Guild and Dark brotherhood questlines.
Combat was worse
Main Story was worse
Level scaling was worse
World was worse
Oblivion gates were worse than dragons
Character customization was worse
Environment variety was worse
Loot system was worse
Dungeons were larger but they were only larger and more mazelike copy pastes at least Skyrim had the decency to make them 10mins long straight line
The only other thing I can think about Oblivion that was better was Shivering Isles and the fact that you didn't feel shoehorned into playing a certain race/class because of the story setup.
>itt: people abusing the system to take all the gold
I mean I love you new vegas bros but that's really lame. I always take just one golden bar and put it in my House.
but 4 is objectively better than 3 in every aspect
even the watered down 4 choice dialogue is better than the complete failure that is Fallout 3 dialogue and speech checks
I think he means the corpse next to the science skill book, down on the pipes. Before entering the vault, you shoot a limb off, then carry it in with you to the vault. Store all the gold in it, and carry it out.
Is it about giving up the old ways?
player.modav carryweight 999999
>cheating
>crying
Not him but it's part of the narrative for most of the DLCs: letting go of the past. You have all these relics of the pre-war era(Big MT/Divide/SierraMadre) with characters that are obsessed with the past(Dean Domino, Ulysses, Elijah, Dog/God, Christine, Graham). They cannot and will not move on for their individual reasons, the good endings all lead towards a resolution to their past. In the base game there's factions that base themselves on pre-war ideas. From what I gathered the point being made is the past needs to be let go to embrace the future, but not forgotten. Too many people in New Vegas are repeating past mistakes because they refuse to learn. The gold itself is only a small part of what they meant by letting go.
This.
I will never not be mad about how they changed Cyrodill from cool Rome with asian influences to generic lotr noteurope fantasyland #4653
F4 has no dialogue choices to begin with. F3 at least allowed questions about background and lore. Beth can't write, though, so having just one actual option may indeed be better.
does anyone know if there will be another spinoff or new vegas 2? New Vegas had so much replayability I must have played it 6 or 7 times and meme-builds were actually viable
Dialogue was golden
Atmosphere was golden
Soundtrack was golden
Minor side-quests were golden
The Mages guild questline was actually pretty good once you got past the entry recommendations
The Arena was great
Skyrim Level Scaling isn't better; it just has stealth archery as an easy answer to beating the curve without crafting skills
Character customization is a purely roleplaying feature and seeing as Skyrim isn't an RPG it's difficult to claim this is in its favor
Loot system was the same more or less but without gear restrictions on bandits
Main Questline was exactly the same level of boring as Skyrim; Story was at least less boring than the whole generic fantasy dragon shit
listing 10min long straight line as a pro of Skyrim dungeons is a great way of showing how much of a babby you are
I hope so, but I think chances are really slim.
>Combat was worse
skyrim's combat had major problems, they're about the same imo. both had stuff that was completely broken and stuff that was completely useless.
>Main Story was worse
skyrim's main story was hot garbage. oblivion's had its good and bad. oblivion also had shivering isles.
>World was worse
skyrim had absolutely no variety in the overworld and every dungeon was the exact same linear path to the end with a shortcut back to the beginning with exactly one exception to this rule. oblivion's world had variety and the dungeons weren't all identical. also, there was more interesting shit to explore.
>Oblivion gates were worse than dragons
agree
>Character customization was worse
if you mean like cosmetic shit, then i don't care. if you mean character builds and stuff like the magic system, you're insane if you actually believe this.
>Environment variety was worse
yeah, between snowy forest hill and yet another snowy forest hill, it's easy to get lost in the fantastic variety. and if you get sick of that, you can go into linear draugr dungeon with path back to the beginning.
>Loot system was worse
in what way
>Dungeons were larger but they were only larger and more mazelike copy pastes at least Skyrim had the decency to make them 10mins long straight line
except they weren't copy-pasted and there were several that stood out, like the main story one, the mage's guild one, the theives guild one, etc. that's off the top of my head. there's exactly one unique dungeon in skyrim.
bed
Nope, I bugged the game and got it.
Loved the DLC message thought.
>there's exactly one unique dungeon in skyrim.
it's so jarring to see that one actually good dungeon in skyrim for the first time that it actually broke my suspense of disbelief. i seriously said "is this the same game? did they spend all their dungeon budget here and then assign the rest of them to an intern?" every single other dungeon in skyrim is pure garbage.
Fuck off, Todd
what dungeon
