Lost Saves Stories

just lost a 10 hour~ save file on dust an elysian tail for the second time. i barely have 1 hour to play every day, so this really, really, really sucks

please tell me about that game you never finished because the save fucked you up mercilessly

Cloud storage master race

Sweet rare pepe

>dust an elysian tail
The only game I've finished this year, but I've bought at least 15+ games on steam. Fuck.

played gears 3 working hard for the seriously achievement about 60% of the way through. game fucks up and resets all my stats have to start over.

i picked up because i thought it was gonna be a quick ride... oh lord, how wrong i was (it's been months since i started it, too).

My gamecube memory card got stolen not long after I beat F-Zero GX's story mode on very hard and finished at least one cup on master with every character. I was pissed off.

Kill yourself, redditor.

After I did all of the side quests on both playthroughs, my Borderlands save corrupted when I bought the DLC

I'm not really into playing grindfest bullshit anymore though

Lost my 20 hour save of Yakuza 3. That's the only experience I had with the series before I got rid of my ps3. Couldn't download another one. They're locked to consoles or accounts or something cause of fucking trophies.

i always lose the will to save my life

Fucking dub frogposter

Playing FFIX back in the day, my save file would become corrupt each time the first boat became available, when you can finally explore the world map for the first time. Tried three times, save files probably 20-30 hours each.
Fool me three times, shame on me. Never went back to beat it.

Got to disc three of FFVIII and had just finished disc three of FFIX. When I went to play IX the next day my entire memory card had been erased, this was over 10 years ago and I still haven't gotten around to playing them again

I chose hard mode because I wanted a challenge and now I'm stuck on the bike chase in kazakhstan because of artificial difficulty and bad vehicle physics.

>Final Fantasy 10.
>Friend comes over and wants to show me his save.
>Sticks his mem card in slot 2
>shows off his save
>right before he quits, goes to save
>In less than 1 second, reflexively saves on card 1 slot 1, right over my save file
>He looks at me horrified
>"KYLE WHAT THE FUCK, MAN!?!"

I've started this game at least 5 times. On PS2 briefly, then on my old PC which I upgraded and kinda forgot about the game, then PS3 in turbulent time for me, then I've installed it on my PC again just in time for OS re-installation. I forgot to backup saves and it didn't has cloud at the time.

I got you all beat

>PS3 dies
>"no problem i got my PS Plus!"
>buy new PS3
>turns out only new saves since buying PS+ were uploaded
>lose 95% of my data
>swapping HDD wont work

Fucking Sony

>have a very well into save file for Animal Crossing Wild World
>all great villagers
>house is almost finished
>rare furniture
>finally upgraded nooks store
>Suddenly my little brother who cannot read apparently took the game and tried to play
>deleted my save file
I was so pissed
I guess it is not as bad as having your sister sell your game though when you lent it to her.

>sister buys Harvest Moon DS
>she can't figure out how to do anything so she has me play it for her, like always
>it's the my first harvest moon so I get really into it
>sister only plays the game for a bit once in a while to see what I did before she loses interest
>this circle continues for a while
>one day she brings her friend over and they decide to play Harvest Moon
>gets bored after ten minutes
>turns off the DS while the game was still saving
>save is lost
I know the game belonged to her, but this was fustrating enough to make me drop it even when she asked me to play it for her again.

>Playing Harvest Moon a Wonderful Life
>Several years in, wife and kid, rolling in a little spare dough thanks Ruby spice glitch
>Baby brother, maybe 3 years old at the time.
>Accidentally turns off the console mid save
>Data corruption

Alternately:
>Playing Zelda 2 a few years ago
>Same baby bro bumps the console on accident
>Game freezes
>Restart NES
>Data that was lost from years ago reappears in their proper slots

ITT: problems of consolefags

Enjoy your uneditable, overwriting single slot. I never got a save loss I couldn't recover from with trainers, hex editors and other Internet resources.

>tfw lost my 300 hour save for Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
>stopped playing it

Do I even need to say it?
Hell, does anyone else even have to say it?

>level 150~ on dragon's dogma
>download patch
>save file corrupted
>haven't played it since
Thanks capcom

>have original Mew given at Toys R Us event back in 1999
>go check my cart many years later
>NEW GAME

FML

I lost my save on the Luranits dump of Moon. I used a jank save editior to create a backup, and it got corrupted. Had to play through the game again on a legit copy

>tfw used unlocked the doors in the wrong order in Ocarina of Time's water temple and had to reset the game
