Civilization 6

Still haven't gotten this because Sup Forums said the AI is game-breaking.

Did I make the right decision?

No, it's fun. Always do the opposite of what Sup Forums says.

The AI acts the same way it does in every civ game, they hate you and everything you do and if they pretend to be your friend they are lying.

But Civ is for playing against other people anyway so it should be a non issue

I've put over 200 hours into civ V and fucking loved every second

I spent 40 Brit bucks on this game, played it for 6 hours and I haven't touched it since

And I have no motivation to at all, it feels so fucking bland and dull, I hate the UI, I hate the smart phone graphics and I hate the tone.

Which is a real shame because there's been a load of positive additions made to the gameplay

JoJo reference?

Wait for expansion/s.

The AI is no worse than V's. People who say otherwise are memeing.

Still you should wait until the first expansion so all the actual faults are ironed out.

No, the AI is really fucking bad with the agendas. People hate you for the most arbitrary reasons ever.

OP, you should wait a few years for patches and expansions, I mean, comparing vanilla V to BNW V there is a stark difference.

>stale memes

It feels more like a cheap board game than a complex empire building game. There are cool additions but fuck, I just can't care any more. AI forces you to play military heavy games.

I didn't like that there's little reason not to go wide anymore, in V it was a big choice, here you are deliberately sabotaging yourself by playing wide.

It was my first Civ game, I've put in, as of last night, 110 hours into it. I'm loving it to bits. They've made strides to fix the AI, but of course it will never be perfect.

Highly recommend. Districts are super fun.

AI has been super bad in all Civ games. But for some reason it feels particularly bad in Civ6. I'd say wait for a price drop OP, it's still fun higher difficulties

>by playing wide
*by playing tall

bad post

Sup Forums generally recommends this game as the best vanilla civ yet, but cautions users without a lot of money to potentially wait until next summer sale

>I didn't like that there's little reason not to go wide anymore

Having 4-city empires be the optimal build was the worst part of V.

It's far better than CivV, and that's without expansions. The city districts are great as you have to put more thought into your city location and plan ahead. The policy and governments thing is far better than having just science as it adds more depth and possibilities as you play with the different bonuses the policy cards give you. Certain areas need work although they're already trying to balance and fix things, like the production cost of wonders and science projects in the late game.

Hey Sup Forums

Since everyone in this thread seem like eloquent educated enthusiasts of Civ games, I tried playing either Civ V or VI I forget for a few minutes after playing Civ Revolution on console and I fucking hated it. It seemed like a big convoluted mess. I just want to slap together an empire and eradicate Ghandi. Should I have spent more time playing it and grow to love it?

Yes

Civ games have a steep learning curve and there's nothing you can do about it.

Civ Revolution is the literally gaming laptop of vidya

Civ VI was my first Civ game. The most experience I had before that was just watching my brother play Civ Revolution.

You really, really just have to sit down for 2 or 3 hours and get lost in it. Go through the paces of the tutorial if you need to, but don't spend all day there if you just want to get some action.

You have to be patient and just learn. That can turn a lot of people off.

The point of Civ is planning your empire long-term. If you don't enjoy that and just want to kill the AIs you should play something else.

whoops

Why not pirate it and just try it out?

It's not the question of it being tall not being optimal, it's the fact that it's not even viable.

Testing something.

That's alright, old boy, I'll play enough for the both of us.

is that in minutes?

It's a really good game but certain aspects of it tend to raise an eyebrow. It's easy to ignore most of these things though.

Hours. We can each have 90 and call it even.

Depends on your playstyle.

Vicky, Trajan and Oingo rarelly hate you.

And you think V is a complex empire building game?
Are you fucking kidding me?

Everyone just ends up denouncing everyone else. The diplomacy is more like Total War than Civ.

Civ VI has a lot of neat new features that are ruined by the fucktarded AI

It cost me 50 Queen Elizabeths. How'd you get it for 40 you jammy git?

>what is every civ on release.jpg

definitely not.

Sometimes I'm too tired to play shit like CK2 but want something with micromanagement, civ v was good at that

Oh I get it

Because he's getting crushed by a rock

And there's a stream coming out of his body

a bloody stream

It's Civ 5 but more expensive and less content.
The game is decent but I would never spend more than 15 bong for it
