why did they feel the need to roadblock you at every turn in later Zelda? I like LA but it set so many wrong trends in Zelda.

why did maps or just vidya in general feel so massive as a kid? look how small lightworld in a link to the past really is, but when I think back I remember it as HUGE. I spent probably an entire year or more playing it

I love RO so much. I wish the spin-offs they've realeased weren't so bad.
Imagine if they'd done a good hunting game instead of Oddyssey. Or a souls-like exploring all of Midgar. I just wish it hadn't gone to shit, and that every MMO wasn't a clone of WoW. Tree of Savior is shit too, so it sucks.

This brings me back... Too bad the game is shit now.
the size of a game map comes from the time it takes to move through.
a huge map with lots of connections and a fast-moving player won't really feel that huge.
a tiny maze that forces you to stop and solve puzzles every second left turn feels massive.
I really wish the little islands in the sea were somehow marked in the map.

I know, you can get a glimpse of the island's silhouette but still. I went to every corner of the game map just because I thought there was an island there like the one you mentioned. And there are also other islands which you can only see if you go to another nearby island, kinda like a trail.
