Tidus

Tidus is a much better name in both sound and tying in to the water theme.

Teedus is best for wallpapers

Tit-Ass

>mexicans on Sup Forums

>homosexuals on Sup Forums

It's Tee-dus, but I call him Tie-dus because Tee-dus sounds stupid. I'm always gonna pronounce Tidus' name that way and no one will tell me different.

>all characters look like Asians in the cutscenes
What did they mean by this?

It's pronounced 'little shit'

Not that I'm complaining, but what is with all the FFX threads lately?

It's a jap game, m8

Auron looks Caucasian, was he just a weeaboo?

But they only look asian in the cutscene

FFXV has the same issue. The characters are white in the game and asian in the cutscenes

I HATE YOU DAD

YOU CAN'T DO IT KID

I'M THE BEST

>tying in to the water theme

you mean the sun theme.

I HATE YOU

it's Teedus

I don't think the Japanese pronunciations are definitive

Zidane is Jih-tahn for instance. Yeeh. I don't care if I'm wrong, I'm not pronouncing it that way.

They (As in everyone besides Auron and the Furry) look like south korean post ops

Even Japs aren't that ugly.

"Jih-tahn" ? "Shittan" ?

Who the fuck says Tee-dus or Tie-dus? Gotta go with Tid-iss, tid rhymes with lid.

It is Tee-dus (JAT, the VA, confirmed it). Although Tie-dus sounds so much more better to me.

canonically it's teedus since his japanese name is tiida, meaning sun. however it's odd that the localization team chose the long E sound for his name and then used U sound like in julius, augustus etc. i guess they thought tiida sounded too feminine

Tie-dus.

People who say Tee-dus have something wrong in their brains and should be neutered.

/thread.

They say Tee-dus in Kingdom Hearts. And the Japanese voice actor confirmed the pronunciation.

Dont care. It sounds absolutely mental.

Umm isnt it pronounce tih-dooz?

They say both in kingdom hearts actually

Teddy-Who's

>tedious

HA!

Tide-us. Always will be. Same for Aeris instead of Aerith.

Blame localization, but that's how this shit goes.

Tieh-Duseh

Ha,lol
ah you mean water.

The fact that the official pronunciation is tee-dus really hurts my soul

Tight ass

Yuna says the name Tee-dus multiple times in Dissidia. Problem solved.

>Tide-us. Always will be. Same for Aeris instead of Aerith

But both are wrong and will forever be wrong.

^This.

ZE-DANE or ZE-DAWN?

Just fucking with you, official localization is pronounced ZE-DAWN. Play Dissidia.

Fire 1,2,3 or Fire, Fira, Firaga?

>cloud
or
>see-low-ud

Never solved.

>>see-low-ud
What the actual fuck

What do you think?

ティーダ (Tida)

Stupid gaijin always change the character name wwww

>official localization is pronounced ZE-DAWN.
You can't just make up a name and say "you have to pronounce it this way, forget how it's spelled"

Fucking Japs.

kingdom hearts and dissidia both give the pronunciation as tee-dus

>wrong
or
>correct

Hmmm, I don't know...

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

tee-dus if you're a retarded weeaboo

tie-dus if you're an otherwise normal human being and realize there's no point calling characters by their japanese name when you're not fucking speaking japanese

it's like calling Goku "Gokouu" and Krillin "Kuririn"

>/threading your own post

>tie-dus if you're an otherwise normal human being and realize there's no point calling characters by their japanese name when you're not fucking speaking japanese
You realize the reason his name is canonically pronounced Teedus is because the original Japanese trailer had an American narrator, speaking English, who pronounced it that way? That's the only reason.

I DONT FUCKING CARE
ITS TIDE LIKE WATER
ILL KILL YOU

I say Teedus and I think Teedus sounds better.
Come get me, big boy.

kingdom hearts was a fucking mistake

BACKTRACING RIGHT NOW

Teedus.

Let it sink into your mind.

Do you see bright lights?

Or do you imagine total darkness?

Teeeeeeeeeedus.

Teedus.

Zye Dyne

>HEART ATTACK

why can't american spell anything right

Why can't Eurocuck poodoo deesah shlong dey crispa keelee dooka?

were people back then as butthurt as people now about FFX not being exactly like the initial trailers?

youtube.com/watch?v=72vckLXI7x4

its tie dus you fucking weebs

>entire thread full of idiots thinking they're special or unique for pronouncing it the way THEY think it should be pronounced, rather than what's canon

>Zidane is a made up name
Lol what, nigger? It's usually a last name but it's not made up and it's simply pronounced ZE-DAWN

>you have to pronounce it this way, forget how it's spelled
You are legitimately retarded if you think that there's any kind of consistency between spelling and pronuncikation in English. Never mind the fact that other languages have completely different pronunciation systems.

>mfw I realize that his name isn't said the entire game

It is Tee-dus but I call him Tie-us because I only discovered afterwards that I was wrong in thinking that.

Well yeah
You name him at the beginning

Please don't thread your own post, for your sake as much as mine m8

the japs say ティーダ so it's teedus

His name is tie dus because it sounds like tide

Alright ijfeorij (pronounced "faggot")

2 games actually
He gets referenced a lot in X-2 but's always "he" or "him"

>name character
>shitdick
>"hey Tidus" "how's it going Tidus?" "oh Tidus!"

Only if it's Tidus, like the TV show.
Ject as Tidus dad works perfect, but who is Dave? Wakka?

And desktop threads.

And in Japanese they pronounce Terra as Tina.
Doesn't make it right.

Ditto on the shitty Aerith garbage they've been pushing the last decade.

Anytime someone asks me about his name, I just strategically word my sentence to avoid it.
>"Hey, what was the name of the protagonist from FFX?"
>Me: "You mean... him?"
>"Huh?"
>Me: "The star player of the Zanarkand Abes."
>"Yeah, what was his name?"
>Me: "Ah, Jecht's son."
>"I'm going to go now..."

Never realized whats the fucking point of naming your characters when they have an official name anyway

Its not like that adds immersion, its just a name.
