I dropped $45 on this game. When the fuck does it start to get fun?
Final Fantasy XV
it doesn't.
>he fell for the Final Fantasy meme
when you hit uninstall
When you refund it.
I bought it digitally during the Xbox winter sale.
>Xbox
It just keeps getting worse.
>getting 15
>xbox to boot
hah!
At the start.
since you bought it on xbox then never
ps4 has better combat, loading and resolution
About 15 minutes in when you're dumped into an open world with a ton of shit to explore and kill.
If that isn't fun to you why did you buy the game? I'm level 31 on Chapter 2 and I have 16 hours into the game.
How far are you into the game?
The more powerful you get, the better the game is.
There's also NG+
What's the difference with ps4 combat?
I pain $90 US, and the fun started when I hit New Game. If by then you're not having fun, then you're the cancer of this generation.\/
>level 31
>chapter 2
What the fuck im level 21 and im in the beginning of chapter 3
It's better.
Its flawed user. If you don't start enjoying it soon it doesn't really get better it kinda just keeps declining. The final cut of the game in 1.5years with all the patches, bug fixes and DLC will possibly be alright.
How much did you grind?
Haven't grinded at all, I just went around and kept doing all the quests. I did kill that level 52 thing in the cave and completed that quest for the crossbow Royal Arm which gave me like 100K XP.
Level 40 chapter 5 I think. Just been doing side quests and racing chocobos. Game is comfy.
>you will never camp with your bros
>you will never feed and sleep with your chocobo
>you will never enjoy cup of noldles with bros
I dropped $100 on the game, while getting it at 11pm on launch night.
Just now reaching 20 hours while in Chapter 3.
This game isn't fun. Holding O to dash, run out of breath, watch Noctis trip over himself and repeat the cycle is fucking awful.
The combat and skills encourage learning to dodge but they made it so that the creatures and mobs give no sign of when they're about to attack. Like they wanted to be Bayonetta but forget to give enemy signal cues.
At least the boys banter is nice. Noctis and Prompto being snarky towards each other is a nice highlight.
you can dash endlessly by using a buff for endless sprint, or wear the royal rainment if you have it without the jacket to sprint forever
This is why nobody takes this board seriously.
I'm level 45 in chapter 8
The game is crazy comfy though, just listening to the classic soundtracks in the Regalia and eating the food Ignis prepares after watching Prompto's selfies is enough to buy the game for me
>When the fuck does it start to get fun?
this
when you start unlocking more stuff, it becomes fun/more bearable
For me combat is everything for me. If aint having fun in combat then I just drop the game. FFXV's combat is pretty poor when comparing it to other action RPGs but it does get better somewhat when you starting unlocking the combat/teamwork tree and play around with the different weapon types
I t-thought it was funny
>The combat and skills encourage learning to dodge but they made it so that the creatures and mobs give no sign of when they're about to attack
That pisses me off too
You're attacking an enemy and all of a sudden he does a fast attack and instakills you
I wonder why they went with that decision, maybe they wanted players to study the enemy and understand when to dodge but it's still a pain in the ass
>in chapter 8
>level 47
>next story mission is level 29
>guess I'll advance the plot a bit
>three hours later I'm suddenly in chapter 13
Guys, what happened to the plot...? There's going to be more, right? I'm not at the end yet, am I? They didn't forget to put a story in this game, did they?
>You're attacking an enemy and all of a sudden he does a fast attack and instakills you
Well, thank god you can't fucking die in this game, so maybe you'll learn to dodge eventually
>maybe you'll learn to dodge eventually
You mean learn when the enemy is most likely to attack so you can hold square to auto dodge
>not blink-dodging so you recover your MP
I know it's a super-casual game, but no need to go full pleb
>Auto-dodge uses less than 10 mps every time you dodge
>There's also points that instantly replenish your MP when you warp to them
>You should blink-dodge
NOW YOU'RE ON A TRAIN
NOW GO INTO THIS MINE
NOW YOU'RE BACK ON A TRAIN
NOW ARDYN IS KILLED BY SHIVA
NOW THE TRAIN STOPS AT A RANDOM PLACE WHERE THE SOLDIERS DON'T ATTACK
NOW TALK TO HER DO THIS BECAUSE
NOW BACK ON THE TRAIN OH BTW BIGGS AND WEDGE ARE GONNA DRIVE IT XD
NOW HES ATTACKING AGAIN QUICK
OH SHIT HE SWITCHED PLACES WITH MY FRIEND
"SO MUCH FOR STICKING TOGETHER"
WE'LL WEVE ARRIVED RANDOMLY AT THIS GIANT TOWER WHICH WE MUST ENTER FOR SOME REASON
HAHA LE TAUNT THE PLAYER OVERCOM LIKE BATMAN GAME
"I WANTED YOU TO GET STRONGER TO FIGHT YOU AT YOUR FULL POWER" MEME
IM ALSO RELATED TO YOU MEME
a good ending though
Is there really no story after 13 chapters?
>so that the creatures and mobs give no sign of when they're about to attack
THIS
THIS is the fundamental problem with the combat, it has no tell, no wind up, for 99% of the enemies it's impossible to know when to dodge, and so you take blow after blow without ever being able to recover and get a good combo going, it's like the simplest part of good combat and they fucked it, so people rely on spamming techniques and just taking damage for the super power meter to fill up and then depend on that instead
It's not that there's no story, it just doesn't make any logical sense anymore. There's a lot of deus ex machinas and unexplained solutions that just start happening.
I still kinda liked the whole bittersweet ending idea, but the game is clearly really underdeveloped.
The game has 14 chapters, or at least 14 trophies for clearing the chapters, so being in chapter 13 should put me pretty close to the end. Especially considering most of those chapter quests were like fucking half an hour long.
Being told the game goes linear halfway through, I expected more intensive narrative, but nope. You just speed through empty tunnels. By the time the game goes linear, you're actually already like 3/4 through the scenario.
It's technically 15 but it doesn't really matter
>For me combat is everything for me. If aint having fun in combat then I just drop the game
This is why I dropped W3 halfway through.
Shit was boring gameplay wise and the story wasn't good enough to compensate.
It sort of makes sense, but all the explanations are hidden in little notes and bits of gossip here and there. If you don't listen to the radio or check every newspaper lying on the floor, everything will look fucking random. I don't know, do they love Dark Souls this much or what? They just can't show anything on screen anymore, it's all hidden in data logs and item descriptions. I really want to go to SE office and kick somebody in the face. They had better fix the game with patches and DLCs like they promised.
>When the fuck does it start to get fun?
When you return game to shop and go online to read all these salty posts of people who wait for ten years.
I'm glad you finally turned off your caps lock. I was getting worried.
