Horizon Zero Dawn - Oh No

I have been excited for this game for a long time but was just watching some gameplay footage and the playable character never shuts up.

>whoa
>c'mon c'mon
>what the hell was that?
>perfect day for a hunt
>this is gonna be harder than I thought
>just a couple more
>YESSS
>here we go!
>ho, someone's angry

and so on and so forth ad nausium. That could get annoying real quick. And they've let few real details out about the game yet soo.. is Horizon Zero Dawn gonna suck Sup Forums?

"character developement"

their commenting once in a while is okay for the sake of giving her some characterization but this si some MCU level of non stop quipping.

The talking is for the e3 stuff, I played a bit at a convention a couple of months ago and I didn't hear her say a thing

It looks like literally far cry to me. Am i wrong?

what makes you think the version you played is a more complete build than the ones we've been shown through official releases?

We don't know, it could be like Farcry, but there's dialogue wheels like Mass Effect and a heavy emphasis on monster hunting like well Monster Hunter. They haven't explicitly told us much so we don't know and it was delayed from its original autumn 2016 release which is.. concerning.

They did a whole thing on game informer

gameinformer.com/p/horizon.aspx

>game informer
thank you for the link but tl;dr right now for the sake of the thread, can you give us the gist of what it says?

I'm cautiously optimistic but nothing more. The fight in the village where she had to dodge and use all sorts of shit to take that one robot out looked like it was fun but the character never shuts the fuck up and I'm wondering just how much of the game will be you getting to fight giant robots in largely unscripted battles and how much of it will be rigidly controlled for the sake of a plot that you know is going to have some shitty twist halfway through like the robots are good guys all along or how we were destroying the environment and that's why the robots rebelled or some shit.

I can't give you the “gist” because there's so much, just posting it because you want to know more about the game and there's a lot of info there

>the robots are good guys all along or how we were destroying the environment and that's why the robots rebelled or some shit
ha, I'm so screen capping this for later because I'll bet you are so right.

I'll get it because it's a PS exclusive, but it will likely be mediocre at best like the other exclusives

>there are people on Sup Forums who STILL doesnt realize the demos showings had more dialogue for the purpose of the demo only

Yeah, the question then becomes if it's worth getting at launch of which no game this generation aside from Bloodborne has been or whether to wait until it's dropped by 40 bucks in a year.

>unscripted
user, I...

That's just it, we can't trust demos anymore because it's all such carefully choreographed segments as opposed to the actual moment to moment gameplay where you can hopefully (but only hopefully if the actual game mechanics are fun) just go out to hunt and grind for better equipment

>Sliding down that rope.
>With her bare hands.

JESUS CHRIST.

I wish she wasn't ugly as fuck.

WOMEN CAN DO ANYTHING THEY PUT THEIR MIND TO YOU SHITLORD

Looked like most everything was one shot with a bow or that spear. The storyline big baddies they showed had separate mechanics but who knows how many of those there are. If they require separate items like the concussion arrows they mentioned theres small hope those can be used on a lot of different enemies with varying results

well I mean she's close to Amy Schumer levels of ugly but she got to be in a videogame

I'm worried about fighting Robots.

They tend to be bullet-spongy. Far Cry is just, you know, shoot them in the head. Shoot everyone in the head. Shoot robots in the head? No, it usually doesn't work that way.

>ugly as fuck

kill yourself.

if one is good enough then I hope one can defeat any enemy from the get go otherwise the character can be leveled up by defeating smaller enemies to craft better armor & weapons.

looks fine to me

It's going to be like uncharted. She's not going to keep talking like in the "demos". I'm pretty sure the dialog will be perfectly fine in the final game...... Unless you think Nathan Drake talks too much as well?

robots have glowing red weak points

They looked to have obvious glowing red weakspots that are probably just referenced as a reactor or something. The first big boss had its armor blown off by the concussion arrow to reveal it

> Unless you think Nathan Drake talks too much as well?
He does though.

why do robots give themselves weak points
don't they realize it's bad

Don't don't bother with the game then. Problem solved.
I'm getting a pro next year once these games start rolling out.

That's what I'm saying. If there's a bunch of fights against tough robots where you really do have to drop all sorts of crazy traps and shit and it's not just you doing some QTE or something then I think it'll be kind of fun.

But really the whole game looks like it's been made for the maximum amount of modern appeal, i.e.: blowhard hamfisted story, linear as fuck sequences, checklist of boring bullshit for the open world, and no difficulty whatsoever.

Im kind of skeptical how much free reign we will have in combat seeing how much new weapons and upgrades you have to get to the bow/spear. Wondering if you will always have to rely on these and the traps are just superficial

doesnt bother me in the slightest.

You would have to be an idiot to not have noticed this in the very first clip they put out with her talking like the annoying slut she is.

They can't help it anymore than you can help that you were born with dangling pube covered weak points, just like your testicles the weak points are probably heat sinks for cooling purposes or something.

She is quite literally ugly as fuck. The fattest female MC in gaming.

Fat Princess

...

2b is fatter

You don't play as the princess retard.

Loving every laugh.

Playstation Allstars Battle Royale

doesn't have a main character.

Look at that tummy and tell me that's fat

>procedural generation
>robot dinosaurs
>guerrilla games

take a guess

I'd imagine all the voice acting isn't finished yet

It would have been finished ages ago, especially now that Ashly Burch is on strike

those all sound good to me

then you should head back to /r/gaming

c'mon you're not so dead inside that the words "robot dinosaurs" doesn't sound at least a little fun to you, are you?

not him but "24fps in favor of muh graphics" turns me right off of it.

fedora: the setting

What's so fedora about that?

they've already CONFIRMED the two hole flapping her jaw is only for E3 purposes
how many times must you niglets be told?

>they
who's they and why should I believe them over the dozens of other game announcements which never come to fruition?

beautiful game and I love her but jiggle in the 4k vid

>procedural generation
literally lying
holy fuck you are pathetic friend

back in the days, you could just go in the option menue an turn it off..

Here we go

how would you see ass jiggle underneath all that?

explain

>Jaap van Muijden from Guerrilla Games will describe the GPU based procedural placement system that dynamically creates the world of ‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’ around the player. Not limited to just rocks and trees, the procedural system assembles fully-fledged environments while the player walks through them, complete with sounds, effects, wildlife and game-play elements. He will show the entire pipeline, from the graph editor where artists can define the procedural placement rules to the GPU algorithms that create a dense world around the player on the fly. He will demonstrate the power of this procedural approach by showing how painting in a tree line and redirecting roads can be just as easy as moving mountains and changing a desert into a tropical swamp.

They have bikini armor you can unlock

good thing Sony would never be culpable with the lies of a developer to try and get a few sucker sales before word of mouth spreads amirite?

You don't even understand what you are quoting.
Are you honestly stupid enough to imply that a open world game with a STATIC WORLD map that has been shown numerous times and a quest based design that depends on things being in certain places equals a procedurally generated game? Do you have idea what a pipeline is? All they are doing is talking about a GPU technique that they have created with their tools, not that the game itself has a procedurally generated world you fucking idiot.

My intuition is that it's just a meme to post that quote, but from reading it does seem like it's just a tool for the artists/level designers to procedurally generate a level in-engine to allow for speedy map creation instead of hand placing every tree and rock. I'm interested to see if there's an in-depth article in the works about it.

It's definitely a meme to imply that Horizon has a fully procedurally generated world when it is a fact that it doesn't. And if that user had any clue about game design he/she would know that it is being used for exactly as you said.
>it's just a tool for the artists/level designers to procedurally generate a level in-engine to allow for speedy map creation instead of hand placing every tree and rock.

so you agree that it does, in fact, use procedural generation?

Other user, but I'm arguing that the "procedural generation" is done in the development phase as part of a tool and not during runtime.

t. amateur game developer

Maybe if I wasn't forced to play as a fedora caveman / low IQ African warrior without the lazers and neoned power-armor that clearly is needed to fight the robosaur menace.

>without the lazers and neoned power-armor that clearly is needed to fight the robosaur menace.

I don't know man, robots are made out of metal and shit, that's pretty tough stuff. I wouldn't recommend punching one

The game is basically "what if cave-niggers in the jungle defeated an alien invasion wiith sticks and stones?"

There are no aliens

I really look forward to Automata doing really well and this bombing.

Ubishit and clones need to die.

Weeb, please.

Guaranteed neither of those things will happen.

nothing about this game is Ubishit idiot

>weeb
>Platinum action game
Ok. Enjoy Far Cry Primal Robot edition.

It will suck

You must have your head so far up your ass if you think Nier Automata will do better than this

guerrilla games made this game, you are making a real bad argument.

horizon looks good

Nigger detected

the robots are clearly not made by the "present" humans of that world, at best they are "ancient" and thus they might as well come from another eorld entirely, since the savages in this game seem to think they are too good to use metal to build houses or factories or cars or roads or anything useful really, so again, they might as well be wordless niggers eating each other in the jungle and defeating the US military with voodoo curses and the evil eye. This whole concept is hare-brained as fuck but this dev seems obsessed with bad ideas. I look forward to this game being outsold 3:1 by Days Gone.

and she's butt ugly... why the fuck would you make an ugly female protagonist

you can't fap to that or waifu it

>nothing about this game is Ubishit
What?

how is she ugly

Look, the shill is replying to the same post twice.

Not him but it's completely possible. It won't flop however.

pieces of shit like you deserve to die
the people making this game are actually making a fun game about killing robot dinosaurs in a gorgeuous open world and you wish for it to fail, i wish you would lose your job too cunt

i will be buying both this and nier automata bot day one and I hope your sorry ass will one day grow up and do the same

she's cute

CUTE!

I have inside knowledge of the story of Horizon, but I won't spoil.

It's not just farcry robot dinosaurs............it may share some hunting type gameplay but so do 10k other games

It's not going to do AC or WD numbers, so, I'm not sure how you could co sider this game a success? MAYBE Mad Max numbers?

well not die but you deserve to be slapped

This seems like a pretty cut-and-dry case of vertical slice tactics that Ubisoft loves to use. Basically, show off a demo of the game that is very deliberately choreographed to get people excited, and then don't show or tell anything else at all, and ultimately release a disappointing product sold purely on false hope. The red flags are there, don't cry to me when you end up wasting your money.

only one of those was me, dumb fuck I didn't post the anime pic

why do retards like you keep up this Ubisoft shit

>horizon looks good
So we'll add another to the list of games that tricked idiots with bullshot graphics.
>Watch Dogs
>No Man's Sky
>Horizon

Theymade the concept as unappealing as possible withoverbearing femalelead andforced "low-tech" approach. It's not going to do "well", I'm thinking this will be like Heavenly Sword, but maybenot as bad as Haze or Lair.

muh stronk, independent, square jaw womyn

Why do you have hundreds of (you) images and respond to every form of criticism about this game in every thread?
