I refuse to believe Uncharted 4 can exist on the ps4

I just can't accept it. This game is too beautiful.

After spending 2000 dollars and a month building and fine tuning my gaming rig, I cannot fathom how a $200 hardware is capable of achieving graphics that surpass anything I can play on my gaming PC.

I refuse to believe this game is real.

It would look bettet on PC. Shame that naughty dog is stuck making broken down shitty versions of games.

How can the game be real if it looks better than real?

Its scripted to hell and linear as fuck.

Not hard to nice gfx with that just at doom. Closed small linear ares, no shit ut runs good and looks good.

The Division on the other hand is a fucking miracle it runs on consoles with all that technology under the hood while also being detailed as hell.

>game

How is being linear a bad thing in a game like uncharted? It's not trying to be an open world game or anything. it's very story driven.

Shit bait, shit thread, have a (You)

>Artificial graphics

I didnt say its a bad thing.

But linear games are easier to optimize.

For example people shit on AC Unity but that game had to be optimized with almost UC4 tier graphics, open world map with hundreds of AI.

UC4 is a joke compared to that and easily doable because its just textures and polygons and some nice lod in the distance occasionally.

Technology wise like physics and other shit, its pure garbage.

ND is good at optimizing.
PC game port developers are hackjobs who need nVidia helping them with Gimpworks.
Getting this fidelity out of an $200 box is a technological achievement.
Getting 144 fps out of a another multiplat console port while throwing $2000+ at it is not.

>I cannot fathom how a $200 hardware is capable of achieving graphics that surpass anything I can play on my gaming PC.

I think Uncharted 4 is great and looks amazing for what it is, but you're not trying very hard if can't find anything that looks better than on PC.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Witcher 3

Let's not even mention the mod community.

Sonyponies really need to step up their shitposting.

It's neither funny nor subtle. Just plain fucking stupid.

Atleast exagerate the shit out of it.
Like this
>I spend 19.999 dollars on carbonated glas fibre CPU atom transistors with 9 ghz per tP and 64GB opporational ram - overclocked to 256 Terahertz on a 80 megpipe - two Nvidia GTX RX 480 with 4 HDMI direct lan connections operating on Linux directly copied from the NASA HQ - using a 200mb hardrive with a Gen 33 S-SSD spinning at 90k rpm - fine tuned over the last 18 months using the apple genius bar and EA online support
>And the PS4 STILL DOES BETTER goldface.jpg

>Big textures and high polygon count with 0 technology behind is a technological achievement

Wow
Then PC have a huge library of technological achievements just run any UE4 tech demo

I tried to get my game to look like pic related with my quad SLI Titan setup but it only looks half as good, and running at 10 - 25fps. What do?

Shit bait, shit thread, here's your ...............

>Then PC have a huge library of technological achievements just run any UE4 tech demo
On this?

>just run any UE4 tech demo
>tech demo
See? PC has no great looking video games with small hardware requirements..
Only ugly toaster fodder.

>Getting this fidelity out of an $200 box is a technological achievement.
So this is what kids these days believe huh. I would say that ND just do some optimizing to their games, and it only looks good in comparison to other devs who are just hacks that can't code for shit. Back in my day optimization actually meant something and hardware capacity limit was the best motivation. Now it's just like everything else: supply dictates demand.

>Os
>Monitor

Yeah noe that you mention it UC4 looks like shit for $4400.

-$400 ps4
-$4000 TV

>Tfw pc gaming costs 1/4 of consoles

What PC gamers fail to understand is that the PS4 is 2013 hardware. If you're going to compare it to a PC, you have to use 2013 components.

Sure, a GTX 1080 can outperform a PS4. But the GTX 1080 didn't exist three years ago, when the PS4 came out. By any reasonable metric, consoles are cheaper and more powerful than PC.

Don't be disingenuous, you idiot. No one buys a television. PC gamers have to buy monitors.

I think it is usually unfair to compare games by screenshots. U4 looks awesome but cheats everywhere it can. There is no split screen and the game holds your hands for most of the time.

If you look at a technological point of view, there couldn't be more good looking games than sandbox games where tons of things can happen any time.

It is relatively easy to make a rollercoaster game no matter how good it looks.

What consolefags fail to realize is that PC usere aim for highest setting at least at 1080p60fps

While consolefags are fine with 160x90 @ 20fps

Yeah and not only that, it also outperforms the PS4

Honestly for $400 this is pretty shit, but i guess you guys have to settle for your small paychecks.

You joke, but 160x90 is actually not unplayable. If this was the fidelity of current-gen consoles, I would be okay with it.

Here's Doom 2016 downscaled to 160x90. Note that it still looks much better than the original Doom on PC.

See how good the PS4 is running Windows 10 + game

Nice shill thread.

Why Uncharted 4, of all games? Did people get tired of shitposting about Bloodborne? Why don't they shitpost about FFXV or WoFF, both of which look better than UC4?

Except digital foundry considered it a technical masterpiece.

That's not shitposting anymore because it's obvious that you're just joking.

The OP is at a more subtle level of exaggeration that some people might actually fall for.

At least PC can run the original doom.

why spend money on video games and consoles when u can just go buy a 4K Sony Bluray Player or and Xbox One Slim and watch 4K Planet Earth?

Yeah you see there is a difference between technical and technological

>Here's Doom 2016 downscaled to 160x90

Nope

>consolekids cant even downscale an image

Topkek

>consoles are cheaper
true
>more powerful than PC
Unlike it's predecessors, the ps4 was already outdated compared to pc hardware when it released, it has the equivalent of a 7870 or something like that. The 1080 wasn't there but there were already way more powerful gpus on the market by the time the console came out.

Ignore this retard, people. He has no fucking idea what he's talking about.

>linear as fuck
wtf I love Uncharted now

And now Digital Foundry is making videos about nothing but the Pro. Money talks, and Sony is the biggest player in buying people out.

no way bro

I'm starting to think Nvidia paid for that bug to be in BF1, where the dynamic res would randomly scale back to ant video. And yes, it was a bug, and I say 'was' because it was patched out like a month ago. Dynamic res is actually an enticing feature, imo, and low-end PCs could benefit from the tech. But because some dork at DICE forgot to put a minimum res on the thing, this joke is going to be run into the ground like pic related, which is equally retarded.

Oh this game? Yeah, completed it mate. I've moved on now...

>linear
Yeah, it's an adventure game
>Closed small linear areas
Yeah try Madagascar, an the Islands areas.
>The Division
HA, me and my friends couldn't even play division on day one because they couldn't figure out how multiple people could use one computer terminal.

We were queuing in a game to play a game.
Then when we got in we were constantly falling through the floor, and seeing enemies inside walls.

god damn this game aged poorly, it already looks dated

I think naughty dog themself said part of the reason they were able to do it on the PS4 is because they don't have to optimize it for multiple different set ups and can just stick with the PS4 hardware.

...

naughty dog is owned by sony, they'll say anything to make the companies seem better than they are.

uc4 had a high budget but it's unimpressive compared to modern ultiplat titles.

the Uncharted series is a great series. The game looks great but the texture are not that great.

lol it's not "scripted to hell" nice to see ou haven't played it though.

Screenshot I took a while ago

is that tiny room supposed to be impressive or

>Going all out on graphics on a tiny ass room
>"This is the power of pisspoor4! :^)"

They are always picking on the monitor forgetting, that you can pair this exact monitor with a console too.
And an operating system is included with every console.

Looks like the filename was right.

See that mountain?

You can walk there.

how old was she?

why would I want to walk to a mountain?

...

>naughty dog is owned by sony, they'll say anything to make the companies seem better
As a computer programmer I can tell you that that the optimization excuse is perfectly valid.

I've had to use old (and less safe and efficient) versions of certain API calls in windows because some faggot insisted it needed to run on their Windows XP laptop. Plus, the thing about hardware could definitely be true. Optimizations rely on safe assumptions - the more things you know about what is going to happen, the more chances there are to optimize.

Simple example: If you know that the program is going to read the whole file, then you can read it all from disk and stash it in the buffer ready for use, rather than letting the program move the magnetic head back to the right block EVERY time they call fgetc. I don't do anything with low-level graphics, but I'd imagine if you know the exact GPU being used you can compile the software to use opcodes that exist on that that may not exist on many other GPUs.

ironic that he's a pc fag and you're a pc fag defending digital walking simulators, I meant in a video game, dummy

I don't really get what you're saying in this post since it's late but like I said uc4 isn't impressive at all. there are probably a dozen multiplat games that are entirely more impressive visually and most of them are open world and not just linear shits.

>GAME?

Is is pretty easy to make the graphics look decent in a rail shooter.

I don't even own a TV, I just watch Netflix on the Windows 10 app.

That would have been true any other gen. The N64, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS3 were all really good hardware for the time they were released. Xbone and PS4 were kinda toasters though, based on year-old GPUs that weren't even top of the line when they were out. The PS4 is like an HD 7850/7870, which was at most $300 when it came out but after a year would have been a lot cheaper.

Honestly I'm glad the option for dynamic resolution and upscaling exists even if most people don't use it. I liked the peripheral upscaling feature in Shadow Warrior 2, it's legitimately unnoticable and massively improves performance.
