It was pretty good.
A nice 6 hours with some comfy visuals

More like Hyper Alright Drifter.

False Promises: The Game
Really wasn't worth it for what it hypes up to begin with

What did it hype up? I wasn't following the development of the game.

Art is good but is frequently misleading as to what is a platform or what is part of the background. Combat is fun. The secrets blow. Music is nothing. I didn't really like the way the dash mechanic was implemented. 7/10

I loved it. Was able to nearly 100% it and put a decent chunk of time into it.

Awesome game with great atmosphere and music. Frustrating at times, though.

good

Combat is fun, I would like more variety besides different types of guns which don't matter that much

Atmosphere is A+

Music is meh

Exploration and secrets needed more work

Art is ok

then get the fuck out

I only picked up the game at launch because I thought the design of the drifter was cool.

I liked it.

Add quiet violins and pixels to any game and you fags will eat it up

Too short

I'd play the fuck out of any DLC it drops desu

I got lost a few hours in and stopped playing. Combat was fun from what I remember.

I'm looking and it's 20 on the PS4. Worth it?

20 bucks? no. pick it up when its on sale. Its just too short.

Aw alright. I'm buzzed and thought it'd be a nice little game to get lost in but you're right. I'll wait.

Not sure if this was ever a huge selling point but the co-op was very disappointing. The world design was ok with those light up patterns all over the place but the secrets were pretty inconsistent.

Music was great in some areas and forgettable in a lot, frankly. Desert music was forgettable, and so was the forest music. The mountain and the waterway's music were great. Reusing some of the tracks didn't help it though

but it has some pretty good ones

I don't remember having much trouble with the bosses, even the final boss, other than just trial and error. Not in the good way though, like I'm learning anything new, but more like I'm throwing myself at the boss until I dodge well enough and hit hard enough that it dies before I die.

I actually liked the forest music a lot, I felt it was very appropriately moody for the environment.

The art especially in this game is really neat, pixel or not.

forgot to actually say it, but I did like this game. but like others said above, it's just too short. Needs more content, but I guess its just an indie anyway. Good game though.

god the music is just spooky and sends chills to my spine. I love it.
Peaceful but still ominous.

yeah, if we're talking atmospheric soundtracks this game fucking rocks

Didn't really care for its story though. Didn't care for the no text narrative. Didn't feel like the story had any baring on my actions or motivations other than "beat the game"

It was fun. Haven't played the new game+ yet.

Im only an hour into the game and Im pretty disappointed cause I thought the music from the original trailer was godlike

It's pretty simplistic, but I feel as if the lack of dialogue or text really works in its favor. It's unique, at least, and I liked deciphering the visual stories some of the NPCs give you. Definitely an intentionally vague game, though.

I liked it a lot

bad ending
cut content

It's ambience, dude.
bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh (sustains for five minutes) bwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhh (sustains again) dwaaaaaaaaaaaang dwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhh

yeah, but there lies the problem. I'm only hearing about what's going on to other people rather than doing anything about it
Some examples
>First bro we meet that invites us into his home, can't save him from whatever the fuck is killing people like us
>seriously what the fuck is that
>Guy in town that gets brutally mugged in an alleyway, can't take revenge or at least get back his shit from the guy that literally is in the store a couple buildings over
>can't save the rat people from the frog people, literally unable to save 1 rat person from the frogs
>what the fuck is going on there though, I'm fucking interested as hell but lol frog bad people rat good people
>constantly harassed by a giant what-ever-the-fuck-that-is monster with no explanation

shit like that. I can't really interact or change anything around me. Even if you go back to cleared areas nothing changes. The monsters are still there, no one thanks or is angered by what you did

zero player agency = automatic 5/10 or lower

The game was heralded as one of the futur super hit in the making thanks to kickstarter, and the creator got nearly €650k (which is twice the funding that Shovel Knight had) for an initial goal of 27k. The guy made mad dosh, hired disasterpeace for the soundtrack (who is the genius composer behind FEZ) .

What was released was a 5-6 hour game with a fun dash mechanic but falling short in everything. The level design isn't good, the soundtrack is meh, as the trailer song is the best part, and the game is not enjoyable to 100% it because it mostly relies on getting trinkets hidden in off screen places and sticking to the walls. The gameplay never goes beyond your expectations.

It's a 6/10. Not bad, not good, just forgetable even though its budget was twice Shovel Knight's one which is an undisputed indie gem.
