no

Visceral's will probably be good, its written by Amy Hennig.

just more lego shit

Not in the foreseeable future

Lego star wars games are actually top tier licenced video games

i dont want to play with fucking legos.

i want more games like rogue leader.

>From Soft will never make a Star Wars game

Not until EA is gone. Their greedy executive meddling will ruin every game.
In other words, maybe is the answer to your question OP but, we wont be getting a top tier Star Wars game for a long time. We need to make Star Wars games great again for that.

Bump

True

sadly no

I'm just glad I was born at the right time to enjoy all the classics when they came out.

Any new games will most likely be based off the new trilogy.

There was already one perfect Star Wars game, why would you need any more?

No. EA still has 7-6 years with its license and Disney in still in charge of it all. There will never be another good Star Wars game. Or movie. Or book. Or tv show. Or radio drama. Or comic. Maybe a decent figure here and there though.

I just pretend the franchise ended in late 2012 though. Makes things easier.

BF1 > EA Battlefront > Overrated Bantha Poodoo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BF2

I started playing through Dark Forces II earlier. It hasn't aged very well and requires quite a bit of finagling to get to work on a modern system. I know people praise the Jedi Knight series all the time, so I'm assuming Outcast and Academy are better?

Outcast better singleplayer, Academy better multiplayer

It's unlikely anything good will come from EA. With the license being owned by Disney, it's hard to say for the longer term. Kingdom Hearts has been decent, but is style over substance and a test of how many times they can successfully reuse the same stuff (which seems to be Disney's A plan anyway).

Patrician taste.

>not liking classic arcade games
you're not a gamer.

The short answer is no.

>I just pretend the franchise ended in late 2012 though
I pretend George Lucas died tragically in the late 80s and the series was never touched again. Only regarded as a great trilogy that made a misstep with Ewoks.

>le ewoks were bad maymay
>>>/reddit/

You're playing the highlight. The sequels force you into third person lightsabre combat way too often for FIRST PERSON shooters. The guns all go to shit too, even against normal opponents they're of limited use. The designers went full baka.

That would literally be the worst match up

Bump

Convince me not to buy battlefront for 13 bucks. Those graphics man

Possibly in 2024 when EA's exclusive license runs out. But probably not.

It's honestly a fun game and worth a cheap price, don't listen to fags who will tell you just to go to BF2's outdated multiplayer.

Rogue One made me want a gritty shooter. I don't care if it's generic reskinned BF.
Imperial Commando where?
Rogue Commando where?

At Star Wars didn't land in the hands of Valve. Then we would never see any Star Wars games, period.

This and the respawn one too. I'm hoping the rumors of criterion doing a rogue squadron reboot are true also

I'm optimistic about the future of star wars desu. I don't think Disney will let EA fuck it up

My favorite Star Wars games were X-Wing Alliance Alliance and Jedi Outcast 2. I don't think there will ever be any future games as good as those.

Here's one

if you actually sit down and watch the movie it doesnt look that bad at all.
the cherrypicked webms and screenshots are ridiculous.
Has Episode 2 aged? Yes. but if I sit down and watch the movie rather than meme about it online I quickly get over it because its visually consistent throughout the entire movie.

maz kanata in the new movie is ten times more jarring and visually terrible than this.

>There'll never be another Jedi Knight game
JUST

I think you're right but I also watched the blu-ray edition of the saga so I think they touched up all 6 films

I did as well, all the movies looked excellent.
Aside from some of the early CG in Episode 6. Those Jabba sail barges flying made me want to vomit

>all that fire
>all that open space
>nobody getting hit
how come accuracy is so shit in star wars

Valve isn't really interested in licensed games anyway. When they do bother to make games, they like to own all rights to them, like post-Oswald Disney.

There will be, there will be.

It will be the worst Jedi Knight game ever. Because EA.

Don't forget Dark Forces. It's arguably the most solid FPS in the series, and an ideal characterization for Kyle: ex Imperial merc and nothing more.

youtu.be/-cylix5fF2U

I really like the whole 50s scifi style of the PT

EA has the exclusive license, so the outlook is not great.

they do have one in the pipeline made by the Dead Space team and script by Amy Hennig, that one should be good,

the Lego ones will continue to be fun.

I wish EA hadn't murdered Pandemic, I'd like to have seen their Star Wars game.

Watch out for that vicious bounty hunter Boba Fett, Luke! Did I ever tell you I fought his dad? He was hired to assassinate a senator me and your father were guarding. We kept bringing her around open windows and public areas in order to draw the would-be assassin out because we knew he had too much pride to just shoot her from long range. He had used his payment to hire another bounty hunter to kill the senator for him while he sent us on a wild bantha chase. Also the 2nd assassin used her payment to buy a robot to assassinate the senator for her. Did I mention the 2nd assassin was a shapeshifter? She could have been a good friend in disguise and just shot the senator for all we knew! Then the robot used its payment to buy poisonous bugs to release into the senator's room while she slept after lasering a hole through the window. It could have just lasered her too after that because we we weren't watching her at all, but it already bought the bugs. So we sense the hostile life forms (not the robot) in the room and rush in and save the senator in the nick of time! Then I jumped out the window to chase the robot back to its owner! Luckily it didn't have a self-destruct function. Then we found the 2nd assassin and chased her across the planet, and caught her when she tried to kill us instead of shapeshifting and escaping. But to our surprise, Jango Fett was watching the whole thing instead of going to kill the senator while we were away chasing the bugs chasing the robot chasing the shapeshifter. He shot her with a poisonous dart instead of sniper blaster, and only her instead of shooting all of us or blowing all of us with a rocket or something, then he escaped with his tiny jetpack. Luckily for the senator, my good friend Dexterr Jettster owned a 50s dinner on Courscant that had Republic secrets on the menu along with cheeseburgers and malt shakes. We found the assassin and Mace Window killed him later, right in front of Boba. And he was a good friend.

Good friend posting is one of my favorites. Got any more?

Luke, did I ever tell you about the time I watched a security hologram of my former apprentice, your father, murdering younglings? I tried to tell your mother, who was formerly the democratically elected queen of an entire planet at the age of 15, that I saw it happen, but she didn't believe me despite us having been good friends for nearly five years up to that point. So she took her personal diplomatic starship to a known Separatist world to find out the truth from him, even though she had no way of knowing that he would be on that planet, and even if she did she couldn't have known where on the planet he was, and even if she did she probably should have guessed the reason that he was there in the first place alone would be to either collaborate with Separatist leaders or kill them in cold blood. Luckily, I stowed away by hiding in a space closet, and, when things seemed most hopeful for the galaxy's future when your father decided to destroy the Emperor out of love for his wife, I heroically decided to stand on the landing platform of the ship like a total badass so that he could choke her and endanger the lives of her unborn children. Oh! I almost forgot, you were there too. Anyway, I ended up having to cut off your father's remaining three organic limbs and leave him to die by immolation, even though I thought he was a swell guy up to that point and could have killed him myself to spare him the agony. Oh, and I also looted his lightsaber so that I could keep it for myself in my hermit den, but not before attending your birth, which was overseen by a large white floating robot that said "Ooba" over and over again and, despite letting your mother die even though nothing was medically wrong with her, didn't lose her space medical practitioner's license after that. She was not a good friend.

>You were there too!

My fucking sides

/thread

I like DF1 just fine, but I maintain that DF2 is the highlight, even with all it's physics problems.

>decent figure here and there

If you collect 1/6th Star Wars figures then the Hot Toys and Sideshow partnership and continued production of new figures is the best thing to happen to 1/6th in years.

If you are a poorfag like me and collect tons of 1/6th figures pics, its still good.

Look at how fucking cool this is.

I don't like how variably different it is compared to the Vanilla Stormtrooper. It's still pretty cool, but it really just doesn't match up visually.

I suppose you could argue it as being a visual evolution from clone armor, but I don't like how jarringly different it is.

My fucking sides

>there will never be another good rogue game
>there will never be another good Jedi Knight
>there will never be another good KOTOR
>there will never be another good Battlefront
feels bad man.

>there will never be a good sequel to Republic Commando

Miles better than the new Stormtrooper design in TFA

Shoretrooper resembles the Scouttrooper in look and design but the new "replacement" Stormtroopers resemble sleek, iphone minimalism and look out of place in Star Wars

And their lower leg armor makes them all look fat or stubby

apparently some of the guys behind imperial commando went on to be part of halo 5's dev team when it got scrapped

so maybe imperial commando falling through was for the best

What the FUCK were they thinking with this shit

>sev

But does she control it or is it a bunch of suits directing her on what they want?

Easy to see which ones better

I mean, it's definitely better than the Nu-Stormtrooper design, I'll admit that much.

The more I look at the Scout Trooper and this set, I start to see similarities. I may have just been jarred by the difference in color pattern at first. It looks a it like sort of marine armor to me, which is pretty neat.

Would love to see a Star Wars battle set on an ocean world with island hopping battles and naval battles. With more advanced battles than what we saw in Rogue One.

Jew Jew Abrams got fucking lazy, that's what. We could have had some Thrawn trilogy stuff, and instead we get this dumb shit.

Miles better than Nu-Stormtroopers.

...

The Death Troopers needed more screen time.

Loved their design

They were pretty cool.

Their exaggerated breathing was retarded, though. Vader wannabes.

...

why didn't the empire use deathtroopers on endor

Because they didn't exist 30 years ago.

>Star Wars battle set on an ocean world with island hopping battles and naval battles.

That would be awesome, the only thing that comes close is I guess the Rogue One DLC for EAfront.

And yeah the Shoretrooper has elements of the Scouttrooper but the hover-tank trooper in Rogue One was a useless new addittion I think just to drive toy sales and have at least one armor and helmet that looks similar to the ones the First order use in the sequel trilogy as a way to tie it all together, and as a result the Hovertank trooper looks the most out of place in the movie and its setting, with the angular helmet and all.

Useless design, they should have just had the Imperial Navy troopers we saw piloting the AT-ST in the hovertank that would make more sense.

>there will never be a Battlefront style game where the ships fly like Rogue Squadron and the jedi fight like in Jedi Outcast

What's so bad about it? I like both designs.

I hope we get a better Star Wars Battlefront after the success of Rogue One.

I think they all died on Scarif.

This feels like something a bounty hunter would wear, not an Imperial tank pilot.

At least it means one more new figure though.

Doesn't look like an improvement over original Stormtrooper armor. If anything, it looks simplified and dumbed down. Doesn't visually appear more advanced.

I will admit, it does seem out of place. Would look rad as a flametrooper design, though. Carrying a flamethrower.

The helmet, and the leg armor.

The helmet is completely retarded and tries to look menacing while ending up looking goofy instead whereas the original Stormtrooper helmet looked menacing and fit in the aesthetic of the setting, which this one doesnt with its minimalism.

Leg armor is fatter and wider and makes all their legs look stubby, theres less detail and more streamlining and minimalism it looks really out of place.

I tried to like the armor for the sake of buying a Black Series figute maybe but theres just so much wrong with it.

What do you think 1313 would have been like? I would have liked to see it..

Also, What was the point of Her?
Seriously, what the fuck?

>Also, What was the point of Her?

Look at her armor and you know exactly what she was there for.

...

Also that Black Series stormtrooper looks so fucking goofy, bad example, sasuga Hasbro.

Jew jew Abrams and Disney to make something Original, atleast the prequels has many originals ideas

Just my hot opinions

Shit taste desu

Going back through, SWTOR wasn't that bad. You basically never have to do the shitty side quests, its just like multiplayer KOTOR, to a point, but its still real fun. It'd be nice if it got some more funding, I should probably check the profit reports to see how mad I shouild be at EA but if they really put more time in and tried to make more races/stories it'd be a lot more fun. Another couple classes/subclasses would be neat too but its surprising some f2p MMO is anywhere near decent.

If EA were smart they would produce a new Jedi Knight title, and a new KOTOR-type set in a different time period than the Old Republic.

This is EA though, and combined with the sluggish status of the industry that means they will continue to squander this 10-year license on Star Wars games.
