This is a more likable main character of a Japanese video game.

This is Dante the Demon Killer.

He looks like the best friend of the main character of a japanese video game.

>redditzero

...

I never watched Re:Zero.
From what I can tell, it's like if Konosuba tried to actually be serious? Sounds like shit.

its more like dark souls the anime

It's edgy garbage, and not the buzzword kind of edgy. Edge for the sake of edge.

>if Konosuba tried to actually be serious
Have you never watched isekai before or is that your first one? I don't see how it being serious is a bad thing.

This is a Final Fantasy character.

>think its going to be how a normal guy goes through a D&D world, learning with his respawn powers and experiencing gory deaths along the way
>fucking faggot cucks himself into indentured servitude and does nothing for the rest of forever
I never thought an anime could go south so fast.

And then it gets worse.
It gets so much worse.
Anime's okay tho, I guess.

Seriously? How? I thought that them showing a fantastical fantasy world in the first chapter only for the MC to condem himself to a stupid mansion was bad enough.

He meets the best girl in all of anime, strings her along with cute dates, and then shuts her down hard because he's too infatuated with the dumb elf

Half-Elf, all shit

I was actually expecting something plot wise, not some pointless bickering over girls.

This is a cat.

Never seen this anime before. Who's the blue haired one? I think I'm in love

There still isn't any plot by that point and I don't know if there ever is because I dropped it

Fucking kill yourself. It's moeshit with "lol look at this blood and gore lmao".

Rem best girl

Calm down son, he's likely referring to how the main character dies over and over again, clawing his way through his new life trying to get to the next save point. similar to how players claw their way towards the next bonfire.

what does OP mean by this?

this. elf was utter trash

This is a Japanese counter-attack

She's best girl, that's who.

id ram a rem

Is there any news on the Re:Zero video game?

Also, for those who don't know about the OVA series:

>kee sah maah it's time to die

>start watching danmachi because I fell for the hestia meme
>same old self-insert LN trash as usual and only has cute girls as its redeeming feature
>MC gets two super hax skills that make him get powerful super fast for literally no reason other than he's the MC and girls fall in love with him after one conversation because he's just so gosh darned nice and innocent
>have this lined up next

When will it end

When hikikomori die out, ie. never.

Seemed like sufferporn to me
Not necessarily my thing unless done well, but it's an anime so I doubted it and didn't look into the series any further

Re:Zero is nothing like Konosuba, even if got serious. The contrast between both casts is like night and day.

>People STILL like Rem
Fell for the waifu bait

Watch Log Horizon instead
Its girls aren't as cute as Rem but the plot is interesting and the way the gameworld slowly morphs into a new reality is neat

the first half is pretty decent, then it goes to absolute shit near the end

Elves ruin everything.
COLOR.
ME.
SURPRISED.

>I was actually expecting something plot wise

It's yet another isekai harem series

Did you really, honestly expect anything out of the plot?

Watched it already. Well, the first season anyway.
It was slow at times but I liked how the characters just kind of accepted their life was an MMO and found ways to starts exploiting the system instead of angsting over how to get back home.

I should watch season 2.

How is Chaika?[/b] I watched the first few episodes a long time ago and it scored points because the MC didn't reek of mary sue. At least not at that point anyway.

Him picking the Half-Elf was completely fuckin obvious. You shouldn't have been surprised by that.

It's okay, since instead of doing Mary Sue act #340192391, the MC actually has to think things through every time, sometimes making rough decisions along the way.

The only bad part is that the author is forcing the MC's objective into him way too hard, the MC often does and says things that make zero fucking sense, and the plot feels generic, as do most of the princess type characters, who feel more like waifu bait. The premise of death and rebirth is what makes this anime cool, the MC does not get to fuck around and asspull.

No. that's the main character of Re:Zero

now fuck off to Sup Forums

How can someone fuck up so badly?

Chaika is fun, but I wouldn't exactly call it good. At least the characters are likable

Chaika S1 was decent. Haven't watched S2 though.

I would definitely recommend watching Re:Zero though. Probably the best isekai in anime form to date.

Of course since /reddit/ and /mal/ like it, it gets a lot of hate especially on Sup Forums. Not to say there aren't flaws but, it's definitely worth a watch to at least draw your own conclusion on the show.

Pic kinda of related. Mostly just to trigger some Sup Forums transplants though.

>Sup Forums hates crossborders
>come here anyway to post about anime
explain yourself f/a/ggots

>Re:Zero
>better than Log Horizon

Nah dude
LH is literally the only good isekai

People keep parroting this and its just plain wrong in my opinion.

The first half is just so damn good that the second half doesn't seem as great by comparison.

Its still fantastic though. Especially Willhelm's backstory and the Witch's Cult interactions.

Why is this thread still up but the Yugioh thread got moved almost immediately? Do your jobs, mods.

>good
>isekai

Sup Forums is the core Sup Forums population, every other sub-user needs to respectfully stay in its box

should this guy have crippling PTSD from being brutally murdered so many times?

He's a gormless little fag and gets over it by obsessing over the elf

So I assume you're this faggot No. The first half is good because it's all of the setup and when actually interesting and unexpected shit is happening, then after that's done it's all boring and predictable as fuck. The second half is rushed to hell.

You really must have some trash taste if you actually think that it was a 'fantastic' anime.

You have a fucking general, why do you need to make these threads?

To be fair I only watched S1 of Log Horizon.

I thought it was good especially with nailing how some of the MMO aspects work.

The story itself reeked of too many cooks unfortunately. There wasn't enough focus and as a result many episodes are either boring or incredibly drawn out.

There is also the fact that Shiroe can literally alter the laws of the universe; chipping away at Log Horizon's greatest strength.

How is season 2 by the way? The huge shift in art style kind of turned me off initially but I'd be willing to give it a watch.

Flying space whales were cool as fuck though, and certain characters made slugging through S2 more fun.

If the player was garbage the whole time and complained the whole time about how nothing they do matters because it's all bullshit

a.k.a. Anime Adaption about DSP playing Dark Souls.

Well now I want a dub where DSP voices the main character. Maybe I'd actually watch the show.

The second half was awful because all the build-up culminated into absolutely fuck-all and the show got a non-ending
Episode 15 is probably the only good thing about that show

I've lurked Re:Zero threads on Sup Forums but stopped before the anime aired, why do people hate it so much? Were they actually expecting it to be anything above 7/10?

>>How is season 2 by the way? The huge shift in art style kind of turned me off initially but I'd be willing to give it a watch.
Everyone agrees it's fucking awful, they took everything that was good about S1 and threw it out the window

They get stuck in some crap dungeon for half the season and the plot progresses at a snails pace, then season 2 focuses on all the shitty newbies in the guild rather than the original cast

The author got arrested for tax evasion anyways

Did we even watch the same show? The First have wasn't barely good enough to hold itself up. The pacing was boring, the plot was vague at best with him learning about his power while replaying the same day up until he actually lucks the fuck out and by then he's destroyed his own character by revealing just how stupidly selfish he is deep down.

*The then second half focuses on all the shitty newbies in the cast

I'm trying my hardest to forget about season 2

This is a japanese puppy and AOTY

One thing I don't understand in animes is when someone thinks they're evil egocentric shits for feeling good about saving someone. Like they did it just to feel good. I mean, you save someone's life of course you'll feel good about doing so, you stupid little shit.

If they actually adapt more of the LN into anime form it gets better.

Subaru actually stops being such a useless piece of shit in later volumes and actually learns to fight and gets some other tools to make him not such a shitter. They're reasonable power-ups too. Not "I'm so strong now and can solve every problem"

If thinking Re:Zero is a fantastic anime makes me have "trash taste" then I will gladly admit that. I guess SSY, Mushishi and Ping Pong are trash too because I also think they are fantastic.

I'm not afraid to like things that are popular. The contrarian mentality needs to wither and die. You should judge something on its own merits, not what others think of it.

I will agree that the second half could've been better towards the last few episodes but it was still executed fairly well. The complete breakdown of Subaru's mental state was done even better than the first half. Rem's confession scene was also one of the best confessions in all of anime.

You aren't citing any specific examples though so its hard to tell if you even watched the show. For example you can say that not putting a nod to Rem's memory loss detracted from the show. Then again if your going to call something trash maybe you shouldn't have others come up with arguments for you?

>game features an alpha male.

>Rem's confession scene was also one of the best confessions in all of anime.
Not him but I've haven't felt less for an emotional scene in a long time until that point. I don't get how you could perceive that scene as special at all rather then as some generic confession.

Subaru breaking down was a drag, it was boring as fuck to watch because it was just Subaru doing the same old Subaru shit, screaming and crying at people without thinking things through. Saw this 100 times already, breakdown was more of the same. The only breakdown that I was moved to tears in was when Subaru started to cry in Half-Elf's legs.

Rem's confession scene was also a drag, as you could easily guess that Subaru was going to say "lolno half-elf has thucc thighs". Even when Subaru was like "let's just go and get out of here" you knew it somehow wasn't gonna be so because if they did leave the world would go to shit anyway due to angry witch bunny ferret spirit. Don't get me wrong, the execution was near perfection, but the pacing was off, there was no point during it in which I told myself "Yes, they're gonna become a couple" or "Yes, they're going to flee together.". I think that's something they should've done to avoid it becoming a drag, as every statement was extended by like 5-6 lines of dialogue for some reason. It was an entire episode for a fucking confession mate.
