Why is this the least talked about Mario game?
>Best Mario hub
>Best controls
>Fantastic graphics
>7 unique level areas
>Levels without FLUDD are some of the best platforming from the series
>Great soundtrack
Why is this the least talked about Mario game?
>Best Mario hub
>Best controls
>Fantastic graphics
>7 unique level areas
>Levels without FLUDD are some of the best platforming from the series
>Great soundtrack
>Disappointing final boss
>Blue coins
>100% is pretty much pointless
>I'M A CHUCKSTER
among other things
I grew up with Sunshine, I like it, but at the same time I can see why it's so infamous.
>7 unique level areas
Yeah it's absolutely bursting at the seems with half the levels and a fraction of the objective variety of Super Mario 64, a launch game.
>terrible voice acting
>some of the ugliest character designs
>blue coins
>only 7 levels
>worst 3D final battle
>flawed yoshi mechanics
>some levels have to 3 red coin missions
The problem was the amount of levels. If it had 11 or 12 levels it would be hailed as the greatest Mario ever.
People didn't like that there wasn't as much platforming because of fluud but each level had a non fluud mission that was fucking amazing.
In general I had loads more fun with this game then I did with 64. The latter I was more mystified by because I was little kid. Sunshine I just appreciated for some of the ridiculous challenges and extremely tight controls.
It ends rather abruptly
>Best hub
I think I prefer Peach's Castle, I do also lik the Comet Observatory, but I don't know if the Blue coins and gondola ride puts Sunshine's hub below Galaxy's.
Starship Mari was a misake though
It had better graphics and camera than 64, but the island vacation setting was off-putting, the game was too short, virtually everything about FLUDD I hated.
You know why? Because the best levels were the levels where you didn't have FLUDD.
BANG. It's a good game, but it has some problems.
The best part about the Comet Observatory was the music: youtube.com
Pinna Park and Noki Beach had good levels that weren't the "Secret of" shines.
> island vacation setting was offputting
How was it offputting? If anything 64 was offputting because of how abysmal the visuals for that game were, Sunshine had a pretty consistent setting the same way 1,USA, and 3 did.
If you compare it directly to its predecessor, Mario 64, Sunshine comes up a bit short.
The start of Sunshine has the unskippable portion where you acquire Fludd, which gets irritating.
It has fewer levels, some of which are very weak.
Yoshi was not fun to use.
The biggest problem is NO LONG JUMP.
The music is pretty much the main reason why I liked it, although it did have a tiny bit of exploring to do.
>having less worlds than 64 warrants a point
>not even one or two levels less, practically half
I was just talking about the hubworld, but the two galaxy games did have a really good OST, I don't know how they had such good orchestra sountracks, along with Nuts and Bolts, but FFX HD's one was so shit
what the fuck

All sound so much better than the original ones it's actually kind of funny.
>Super Mario 64
>variety
>2 snow levels
>3 water levels
>Lava level
>Desert Level
>Haunted Mansion Level
>Cave level
>Fortress level
>Sky level
>Clock level
>Tiny Huge Island
>2 Mountain levels (one already included with the ice)
>Fortress level
>Bob-omb Battlefield
It' mostly a good spread
I genuinely didn't like it, especially the bit t 1:30 or so
