Playing this right now. Should I care about the townspeople? Nearly half of them look like emo faggots, I'd rather isolate myself on my farm and do my thing, but I guess I'll miss out on a lot.
Is there a point when you dont have to worry about what to buy next? Harvesting them crops is a fucking chore.

They'll send random junk and recipes when reach certain milestones but that's about it.
If all you really want is to be hermit, go for it.

>Is there a point when you dont have to worry about what to buy next? Harvesting them crops is a fucking chore.

When you get to that point the game is over.

>Harvesting them crops is a fucking chore.
get some sprinklers

OP, it's your own farm in your own world. You do as you please. Nobody will hold it against you.

What are the best portrait mods? I don't want to wife any of these supposed females!

The one that turns all of the boys into cute girls

>Not playing till you have a full greenhouse of ancient fruit and the rest of your land filled with kegs

Is there a way to ba exhausted slower ? I cut 7 god damn trees and it's already the end of the day at 10am ...

after the first day when you kinda need to get 50 wood for a chest cut trees as something you do at the end of the day with whatever energy you have left over; not something you do in the morning

unless you're grinding the 300 wood for the beach bridge
also you already know about the spring onions in the south of the forest right? collect them every day in spring.

How can one man be this wrong?

becoming cuter doesn't make penny any less of a slut

Are there any portrait mods that change ALL the characters?
I haven't looked since shortly after the game came out, but as I remember it, all the mods only changed the marriageable characters and it looked awful because they were completely out of place.

...

Food.

shit, guess I need to get the game now

>being furfag
Neck yourself you shit cunt.

cute

>all those fedoras

not a furfag
still looks better than the base game sprites

>Abigail as dragon
Should not have laughed.

I'm about to start this as well, anything I should know, any tips?

Dont give as fuck about how pretty your farm looks until you can make the 2nd tier sprinklers

All bitches love parsnips

This is all i've learned

Alright

What's so bad about them?

>bugfu

When your first fall comes around, get on that cranberry train.

Oh, and you shouldn't worry about improving relationships/trying to marry anyone until year two, I feel. Stabilize, make a profitable farm and get on the other stuff once you don't have to worry about cash so much.

Thanks, are there any missables in this game or anything I should buy/try to get asap?

Make sure to check out the community centre in the first spring

I'd actually recommend against what that user said. It's fun to socialize, farm, and mine all in the same day. Some days you'll be spending more time on your farm than others, but most you'll just be watering crops then moving on. Exploring, foraging, talking to the towns people, giving the ones you like gifts, finding out what they like or hate, collecting ore and other loot from the mines.

You'll be missing out on fun little recipes and general storyline if you ignore the town people. It will feel completely empty once you're rich and anything they offer you will have no value. You'll be skipping days by going to be early because you have nothing left to do.

From personal experience, no, not really.
I think the game is meant to be played like you want to, so finding out what works for you/what you deem optimal is up to you.
Although I will say, once you get the community center unlocked you should try working toward completing the bundles. It'll pay off.

Thanks everyone, this game is so fucking comfy, but what a depressing intro

buy more crops for your first planting but only Parsnips; if you get a silver star parsnip on the harvest for this crop give it to Lewis for his birthday on the 7th

Save all gold star parsnips and keep planting Parsnips (albeit not necessarily as your only planted crop) until you get 5 gold star ones
waiting 1 extra day after your first harvest to replant can be worthwhile because it lets you create fertilizer with the farming levels you gain

Something you might want to discover on your own: The Travelling Cart exists and shows up in the top-left of the forest every Friday and Sunday; check it every time.

The 1st year Spring Dance is a meme but it's possible to get a dance with Abigail, Haley, Leah, Maru, Emily, Shane, Harvey, Elliot with research; Penny with research and some luck, Sebastian with research and a lot of luck and a first year dance with Alex is all but impossible

A 1st year dance without using a guide is pretty much impossible though except for Haley (who still needs work); I would advise not even bothering to show up and use the day to fish or enter the mines as the store doesnt even sell strawberry seeds.

Maybe I did a bad job of getting my point across then.
I wasn't recommending against socializing or anything. Just wanted to say that really getting the townspeople the gifts they like can take some time and money.
Obviously you can always start making friends very early on, but it is definitely easier once you have some funds and more time in the day for that.

George is simultaneously one of the easiest friends to make and one of the most emotionally rewarding.
Evelyn is lovely people also. Visiting the old couple every day is heartwarming after George stops being so cantankerous.

I accidentally romanced Alex during the second or third year, I can't remember.

At first I was really surprised - this wasn't a Bioware game why on Earth would they...- but then I decided to just go with it.

It turned out pretty great, don't regret it for a second, even though i'm not gay IRL

>even though I'm not gay irl
>picked alex
nigga you gay

As degenerate as this is, it's well made.

where is Emily?

Row 4, column 5.

that's the Oasis chick

You didn't think this through, did you?
