Servers are dead.
It's over.
Servers are dead.
It's over.
If only a semi-competent studio made a SF clone, so I could jump SFV's shitty sinking ship.
But nope, it HAS to be an airdasher or even worse!
>tfw too low iq to play anime
Oh don't make it sound like that is your only option. You people must have Stockholm's when it comes to SF. There are tons of fighters out there to play.
I love SFV
debate me
>tfw still spamming jab for anti air
>tfw still working strong
We got a lot of porn for the alternate costumes, especially Chun-Li.
That is the most important part so the game is a success where it counts.
Links?
They still work but mine got noticeably worse, sometimes alex can swooce through spam with a headbutt when it was impossible in s1
Been busy these past few weeks so finally got some time to invest in SFV last night. I play Birdie, the slower grey death and slower normals overall are killing me, along with his meaty being fairly unreliable.
The extra combo, though nice, isn't enough of a trade off.
I was gonna take a break anyway even if the servers didn't go down, because I just fought this one ryu who would just jab whenever I jamp and it was pissing me off. This trick was supposed to be dead but capcom is incompetent.
So stop jamping?
Wow man so funny what you did there with that word.
no, it was supposed to be worse and it is
stop trying to get all your damage from a jump in you basic fuck
>sinking ship
>implying 2017 wont be THE year of SFV and MvC
2017 is going to be fighting games biggest comeback
Nothing in my post states I was doing that. Stop trying to take guesses and then acting like an ass with your guesses as justification.
>Finally beat Bison with Nash
>server cut out so it didn't count
>this ryu was hitting me when I jumped
>okay so stop jumping
>haha very funny that's NOT AN OPTION
>dude just stop jumping if you don't want to get hit
>nothing in my post states I was jumping :(
>release game that is awful in virtually every single way imaginable
>lol haters
WHY THE FUCK DID THEY BUFF LAURA? THE BUFFS ARE SO FUCKING ARBITRARY
>not letting laura zap you
haha wow what are you gay or something?
>haha very funny that's NOT AN OPTION
Alright you are just straight out making up stories now. Are you really so desperate to be a retard on the internet that you go as far as just making up reasons?
That's a bit sad.
You took legitimate advice and laughed at it as if it was a joke.
I'm not even trying to start a fight this time, you should just jump less if you're tired of getting hit when you do it.
>Haters will be left behind
so 90% of the fanbase then?
PUT LAURA IN USFIV
Post honest characters
Your observation skills are a bit lacking aren't they mate? He did make a joke by copying the word I typed wrong back at me, which was very funny and clever of him. My reply was, obviously, to that, since I even mentioned what he did with the word.
It's a bit amusing you took that I was "laughing" at the advice itself. Maybe you are one of those people who read something while thinking of other stuff and then only retain half of what they read.
>They're fixing the matchmaking gaps
God damn it that was the only way I was able to get consistent matches in the first place
>kappa luddites still trying to meme sf4 into not-dead status on their windows xp machines
Street Fighter 5 stopped running on my computer even though it worked the first 5 months. What the hell.
>server maintenance to fix a matchmaking bug that allowed for players to get matched way out of their LP range
That would explain why I got matched with Diamonds despite being Platinum. Still got some meme wins, though.
I bought SFV and Xrd Revelator over the holidays, and while I like SFV, Revelator feels so much more fun to play.
Man, if only half the people who shill this meme game would actually play it, at least then you'd have some credibility.
>SFV has thrice the players Revelator has even when the servers are down
Can't make this shit up.
That's like arguing against Doom because Call of Duty sold more.
Street Fighter has more brand recognition, and it's a "weeb" fighter.
Get actually good at fighting games instead of constantly eating Capcom brand pig swill, and you'll find Revelator is a much better game than SFV.
>plenty of single player stuff to do
>lobbies are objectively better, allowing for multiple winner-stays-on matches at a time with nice simple UI
>gameplay is fast, frantic with plenty of mechanics to master
>characters take hours to master as opposed to learning a crush counter combo and leaving it there
You may be shilling but these points are legit. Revelator has more content and better lobbies than SFV, and was probably made on a tenth of the budget.
The problem is there is not enough people playing it
>That's like arguing against Doom because Call of Duty sold more.
It's not. MKX sold even more than SFV and yet the playerbase is much bigger.
>it's a "weeb" fighter
Not really. Getting produced by a Japanese company doesn't mean it's weeb.
>content
What exactly is "content" referring to when talking about a 1on1 fighting game? Fighters? Game modes?
I like how you equal being "good at fighting games" to "playing this weeb shit". I also like how the first point you bring up is singleplayer - you know, shit that doesn't matter to anyone who actually plays fighting games.
Face the facts: GG is where people go when they can't compete in other, more popular fighting games because the competition is too severe. That's where they pat themselves on the back for "mastering" the "superior" and "more demanding" fighting game, which is easy when you're one out of five people who actually play. Don't even bother opening your talking hole.
By the way, I play Namco fighters as well. So there goes your "argument".
>give me a few weeks
>game was released a year ago
No you dumb fucking spic. Enough.
Game modes. Revelator has:
-Story mode (if you really care about that kind of thing)
-Classic arcade mode, a BASIC ESSENTIAL of single player fighting game content that SFV shunned in favor of those god-awful character prologues
-Vs. CPU (a feature SFV was missing for months)
-M.O.M.
-Individual character special move training
-Individual character challenges
-Traditional training mode
-Missions
Plenty of stuff to help you learn the game/get used to a character and prepare yourself for online.
i play her since day 1, she is my wife.
stop posting pictures of my wife
>I play Namco fighters as well.
why would you admit that
SFV has all of the above minus the arcade mode.
SFV also doesn't nickle and dime you with a mandatory update at full price half a year later.
Guilty Gear sucks though.
Do you even play it?
Nah, I'll agree on the GG has better quality of life standards (most fighting games on the market do), but I can't get behind the game play. Just doesn't match my preferences.
If I were to drop SF this generation, I'd go to KI most likely.
I'm going to lick, sniff and tickle your wife's big sexy feets
ok, but only if you let me watch
Game modes. SFV has:
-Story mode (if you really care about that kind of thing)
-Individual Character Story Matches (prologue and epilogue to story mode), It's Not Arcade mode but it's still content.
-Vs. CPU (a feature SFV was missing for months but has regardless
- Basic Demonstrations and Tutorials
-Individual character Demonstrations
-Individual character challenges
-Traditional training mode
-Missions
- Survival Mode of varying difficulties
- Occupied Online lounges for casual and ranked
Really what's so different? The character stories still fulfill what Arcade mode would, minus 4 matches...Let's not pretend that one game suddenly has more content over the other. They're more or less the same.
Ignoring GGs shitty gameplay its just not a good idea to get it.
You will get fucked over by yearls 60$ patches that barely add anything, game is mega dead because ASW dont care about their fans and dont include proper cross platform play and the way they publish stuff is still terrible, just look at the mega delayed and overpriced PC Revelator release.
but what fucking fighting game should i play that's alive
Oh also lets not forget the awful GG community that shits up any place no matter where you go trying to force everybody to play their game while shitting on any other game like in this thread.
I've seen them start shit with SF, BB, SG, Tekken and MK players.
Terrible people to play with all around.
>GG is where people go when they can't compete in other, more popular fighting games
Xrd is literally at everyone's locals along with sfv and smash. You can defend sfv if you want, but don't blindly hate on guilty gear.
It's like you're saying some people only play chess because they can't handle checkers.
Smash if you are into that sort of thing.
SFV of course.
Fighting game fans of any game shit on any other game and its fans, none of you play nice with each other.
Now shill me your favorite fighter and why I should play it and start there and most importantly that I can find matches online in
I have 13 years of Smash in me but I want to try a traditional fighter
Probably Tekken 7 if it's ever going to come out
SFV is the only fighter thats properly alive currently until Tekken7 and Marvel come out.
SFV is generally a great starting point for 2D fighters, and Tekken is fine for 3D too, especially now that VF is ded.
But yeah, thats not true. GG fans are generally the most obnoxious and vocal.
You barely hear shit from Blazblue players, they know how to behave themselves.
Even the much bigger Tekken and MK communites arent that shit.
I'm only getting overwhelmingly SFV in these threads so I suppose that's going to have to be it. Does it play fine on KB/M or should I get it on PS4
>Xrd is literally at everyone's locals along with sfv and smash.
Since we're in anecdotical territory now: My local anime fightan community is full of spergs who refuse to play anything that isn't obscure weeb trash. SF players who host events are cool with GG and KoF, sometimes even Smash, but anything Capcom is strictly forbidden when animufags host.
I like to imagine Sup Forums is populated with the same kind of aspies.
WHAT HAPPENED TO POKKEN
THEY SAID IT WAS GONNA BE THE NEXT BIG THING
>Does it play fine on KB/M
No.
kb/m only if you want to use 3rd party programs for the keybinds
the lazy fucks still haven't fixed that shit
other than that it's kind of irrelevant getting it on ps4/pc, since it has crossplay
it's on you
>"You're a big guy!"
>"For two."
Any fighter can work on a keyboard and mouse considering how simple the inputs are. It'll always take some getting used to. You might have more trouble with grapplers and charge characters though since the fluidity of motion characters feels more natural.
>SFV also doesn't nickle and dime you with a mandatory update at full price half a year later.
Neither did Guilty Gear?
>setplay : the game : the experience : the reckoning
no thanks
It's a Wii U exclusive
>They're fixing the matchmaking gaps
They are? Where did you get that info?
I bought this game thinking it was some touch of death blazblu/skullgirls shit, but it's actually a ton of fun. RC is FADC but you're free to use to more often, plenty of things to spend meter on, good amount of offensive and defensive options, and the graphics are amazing. The characters haven't grown on me yet but I like to imagine each of them being a random member of the hero society in one punch man.
PICTURE NOT RELATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>tfw tried my pirate version of goober gear while servers are down
Damn that game is awful.
Is that a question or a statement? Feels like it's a deformed child of both.
It's a pain in the ass to set up since you need two wii's to play competitively.
...
Use a controller.
You can use your PS4 pad on PC.
PS4 is tournament standard, PC has better prices, controller options and nice and useful mods.
The online play is connected between both so it ultimately doesnt matter too much.
No matter how good or deep the mechanics are, how can you look at the characters in Guilty Gear and not get a brain hemorrhage? It's the definition of weebie beltanzipper character design.
>one character literally has a belt as a blindfold
As much as I like Guilty Gear, Sign is kind of dead in the water now.
>but you still CAN play Sign!
Yeah, and you can still play SSF4, but why would you?
It's a question looking for either disagreement or agreement
>but anything Capcom is strictly forbidden when animufags host.
I've seen that before and thats pretty disgusting, really.
Their games have been tolerated at primarily Capcom based events for decades now and then they act like this.
Not all of them are like that, but its actually a thing.
I might give them a chance if they stopped treating PC players like shit. Minimum 6 month wait, ensuring you can never enjoy it while it's still being actively covered and discussed. On top of that, they charge full price while the other systems already have it sitting in the bargain bin at $15-20. Despite that, they don't even include the DLC.
And they're dead games to boot, entirely resulting from those practices.
Why didn't I savour my SFIV years? I fell for the SFV will be honest meme.
As a Super Bronze, I kind of wish they weren't fixing the matchmaking. Fighting silvers or golds without worrying about LP is a lot better than fighting potential smurfs every other match.
That implies the PC market plays fighting games in the first place
Smurfing is the most dishonest thing someone can possibly do. Rejoice in the fact that, while worse at the game, you are a better person than they are.
Fuck off I don't want to lose a billion LP because you meme'd on me with your 56K connection.
It might be ok for you but not for the one you're fighting.
There isn't even a market on PC for fighting games anyways
It does, just not shitty delayed ripoff port patches from ASW. For obvious reasons.
>counts online activity as basis of being 'alive'.
Online only FG players are e-statters and scrubs. If you're not leaving the house and going to/making local tournies, you're a casual. Always has been this way, always will be.
Like a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the SFV playerbase plays on PC.
So I'm doomed
No I'm talking about offline too.
I guess Injustice2 will revive things a bit.
I had no trouble finding players in SFIV when it was alive, nor do I have trouble finding third strike players on fightcade, and I live in Australia. The only good connections are people from Aus and NZ, combined pop of like 30 mil. Hell I was still finding opponents today in USF4.
The average PC player is weird. He wants all the games, but he doesn't want to pay for them. He wants to play, but insists on using keyboard / mouse for everything even though a joypad would be far more feasable. He wants to be good, but doesn't want to invest time and effort into getting there.
You can see why fighting games have it hard on PC.
A quarter actually. And because of the crossplay playing against others will never become an issue.
Thats something ASW still havent realized and thats why they dont deserve any support.
This is the problem with LP and ranking systems. On one hand, people who aren't shit at the game but haven't ranked up are bored out of there fucking minds. While, on the other side, people get so far up their own ass that all they care about are muh points.
Yes of course. Just look at all these people playing what is the most generous PC port of a fighting game.
So many people.
Considering the servers are down and people literally can't play it online right now, 900 is pretty damn good.
