So I just finished The Witcher 3 and for some reason achieved the worst ending?! What the fuck. That shit was brutal. I feel emotionally drained. I'm not even sure what I did, it feels like I made good and as close to 'just' decisions as possible the whole way through.
Regardless, what an exquisite game. Definitely the best I've ever played. The way it transports you to its world and sucks you in, goddamn. It'll be difficult to forget this experience.
Are the expansions worth dipping into now I've finished the main story? Or will it just prolong my emotional suffering after my tragic ending?
>Are the expansions worth dipping into now I've finished the main story? Or will it just prolong my emotional suffering after my tragic ending?
Do them now and earn even more bad endings.
Seriously though, the expansions are really good.
Dominic Roberts
>I made good and as close to 'just' decisions as possible
Oh man I feel ya dude, that sucks.
Ryan Phillips
You didn't support Ciri, you wern't a good Dad. You slept around instead of remaining faithful, you don't deserve to retire with a waifu4laifu.
You earned that bad end if you actually got the worst possible ending.
And yes, the expansions are absolutely worth playing. Hearts of Stone is straight up the best content in the Witcher 3, and one of the best DLC expansions ever imo.
Dylan King
>Are the expansions worth dipping into now I've finished the main story?
if you want to miss out on the best girl then skip them
Austin Gonzalez
What ending did you get? Ciri dying?
Carter Turner
Hot diggity damn. Which one should I play first?
I honestly feel like I was given that ending by mistake. I have no idea what I've done wrong.
I don't get this. I supported that sharp faced bitch the entire way through?
Avvala'ch getting a little boorish? I told him to fuck off.
Emhyr offering me money? I told him to fuck off.
I only chucked my log up Yen and Kiera, and ending up completing Yens love arc. This was annoying because Triss's titties looked divine at the party, but I still withheld my boner.
I took Ciri to the grave of Skjall.
I pleaded with her to not enter the White Frost instead of forbidding her.
The only negative thing I can fathom I did was let off the Witcher who slaughtered the village. But that was a shitty sidequest, not a story arc. Surely that has no effect?
Oh and I also slaughtered pic related, so maybe that had an effect?
Yeah, where you hunt down the last crone and expire in the hut holding her medallion.
Michael Wright
I made a few wrong choices too but the game really hammers home that it wants you to let ciri do what she wants. You should have just picked the good luck option when she decided to enter the white frost.
Nathan Ortiz
Killing Radovic wont give you the bad ending
Also start with Hearts of Stone, finish that and travel to Toussaint
Brayden Edwards
The bad ending is by far the best one though. Both of the other ones just seem rushed as fuck, same as the complete second half of the game.
John Adams
I bet you didn't have a snowball fight with her and you didn't steal those horses with her.
Asher Johnson
> and for some reason You are a shitty dad, that's why. Never reproduce.
Tyler Foster
My only problem with this game was the ending system.
I know they did it to make multiple playthroughs worth it but in the end it just made me follow guides to get the good ending. I'm not someone who will play a game more than once.
Jace Diaz
I still feel like that's not enough to warrant the ending I recieved. I pretty much defended her right to choose the whole way through, with the lodge, Avalla'ch, everything. I felt the 'Please don't do this' option regarding the White Frost would be the most appropriate from Geralts position. He's spent nearly a year finding her and defending her in any way he can, he wouldn't be completely cool headed by the prospect of her sacrifice.
Thanks bro.
I kinda agree after watching the others on youtube, but I still wish things turned out better.
I didn't have a snowball fight, I don't remember being given that option. But I definitely stole the horses.
Luis Butler
I got the good ending on the first try.
Asher Cook
This desu, I got the good ending and didn't even try.
Hunter Carter
>being protective is shitty
Fuck this game. A bet all those fathers who let their daughters be crackwhores are the good ones, huh?
Landon Lewis
I will give a fuckin run down on the decisions I made step by step to prove that CD Projekt conspired against me to hurt my feelings
Elijah Phillips
There are five specific choices that you make to determine the ending and you need at least three for the good. Googling the guide to the ending gives you everything you need to know
Austin Ward
The point was you were to let Ciri make her own decisions and be her own person.
She's like twenty something, she's not a kid.
Ryan Myers
to be fair, the snowball fight kind of comes out of nowhere from a dialogue choice that says "*cheer her up*"
IIRC, the choice was to be serious with her and give a meaningful speech about death, or to ignore it and have a snowball fight
Blake Price
You have to support your daughter but also make sure she learns how to live on her own because at some point you can no longer be there for her.
Ian Bennett
Well to be honest at that point Vesemir had died, I think talking about death was the last thing she needed.
Luis Morgan
Being protective is fine, being OVERprotective is bad.
Jose Scott
OP here, this makes things a little clearer. Thanks. I still think it's bullshit I recieved the bad ending even with this information.
So here are the criteria for getting the bad ending, and like you say, you need to do three of these:
>Say “Relax, you don’t have to be good at everything,” when comforting Ciri during Blood on the Battlefield.
I chose this. If we're in agreement that not being overprotective of Ciri is a virtue, of which I understood pretty quickly after they made contact, I felt this the better option. She's getting told she's the greastest thing ever by every character in this world, she knows she's hot shit, surely the most important man in her life helping her develop a chill attitude towards her responsibilities is only gonna be beneficial? I mean she's OP as fuck already, and pretty much a demigod by the final scene, so why does this hinder her in a negative way? Letting her relax doesn't equate to encouraging her to forget her responsibilities.
>Choose to visit the Emperor during Blood on the Battlefield, and say “Definitely need it more than you” to accept payment for bringing Ciri to him.
I rejected the coin. I did tell Yen I wasn't going to meet him before I was forcefully summoned, however. I assume this still discounts this.
>Accompany Ciri to the meeting with the Lodge of Sorceresses during Final Preparations.
I did. Just in case they tried to fill her head with shit. I barely interjected. Who gives a fuck? Surely Geralt is the most experienced in sorcesseres bullshit so would know how easily they can manipulate. 'The Last Wish' story in the first fucking book is all about Yen decieving Geralt.
Jonathan Lopez
>Say “Calm down” when Ciri loses her temper during The Child of the Elder Blood.
Yeah. So? Geralt would say this. He's about to pull off the fight of his life, especially avenging Vesemir for good. I remember the other option being much more hostile. if the potential empress of Nilfgaard can't handle being told to calm down she's worse than Emhyr
>Say “No time” when Ciri asks to visit Skjall’s grave at the end of The Child of the Elder Blood.
No, I let her attend and build his new grave.
This doesn't seem to warrant having Geralt die by drowners in some shithole swamp IMO
Andrew Smith
Got to skellige then just stopped, really enjoyed a lot of my time with the game but combat has now become a complete drag, I can't be bothered anymore, real shame.
William Davis
How busted is a pure Sign build and how do I make one?
Zachary Evans
I didn't steal the horses because it was a douche move but the motherfucker sucker punched me so I bad to beat his ass
Michael Phillips
If you had read the books, you'd know Ciri went through tough shit already and isn't an airhead with cool powers.
Elijah Lee
well, Ciri is a crackwhore (CDPR kinda ignored that) so it's obvious what kind of a dad you should've been
Austin Bennett
They didn't ignore how much of a mary sue she was.
Jaxon Gomez
It's absolutely useless against the few bosses in the game but crazy OP against everything else. They've also nerfed signs over the patches, you can't do pic-related anymore.
To make a sign build, get all the griffon gear. Get the griffon school techniques. Pick and choose like 9~10 blue talents from the first two rows of the sign page, doesn't matter if you just got 1 point in them, you are using them more for the mutagen bonus. Pick up the "Synergy" alchemy talent that boosts mutagen. You'll have like 300++% sign intensity with all of that.
Andrew Howard
Yeah, you don't want to miss best girl
Chase Lee
I read the books, but goddamn. Making sure everything goes right when Ciri talks to the two biggest manipulative bitches on the planet is overprotective? Really? C'mon
Ethan Martin
This
Nolan Evans
>tfw went into game completely blind and go the best ending
Feels good not being a fucking dumbass
Anthony Wilson
Basically you have to baby Ciri and cater to her every whimper while also treating her like an adult. It's kind of stupid.
Brayden Nguyen
stealing the horses doesn't affect ending
If you did not visit emhyr after kaer morhen you need to do 2 of these 4: >snowball fight >visit skjall grave >let ciri talk to lodge alone >trash avallach's lab If you did visit emhyr then there will be one more choice (take or refuse gold), making it so you need 3/5 good choices (refusing gold is the correct choice) if you visit emhyr, get 3/5 good choices, and have nilfgaard win the war then you get empress ending getting 2/4 good choices, or 3/5 without nilfgaard winning the war will give you witcheress ending
Luis Perry
bad ending 1st playthrough detected Visiting Skjall's grave is literally a giveaway, then you have three (3) other chances. Unless you fuck up all 3 you would get the good ending.
being overprotective is like a guarantee that you daughter will be a crackwhore, they always do the opposite you want
Benjamin Walker
I thought Witcher fans were supposed to be anti gay. It is good to see not all are because OP is clearly a fag.
Nathaniel Lopez
>le stronk womyn makes skellige prosper
Why do SJWs think this game is problematic again?
Evan Jones
>let ciri talk to lodge alone Throw ya girl to the wolves even though it's clear the game wants you to help her out at any cost.
>trash avallach's lab Let Ciri rage with her power when she hears something she doesn't like. She can transport across the multiverse but can't get a grip that someone doesn't like her? You're supposed to encourage this?
Yeah, sounds like "good" choices to me.
not an argument fagarino
Adrian Gray
It's her choice user, CDPR gives the best ending to smart gamers that know how toxic a patriarchal relationship is :^)
Ayden Myers
Being overprotective as fuck to your kida will get you Willy Wonkas in return
Nicholas Sanders
maybe if you weren't such a no-fun-allowed bitch to Ciri you would have gotten the best ending, you asshole.
Julian Wood
You're fucking retarded. I let her do everything including stealing the horses, the only things I impeded her doing was blowing up the lab like an immature slut and telling her to calm down. Or are you such a cuck that you get the shakes when you have to confront a woman?
Christopher Moore
Sorry this post was meant for this retard.
William Sanders
Congratulations. A video game has just informed you that you should absolutely never have children, because you are too fucking stupid to be a father.
Thank you for participating.
Liam Bennett

Jeremiah Ramirez
I didn't make any side quest and her only flashback was me letting her steal the horse, and got the best ending
Colton Thompson
...
Eli Martin
I was trolling, I made father-like responsible decisions at first, but after I saw that the game was reacting like I did the wrong thing I reloaded the checkpoint and let her do every stupid thing she wanted, and got the best ending. Considering how important it's the writing in this game, I was surprised to see they did something so superficial to affect an extremely important thing like the ending. I bet plenty of players got a shitty ending just for having cared about Ciri's safety
Gabriel Rodriguez
Oh, I fell for that like an idiot.
Yeah I'd completely agree. If anything it feels rushed, and thinking about it more, runs counter to some of Sapkowski's prose.
Ethan Ortiz
Blood and Wine is legitimately long and good enough to be a separate Witcher game. Absolutely buy it, no question. I had my doubts at first too, and I almost didn't even play it after I finished the story, but it's 100% worth it.
Connor Lewis
The Grind "?"-Off of the map simulator.

If you want to be stupid OP, alchemy is the way to go

>not Shani
get out of here cunts
Brayden Campbell
This board will say you deserve it, but it's stupid and vague. The option doesn't even imply a snowball fight, in fact, I thought it implied drinking! Maybe that just speaks on how I was raised, idk.
But either way at that point, she's an adult with a serious responsibility. She should of been training on how to control it and not just Fucking around throwing snowballs.
And I don't get the "just let her do what she wants" thing because then later the right choice is to not listen to her and have her talk to the sorcerers herself rather then go in with her.
Anthony Wright
I agree. I got the witcher ending and I honestly thought it sucked. The choices are super vague. I guess what the developers were trying to imply was even if life is hard and you have a lot of responsibilities. You have to try to enjoy the small thing (happy times) or you will stop even seeing the point on pushing forward.
Nolan Kelly
Trashing the lab is probably the most important choice in the game.
It's actually pretty fun to see them knock shit over and draw mustaches on the portraits.
Ian James
Is this better you double nigger?
Jace Davis
Of course CDPR is going to appeal to gamefags that have never read the books and don't realize that Yenn is the canon choice.
Also >not knowing what death of the author is
Chase Evans
>yennfags in charge of rationalisation You can keep your evil cunt of a hunchback, familia.
Dominic Torres
you can keep your cheap valley girl slut
>gamefags don't know that triss is more manipulative than yenn ever was
o i am laffin
Kevin Cooper
>A woman that cares more about Geralt and Ciri than anyone else >Evil
Subtle reminder that Triss plotted to have Ciri become the Lodge's puppet and lied to Geralt for years when he had amnesia.
Caleb Collins
>slay scariest monsters known to the world >best bro with kings and emperors >a key figure of modern history >ubermensch even by witcher standards >literally a walking fockin' legend >can't handle a couple of manipulative cunts
Really makes you hora-hora
Blake Anderson
Love is a hell of a drug, user.
Not that you'd know.
Austin Brown
The general trend of getting one of the good endings is that you need to let Ciri stand on her own two feet and make her own decisions. If you coddle her, then she doesn't have enough confidence in herself at the end without Geralt and dies.
Sebastian James
That feel when you just played through W3 and Hearts of Stone and are doing Blood and Wine for the first time and got Ciri is a Witcher ending. Also, beat Gaunter O'dimm at his own game (like it was even hard to do that)
How did you fuck up this badly?
Colton Walker
>trying to justify your retarded choices
Kek 2bh
Jayden Baker
>What is choice in a role playing game
goodness me user
Brayden Robinson
Then why are you complaining about them?
Nolan Jenkins
>coddle the girl who is actually more powerful than you >she can fucking teleport and is way faster than Geralt >her elder blood makes her 10x stronger and more powerful >WE NEED TO MAKE SURE CIRI IS SAFE choices at every turn >making Ciri not do anything at all ever >expecting her to save the world at the end
Brandon Richardson
Funny, one of the BLACKED pornstars was raised in a good town in Texas, did well in school, had a very strict christian family, and was aiming for a degree in Bio and Eng. Turns out the biggest whores are raised in the strictest environments
James Morris
Luka is really such a cutie. Wish we didn't still have shota Luka in Paradox. Why couldn't we have teen Luka, or even adult Luka?
Dominic Wilson

Carson Gomez
I mean, Ciri survived and became a pro witcher under my reasoning, Ciri died under yours.
Every time I got to play as Ciri all I could think was "holy shit she's better than Geralt" which led me to let her fight when she wanted, because she does it better than Geralt, and if she gets into trouble she can just TELEPORT THE FUCK AWAY, lol.
Brandon Gutierrez
in B&W "good" ending is actually the worst
Wyatt Martin
t. edgelord
Julian Bell
I did too. Like I said, all I told her to do was the calm down during her hissy fit in the camp, and I didn't let her destroy the lab because she fucked up Kaer Morhen already and I didn't know what carnage she could release. I felt it irresponsible to let her loose again. I was punished for that. That's bad.
Noah Lee
>Hearts of stone ending >Olgierd doesn't deserve to be saved >Gaunter doesn't deserve to get away with fucking people over Also, I really thought I was going to Ofier at the beginning of the dlc
Lincoln Watson
>fucked up kaer morhen Man, every character IN Kaer Morhen mentions how it was already fucked up and all the shit needed to fix it. Kaer Morhen has been a glorified pile of rubble before Witcher 1 even began, Vesemir is the only thing keeping people there.
As for Avallac'h's lab, fuck that dude, I thought he was with the Wild Hunt the whole time so I couldn't give less of a shit what he said. The whole game after finding Ciri, was preparing Ciri for when I wouldn't be there to protect her, and lo and behold, it paid off because I got the best ending and Ciri got what she wanted all along. First playthrough too.
fuck avallac'h
Grayson Collins
I thought Olgierd deserved it. He's made a shitload of mistakes for justifiable causes. Plus he still acts with honor even though he has a "heart of stone."
Whether his mistakes justify an eternity of punishment is up to interpretation, but it speaks to the quality of the writing when people can discuss what he deserves.
Asher Foster
The DLC would be more than ten dollars if they had to model Ofier.
Tyler Nguyen
Who cares if KM was already fucked up? Ciri obviously had no control over her power in an expansive, spacious stronghold, let alone in an isolated underground cavern. She hadn't undergone any special training from then until the labarotary to control her gift. The game made no distinction between "messing up the lab" and "letting her go apeshit on it." In fact, it was reasonable to think the latter as Ciri was highly charged and emotional at that point.
My reasoning was that I didn't want to create internal strife within the party before the ending, or do something petty to the lab because of some bitch elf (who could just be jealous,) giving Ciri shit. If he was to really lead by example, Geralt would show Ciri that there are more important things to worry about, and encourage her to hold back.
In your reasoning, "fuck Avallac'h". "Let's fuck his shit up." I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the plot results feel almost crosswired. Surely showing some restraint and wisdom would inspire Ciri to be a pro witcher and not run off to fuck herself up with the White Frost? Whereas fucking up the lab would show impusliveness and inability to control emotions.
I wasn't an asshole to her, I stole the horses for her friends, I helped her sort the grave out. So why was I penalised for it? It makes little sense, and feels like an oversight. It's unfortunate because the writing over the rest of the game was masterful. It's almost as if the script had an SJW filter where it'd say - "You didn't let Ciri do whatever the fuck she wanted?! REEEEEEEEEEEE!'
To be honest it's dissapointed me more than ME3's ending did.
Levi Adams
If it had been as impressive as Toussaint, it would've been a great purchase
Xavier Anderson
>Geralt is appearently bad father figure if he refuses to help some degenerates steal horses Polish game everyone
