Now that the dust has settled, what's the verdict on this?
Tried it again after that outpost update.
Still shit.
It's shit
(never played it)
It had all of the depth of Minecraft 5 years ago with worse building tech.
NMS is only impressive if you think of it as a tech demo for a larger game. On its own, there's not enough to grab onto.
Good for the first 20 minutes until you realise there is nothing to do
...
Shit
please no not my mom :(
I've never experienced this magnitude of Schadenfreude with any game release, ever. I knew from the very first reveal that it was snake oil, promising you everything under the sun. The subreddit had over 100k subs months before the game came out. How the release unraveled was just beautiful.
reeeeee
One of the worst space games ever made.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ponzi scheme
but I know a bunch of non-gamers that were 150% sold on the rhetoric though.
wp
I bought it on sale after the outpost update. It's far from great, but I don't feel ripped off. If they continue to add content to the game it could end up being quite good.
what's with brits and vydia scams. i'm still waiting for yogventures
The verdict is that Hello games pulled of the biggest fleecing in living memory and are laughing all the way to the bank
Saw someone who bought it for ps4.
He got, got man.
That people will fall for anything.
I bought the game and I'm not even mad.
I'm legitimately impressed with how con man pulled it off and what he has done since release.
Well played.
It's a Steam early access first person survival game.
do you even know what a ponzi scheme is you retard?
scam/10
I still laugh thinking about all the hype there was on Sup Forums about this trash game. All clearly underaged, the concept itself was an obvious sign of a flawed game. Procedural generation for exploration is really lazy and rarely pays off
Disappointing. All I wanted was what they showed in that first tech demo + decent procedural generation. I didn't care about space battles or online or various roleplaying aspects or base-building: all I wanted was my comfy colourful science-fantasy space exploration game to chill out on
But it runs like shit, looks like shit, & is basically Minecraft v1.01 in spaaace with lasers instead of pickaxes. Fuck mining I hate it so much
A pyramid/investment scheme where you use the money from new targets to fool old targets into thinking their investments are bearing fruit.
That's the long and short of it.
Attract investors with unrealistic returns, paid for by the influx of new investors.
Why does this statement not apply to NMS?
NU MAN'S SKY WAS A MISTAKE
you wont get my moma
It's fine as a game. It's biggest shortcoming is that the overhyped speculation everyone had for it, and the little hints that ended up not making the game, render it disappointing.
They released a huge update already so that proves it wasn't a scam you mongoloids.
its minecraft in space
>huge update
fuck
Overpriced and far too niche. I grew up playing old DOS games like Space Quest III and this is basically the expanded version of space exploration that I wanted. But it still needs a lot of work. I've already done everything I can except get a 48 slot freighter. Now I just grind for money whenever I have a new podcast to listen to.
