agility is more than just brute speed, it also includes coordination and balance. men would be faster sprinting on an open road, but women would be faster crossing a balance beam, for instance.

Women may be slower at running/swimming, but they supposedly have higher stamina with those activities. I do know women can withstand colder water for longer than men, even in ancient times women were used as skin divers in a few cultures.
