how do i make byzantium great again?
also general eu4 thread
FUCKING OTTOMANS
Ally Hungary, Poland or Austria or whatever combination. Also get lucky
This or do the Skanderbeg cheese.
the ai albania is literally retarded and wont stay with my army and when i get them to attack me and skanderberg in the mountains they somehow still beat me
i have even tried switching to the more defensive unit types
>It's a France Allies Ottomans episode
i guess i just get really unlucky rolls
>France allies Ottomans
>irl France did this
How the Habsburgs managed to hold off the Ottomans TWICE I can't understand to this day.
Habsburgs historically controlled Spain and were actually a superpower
In EU4 they barely ever manage to PU Hungary, let alone Spain or Bohemia.
If the Burgundian inheritence doesn't fire or goes to someone else instead of Austria, Europe becomes France and the Ottomans playpen for 200 years.
>It's a Golden Horde becomes Christian episode
I once had a campaign where the Palatinate inherited Burgundy. Hilarity ensued
...
>>>/gsg/
How do you guys play these games without falling asleep? That was the dullest 54 hours of my life, just clicking through popups
eu4 is shit
victoria 2 is where it's at famioli
t. /gsg/
>also general eu4 thread
???
The Mongols became Christian in my CK2 after Charlemagne became a lollard and let western Europe become Germanic, while I held out as Finnish Suomenusko
What's a good nation for a beginner?
Spain, Portugal, England
Ottomans are basically the game on easy mode.
This, can confirm as a fellow /gsg/er.
EU4 is fucking trash
Portugal, just colonize and ignore europe, drop the alliance with England he's fucking useless Ally Castille and only do Defensive wars to make sure he stays healthy.
Yeah until the economy shits the bed around 1900 and the game becomes unplayable
This.
Ally Castille and you won't have to fight wars in Europe, so you can concentrate on exploration and colonization.
who would win ?
poor little greek boy
What the fuck is this
EU4 Japan
No, which mod is it?
mod that makes eu4 playable
EU4 starts right in the middle of the Sengoku Jidai so everyone in Japan with a dick smaller than their sword (which is everyone) is trying to kill eachother
>Castille in PU with Poland
>make a new standard in the world where everyone can only make melee weapons the average size of their majority ethnicity's cocks
>sit back and watch
>it's a Charlemagne becomes Cathar episode
Speaking of Constantinople
its nanboku-cho war you stupid gaijin
Is EU4 still playable? Last I heard they gut blobbing so hard you can't even have more than 40 province
I can blob just fine.
The favors system is utter bullshit. I understand offering incentive for a nation to join your war, but needing to bribe your own allies with favors in order to get them to join a war is just stupid.
And when you do offer them land, it's basically Minesweep with regard to trying to find the provinces that they actually want, because holy shit, they are picky as fuck.
I want to try playing a trade nation, what country should I choose? And anything I should know about trade?
venice
it makes you a shitload of money
its really REALLY hard to fuck up
Genoa. Do it, pussy.
Venice is perfect. Befriend Austria and prepare a big fleet to keep the Ottomans at bay.
Wait for Shadow Kingdom to happen before expanding into Italy and take Milan and Genoa, build marketplaces everywhere. You'll swim in money, guaranteed.
post liquor factories laddos
You play CKII and fuck the shit out of them before they git gut.
>Holy
>Roman
>Empire
Stellaris>CK2=Victoria 2>HoI3(modded)>EU4
What's the matter, sissy greek boi?
Is this a good Europe?
It's shit.
not enough blue
>mfw Burgundy has survived into the 1600's on the last 3 games i played
Too much blue.
What a re some comfy nations to play?
>How the Habsburgs managed to hold off the Ottomans TWICE I can't understand to this day.
Ah...the good ol' times. Now we are only remembered as the country below Germany or the one with the kangaroos
Don't know how much they changed but my first full playthrough in EU3 was with a daimyo on Japan and still the most fun I had with this game
Castille is risky, since sometimes Aragon declares war and fucks you over, or You get the civil war and the war of Las Alpujarras at the same time and you can't handle the sheer amount of rebels, or France comes knocking. Once you get stablished, though, it's really easy to become the first World Power.
>Don't know how much they changed the system behind it
Typed too fast
