Nintendos next handheld is more powerful than their most recent home console

>nintendos next handheld is more powerful than their most recent home console

I still cant get over it

>New technology is more advanced than older technology

>Vita wasn't as powerful as ps3
>DS wasn't as powerful as the Gamecube
>etc

Wow you are literally retarded. This is the first time something like this has happened

It's not their next handheld, it's their next home console

They will be revealing their 3DS successor in the next year, and it will not be Switch-compatible

>People still think this is going to happen after Nintendo merged their console and handheld divisions.
user... I'm sorry.

That's because the wii u was underpowered trash. The switch is barely on par with the 360 and it only took 11 years.

>get proven wrong
>"That's because"

You are still wrong, retard

The look on your face will be priceless

Could you even imagine them trying to justify buying a second handheld when the switch would no doubt be
>More powerful
>Have better games
>Just as portable
Like, what would they even sell a 3ds successor as? A cheaper alternative to the switch? The switch is already only 300 dollars and no doubt going to go way down before they even have time to announce a new handheld

how did he get proven wrong. he never said you were wrong. he is simply pointing out that a handheld surpassing a most recent handheld is not amazing for the reason he cited...

uhh, the wiiu is more powerful. the switch just a newer chip (which is still 2 generations old) that allows it to barely handle higher resolutions.

Then why does Zelda run faster on the switch? AND at a higher resolution?

Portable switch is weaker than the wiiu
Docked switch is more powerful

>Zelda looks like a PS2 game
>900p 30fps
>9th gen console

I give it a Ninten out of ten.

>A handheld that's actually powerful at its release is more powerful than a home console that was already outdated before it was ever announced.

Wow, you don't say

>PS2
Has your dumbass forgotten what a ps2 game looked like?

>It's not their next handheld, it's their next home console

YOU FOOL

>this retard again

Who is even going to make games for this supposed 4DS? Nintendo completely restructured their divisions to work on one piece of hardware, Switch.

>>More powerful
Home consoles typically are
>>Have better games
They're also $60, so what? 3DS had a far better library than the Wii U did so it really doesn't matter
>>Just as portable
There's no way, the Switch has a terrible battery life and it's way too big. People want a pocket sized device that lasts a good 5 hours minimum

And the pricing is absurdly important. $300 is a very premium price for a handheld. DS sold 154 million units by being $129. Ever poor person could get one for their kid. Switch isn't that. Switch will never be that

>2 hr battery on graphically intensive games
>handheld

Pick one

>4DS
>who

Don't you mean, when?

>The switch is barely on par with the 360
That's wrong you fucking retard

Most people on here are too young to actually remember what a ps2 game looked like.

>Nintendo completely restructured their divisions to work on one piece of hardware, Switch.
And yet there's absolutely no evidence of this in terms of games. Switch should have an incredible launch lineup if it really had twice the support a Nintendo device does normally. It doesn't. It's ONLY fucking launch game is a game that was SUPPOSED to come out in 2015.

Make no mistake, Switch is a home console. It won't be getting handheld games because those are being saved for the actual handheld

But Switch lasts for 3 hours playing BotW you shitposter

>DS sold 154 million units by being $129.
Yeah, last year. It launched at 250.

Not that guy but we don't have updated Wiiu footage while the switch runs it at 30
There's no real evidence.

The Wii U has to render two screens at once, which takes a huge chunk away from its already limited power.

2.5 hours minimum, 4.25 average.

To be fair, RE4 on PS2 was a shit port.

the switch version is missing effects and assets all over the place. and it only runs in higher res when docked.

You're right. It's more like a Wii.

Hi, I'm looking for a video game console.

a console that all games are absolutely free

console that is super cheap (costing less than $ 10)

And with many games for all ages (Rated E for Everyone on the ESRB)

The DS, you idiot, not the 3DS. Though you may not be old enough to remember.

Used NES Mini.

Depends on the game, most only have menus and maps there.

There's nothing in the switch dock, the tablet isn't underclocked either.

Someone post the image of that racing game where gamecube had reflections and lights removed.

I hate all nintendo consoles.

Any other options?

We already see SMTV and FE, 2 series relege to handhelds, coming to Switch. So far we only know their 2017 plans, E3 will show what they have in store for 2018 and beyond. You will see more handheld series move to Switch while 3DS get whatever crumbs are left.

But it's getting fire emblem, monster hunter, SMT, Dragon Quest... these are all games that have typically been released on Nintendo's handhelds and not their home consoles, with the occasional exception here and there. Plus there's the rumored new version of sun & moon and probably others I'm forgetting.

Seems pretty merged to me.

YOU WILL NEVER EVER PLAY SKYRIM ON THE SWITCH YOU WILL DIE THE DAY BEFORE IT COMES OUT

Raspberry Pi Zero

Raspberry Pi

NES Mini isn't Nintendo, it's Nu-tendo.

Trips of truth

ANTI-TODD????

SMT, FE, DQ, and MH are all series that have had both handheld and console games historically. There is no "typically". Also MH isn't confirmed as far as I know, DQ11 is a PS4 port (you know, the CONSOLE version), and we know absolutely nothing about SMT and FE. If they Switch bombs they could just as easily become multiplat like basically every Wii U game did

> the tablet isn't underclocked either.

That's exactly what it is, the chip is underclocked to avoid burning your hands/wasting battery/have obnoxiously loud fans when you undock it. It basically becomes half as strong in tablet mode as it is when docked.

fucka you dolphin

>Nu-tendo
Ayo?

>there is no typically
Are you stupid or something?

Vast majority of games in those series that have appeared on Nintendo platforms have appeared on consoles. The closest to breaking this trend is FE because it stated out on consoles, but as of the early 2000s that became an almost exclusively handheld franchise with only 2 console entries, and none on a console for almost ten years now.

A mainline DQ hasn't been on a Nintendo console since the SNES.

Monster Hunter had two console entries on Nintendo systems, all others were handheld.

SMT same trend.

A mainline Pokemon game has never appeared on a home Nintendo console.

They've merged the divisions. This is it. No more divided portable and home systems.

>spreading FUD so that people dont buy Nintendo
how sad

This is the most retarded post ever.

It's worse?

This game the most boring grindy button mashy piece of shit of all time

I just think it's funny how shit the Switch is. Like, the Wii was poorly conceived, but you could see where they were coming from, it was built around the idea that two screens were better than one (a Nintendo notion that originated in earnest with the GBA compatibility shit with the Cube), which presumably the DS's success validated, only the DS sold like cherry glazed high school cunny because of its library, not its gimmicks, a Gameboy Touch would've done just as well.

This, well, it doesn't even follow that kind of logic, it's just "HUH, PEOPLE LIKE HANDHELD, PEOPLE LIKE CONSOLE, SO LET'S MAKE SOMETHING THAT'S IN BETWEEN BUT UNLIKE EITHER!!!!"

Nintendo has repeatedly said that it's a home console and that it's not a 3DS successor.
You're just being an idiot for thinking they're lying about it.

>They've merged the divisions. This is it. No more divided portable and home systems.
How Nintendo handles their game development is not something we have any idea of. You're implying everyone is working together under one roof. Literally. This would imply that they can't work on more than 1 game at the time which is patently false, so what would prevent them from working on two separate lines of games at the same time? A handheld Zelda and a console Zelda, for instance? Nothing.

>A mainline Pokemon game has never appeared on a home Nintendo console.
Precisely. And we haven't even been teased about the existence of such a title.

I keep reading contrasting opinions about it online. It's on my PS2 backlog.

*Wii U

Though that should be obvious.

Why did you open this thread?

>HUH, PEOPLE LIKE HANDHELD, PEOPLE LIKE CONSOLE, SO LET'S MAKE SOMETHING THAT'S IN BETWEEN BUT UNLIKE EITHER!!!!"
Thats literally genius and what we need.
